The room was booked for my parents. They love going there because it is easy access for them (mum is in a wheelchair), and the staff is really nice and helpful. The place is also very calm and quiet. They couldn't go but on another opportunity, I went to the catacombs tour and it was fantastic!

From the moment we entered the property, which is located in a very quiet neighborhood, we were greeted enthusiastically by Domenico and Jenny at the front desk. This hotel has to be, in all my years of travel, one of the best maintained, imaginative and immaculate properties. The owner has treated it as if it were her baby. All glass windows wiped clean, plants galore sitting on window sills, hanging from ceiling and in large pots around the pool. It feels like a private oasis. Rooms are well appointed, beds are comfy, extra blankets in drawers, not a smudge on our rooms walls, tile floors throughout the room and onto the outside hallways and lobby are so clean they sparkle. Did not want to leave so we dined at a table next to the pool, and service and ambiance was exceptional. Breakfast is included, and served to you either by pool or in lobby dining room.If you want to pamper yourself and relax and escape,…..this is the place!

The hotel was spotless with the marble floors polished to a high shine. Didn't use the pool when we were there but it looked nice. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a generous assortment of hot and cold items as well as juices and coffee. The service was excellent at dinner and breakfast with friendly and attentive staff. As a bonus, there is a planetarium on site offering an immersive 360° fulldome experience to better understand the mystery of the Líneas de Nasca and the legacy of María Reiche including a small museum in the hotel room where she lived for 27 years.

Busy place with lots of restaurant displayed around a small water pound. It is the mecca for buggy sand riding (drivers knows their things) and sand dunes boarding or skiing. Staying longer that 24 hours will hurt your budget as the only activities are riding the dunes which comes at a cost.

Experiencing Nasca doesn’t have to be expensive.

Experiencing Nasca doesn’t have to be expensive. During my visit, I got to see the Nasca Lines from the air as well as from the viewing tower, which I reached by local bus. There are options to suit different budgets, with prices ranging from as little as around $3 for the viewing tower experience to approximately $80 or more for a flight, plus airport tax. I’d say Nasca is a destination that can cater well to both budget travellers and those who are happy to spend a little more for a special experience. You don’t necessarily need to have a big budget to enjoy what Nasca has to offer—you can choose the experience that works best for you. One last note for travellers visiting the viewing tower by local bus: I found 4–6 pm to be a good time to go, as the sun is less harsh and doesn’t wash out the lines as much. However, avoid staying too late. As traffic thins out later in the day, it can become harder to flag down a local bus for the return journey to Nasca. Plan your return with a little time to spare.

Ica is a fantastic destination for a long weekend,...

Ica is a fantastic destination for a long weekend, especially if you love wine, pisco, and beautiful desert-meets-ocean landscapes. We spent our days touring vineyards and bodegas, and each one offered something distinct: Three Generations felt intimate and family-run, Tacama impressed with its scale and history as one of the oldest wineries in the Americas, Hacienda La Caravedo was a standout (we stayed there and can't recommend it enough), and El Huarango charmed us with its artisanal approach. Doing several in a row gave us a real appreciation for how varied Peruvian pisco can be. Beyond the wine route, the Islas Ballestas boat tour and Paracas National Reserve were the other big highlights. The Ballestas are full of sea lions, penguins, and birds, and Paracas has this surreal red-sand coastline where the desert drops straight into the Pacific — easily one of the most beautiful landscapes we've seen. For food, the restaurant at Hacienda La Caravedo was excellent and sourced beautifully from local ingredients. In Paracas, the seafood near the waterfront is fresh and worth seeking out. Getting around is easy if you arrange transport in advance — taxis and private drivers are the most practical way to move between bodegas and out to Paracas, since they're spread out. Roads are good and distances are manageable. For young couples, we'd recommend combining the wine and pisco route with at least one full day in Paracas (boat tour in the morning, reserve in the afternoon). Sandboarding and dune buggies in Huacachina are another classic Ica activity if you want a bit of adrenaline. It's a perfect mix of relaxed, scenic, and a little adventurous.

Most people come for the Nazca lines but there is so much more to explore about the culture and the area. The Palpa lines (Paracas culture) which are older than the Nazca lines, the aquaducts, the cemetery, as well as learning about Marie Reiche and her life devoted to this area. The main part of the city is very walkable and the people are friendly and helpful.

We only stayed a night to fly the nazca lines and visited a couple of sites like the aquaducts, Cahuachi Pyramids and Planetario María Reich at the DM Hoteles. I think we could have spent more time there and explored the area more fully as there seemed to be more available than just the lines.
