Beautiful setting on a river. Spacious, well-appointed room that took into account every detail for a comfortable stay. We had dinner as well as breakfast at the hotel and both were excellent.

Due to a snow storm we were unable to make it to the boat in Kristansand and this was our luck. We were able to add 2 more bonus days to our holiday at the last minute. And a bonus was the stay at the very friendly hospitable hotel Lillesand for sure. Stayed 2 nights in the suite in the quaint, kest-decorated picturesque village of Lillesand. Highly recommended.

It was an awesome experience! The way this “hotel” maintained the authenticity of the original prison was remarkable… newspaper articles covering the walls, preservations of the isolation cells, activity areas, shower, etc was amazing. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. There were no noice issues and all areas were well maintained as well as clean.

Excellent location in the heart of the arendal. Lovely host, Qing, who welcomed us so warmly and attended to all of our needs. Room is very clean and has all the basic and essential things we need. Breakfast was simple but very delicious.

Fantastic restaurant with wonderful local fare - moose, local trout (best I have ever had). Attentive staff, great sitting areas for relaxing this is a luxury facility.

Fantastic breakfast included for early or late starters. Had a lovely buffet dinner the night we arrived and cold beer. Tea/coffee facilities available in foyer and room. Games room with many games, and large public lounge room. Interesting Norwegian historical items scattered throughout the hotel. Norwegian country decor. Very quiet at night. Lovely pier to sit over fjord at night.
