This property is fantastic. It’s like a mini boutique resort with so many facilities, many of them quirky and unique, but at the same time so tranquil. For the price it was excellent value. The room was large, airy, very clean and had travellers in mind, e.g multiple clothes hooks for towels, suitcase racks, spaces for storing items. The activities on site included a tour of the tortoise nursery (a must!), a gong bath, not to mention the fantastic underground cave with saline swimming pool. We also paid for massages which were excellent and super relaxing, clean and professional al spa. The staff were also excellent - very attentive, friendly and helpful. Properly the best service we’ve received on our two week holiday whilst in Mexico. On site restaurant had a great menu with a variety of local and classic dishes, high quality cuisine. Do not hesitate to stay here! A little out of the main centre but 6mins by taxi, only 20 mins to some of the best centres in the area.

Perfect service; the staff is amazing. The food is very good, delicious, and offers a huge assortment. I believe you won't get bored with the choices for about 2 weeks. I hope that next year they will finish the construction works, and the spa will be operational. If you're a man, make sure to bring closed-toe shoes to visit the Chianti and Unami restaurants; they have strict dress code rules. We upgraded our suite to one with an ocean view, as I found the one overlooking the lagoon not as quiet and fascinating. Take all inclusive or the food with be a fortunate for you. They even let us to use our all inclusive package after the check out till 17 pm, that was an incredible gesture as we had a late flight. Another tip: they provide a voucher for 2 free photos with a hotel photographer. We did a photoshoot and couldn't resist buying more photos, which can be expensive. You pay around 170 USD for 13 photos. You can find a photographer on Instagram who offers 30 photos for 80 USD.

If you’re on the fence, book this place! This was an incredible hotel. While the photos online are great, they really don’t do this hotel justice! I stayed in the suite and had incredible volcano views with awesome sunsets every night. The pool area is heavenly, the restaurant has really good food, but what really makes this place is the incredible staff. Super attentive, always willing to help, give recommendations, and make your stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel only has seven rooms total but when I was there it seemed it was only half full (which is very surprising), so if you’re looking for peace and solitude with insane views and a pool and grounds to match, this is your place. Big shoutout to the staff who helped set up transport to the airport and dealt with my many questions! Cannot wait to come back! I’d stay here over Casa Palopó any day.

Playa del Carmen is lively and full of energy, but the city beach can get crowded, and some areas aren’t always clean due to dogs and their activities. I would suggest staying in Playacar or nearby for a cleaner, more private beach while still being close to the city.

Historical city with lots of wonderful restaurants featuring Yucatecan cuisine. I loved walking around the Municipal Market (Mercado)...so much to see and buy there Side trips to Valladolid and cenotes, and Xcambo and Xtampu were interesting and reasonably priced. I also took a cooking class from Sofia at her home...a fun day with excellent Yucatecan food.

Tulum city was completely disappointing (except for park Jaguar and archeological site) so I’m so glad we stood in “zona hotelera”. We chose a hotel who was in walking zone to “escultura de la luz” and almost all the time we walked through the beach because the road is terrible. We heard all kind of stories and didn’t want to risk so we booked our excursions in advance to Chichen Itzá, Coba, Cenotes, Tulum, Akumal and Xuan Ka’an and couple of times we used the app in drive to get to some further restaurants or to the city. We loved La Eufemia for a relaxed local chiringuito, had a great treat in Ana y Jose hotel and party at Bagatelle. To pay we chose the Revolut card, you can charge it immediately and pay and tip with the mobile phone (although tip we like to leave it in cash if possible). We used exchange office called Capital (in the city center and in zona hot.) The greatest thing was the private tours because we really get to know the people and the reality of Tulum and Mexico. It’s always better if you speak Spanish. They are really grateful. Absolute adventure and xian Kaan community are the platforms we used and we were delighted. We enjoyed Tulum before the hordes come for Xmas but when sargassum was already gone. First half of December, great weather, no crowds, clean beach. I hope I can come back one day soon.

Guatemala is a very colorful and fascinating country.

Guatemala is a very colorful and fascinating country. Tikal, Antigua and Lake Atitlan are world class scenery. The Mayan people are still very much alive with their beautiful vivid color clothing and smiling faces. They are generally very friendly and almost spiritual feeling with a different vibe than people in Mexico. The climate is perfect at around 70 degrees in the Highlands. I feel it is very safe there if you stay in main areas. Don't hesitate to visit Guatemala if you want a true 3rd world experience!

though we were at the seasonal end of the Rainy season the roads did flood. The Hotel is far from the city center and are not walkable during certain times. taxi four wheelers at 200 pesos on way. Mangroves and rain make for flooded passages. We rented a bikes to get around however the puddles were too deep to get through. You do need GPS many options of getting to and from the hotel in Coco beach area. taking the weather in stride we enjoyed our 5 night stay in Holbox. There were great sunny periods and walked the beaches, sat under palapas, swam, and walked the sand bars at low tide, Coco beach and Mosquito. This place is what Tulum must have been 30 years ago. There is plenty of development/construction here and if you want to beat the commercialism it is time to go now, Luv it woud go back in a flash. I will go back. We found the best vegan vegetarian place Artes Sona a must.

A beautiful and atmospheric place surrounded by mountains, with friendly streets and good restaurants at fair prices. However, it’s very frustrating that the hiking trails are almost impossible to find; people come here to hike, yet the national park was closed. In the narrow streets, the car exhaust fumes linger, and it’s hard to breathe; the traffic is extremely heavy, even though the town could easily be explored on foot or by bike.
