The location is very nice, close to a canal. The village is quiet and cute. The hotel is wonderful, extremely clean. The dinning / breakfast area is very nice. I also was reimbursed one breakfast for leaving very early and not taking it. Staffing persons were very nice and helpful.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The building was historic and beautiful, the rooms were comfortable and well-designed. We loved the exploring the picturesque town of Abcoude and it was a quick 20 minute ride into Amsterdam. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We loved having a quick coffee and breakfast each morning before exploring (best coffee we had all trip!). Highly recommend staying here! Can't wait to return.

Love the location! Naarden is surprisingly a very nice, charming little city. The B&B is within a walking distance to the centre, very beautiful surrounding, local market on Saturday morning, little shops and cafes... Amsterdam can be reached in 20minutes by car. Inga is a very friendly, attentive host. The B&B has everything you need! It is also dog friendly. Highly recommended! We already made plans to come back

Hilversum is a nice city to visit, the city centre has a lot to explore. Lots of places to eat, we met with family members for a lovely Nepalese restaurant meal in the evening. We went down a few back streets as we were a little lost and we felt safe walking around.

Naarden is a picturesque small town with a unique character. Its unusual star shaped fortifications make it a really interesting location to visit. It would have been good to have more time to explore this town further rather than the one night we had there. It is relatively quiet but has a delicious ice cream parlour and a well stocked deli!

The purpose of the trip was to revisit the FLORIADE Garden exhibition We found Huizen a quiet comfy town as a base to also visit = Zaans Museum windmills,Cheese,Clogs Volendam=Very busy traditional fishing town .Lots of restaurants,Souvenir. shops,Boat trips Fish stalls(soused herring). We also went to re visit Afslutdijk Dam but this was spoiled by heavy road works and closed visitor centre Back in Huizen we eat in "De Haven van Huizen" alongside the boat moorings Very good Food setting and price. Next night was "Het Wapen van Huizen"Very welcoming but more of a Pub type experience .Our travel around was by car or foot so we have no knowledge of Public Transport. Beware of cycles! They seem to have right of access everywhere and catch you unaware " silent approach and Bells must be prohibited" Shopping is easy everybody seems to speak good english and are happy to see you. However cash is not the prefered payment (strangely neither is VISA but , Mastercard NO PROB) No need to overstock on Euros Having traveled by car from the SHUTTLE we found some traffic congestion but not too bad except ANTWERP although the English are supposed to enjoy queuing this is not recommended GOOD LUCK Chris G

The hotel is affordable. But the staff is really the worst.

The hotel is affordable. But the staff is really the worst. They wade shocking mistake after shocking mistake, and never felt sorry for anything. Even when that meant giving us the key of an occupied room instead of ours, which had us wake up two half naked girls in the middle of the night.. Everything was so wrong ; the key cards would almost never work. The reception hours were clearly not respected, and we were sometimes left out waiting in the night for them to actually arrive (check in is supposed to be almost 24/7, which was the reason why we had selected this hotel). Even worse, when we tried to complain, they never treated our request and never answered, even after we had issued a complaint through the Booking platform. Just the worst. Never coming back here.

Very convenient and pretty location.

Very convenient and pretty location. Our host went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It was such a pleasure to arrive to complimentary food to see us through to the next day to go shopping. The accommodation is fitted out tastefully and is very cosy. The kitchen is perfectly adequate for self-catering. Beautiful walks and the lake. Good for bird watching and boating. Restaurants nearby - the Dock and De Eend.

First impression was not good as we saw lots of building work. Second day we went in to town and it is a comfortable place to walk around. Interactive town map showing lots of places to eat and shop. Places to rest in the main shopping mall. Friendly staff. Hourly Boat tours.

It is a very nice area that I can definitely recommend to visit . I ride my bike around part of the Loosdrecht lake and it has been very nice going through the different villages that are next to the lake . From this area you can also easily reach the bigger city of Utrecht and Amsterdam, we used the Breukelen train station to move around .

Naarden is worth seeing, but compared to other Dutch cities, not a place with enough going on. I think if you are looking for a quiet get away it’s a great place with a feeling of family gathering town. We had one of the best meals of our trips at the hotel in town. You can walk the city walls to view the moat. Naarden is a good starting point for day trips to local sights of interest.

We used Hilversum as a base to visit relatives throughout the country. The accommodations are half the price of the Holiday Inn at the train station in Amsterdam with a much bigger suite and a good kitchen. We rented a car at the airport which worked out well. There was free parking everywhere outside Amsterdam. Hilversum is filled with good restaurants and is a beautiful smaller city.
