I loved the location of this hotel, which is literally right in front of the Plaza de Armas (I believe it's one of the only three hotels in Nazca with such a privileged location in front of the plaza ). It's just a few blocks, no more than a 10-minute leisurely walk, from the bus station. The hot water (which is truly hot, although it takes a bit of time to war up, but once it does, it's perfect) is delightful and clean! It rivals any other hotel, like Hotel Alegría or Hotel Arequipa (where I have stayed on previous occasions)! A true delight of a place in terms of cleanliness. Everything is very new and well-maintained, the floor is spotless, and I liked that the curtains were not full of dust like in Hotel Arequipa. They also had the courtesy to change my room upon request since I was looking for a warmer spot, and the room I originally reserved did not get direct sunlight, making it too cold for my health. I greatly appreciate their kindness in changing my room and helping with internet connectivity. They also offer luggage storage service, which is very convenient when waiting before or after check-in. Upon entering the hotel, they offer a pickup service from the bus station, though it’s not really necessary (a service I didn't use, so I don't know if it has a cost). I walked, but if it's more convenient for you, I recommend using the InDrive or Jango apps, which work well in Nazca. Unfortunately, Uber and DiDi haven't reached Nazca yet. I also liked that there is a grocery store at the entrance of the hotel where you can buy essentials like water and snacks , and there's a bakery with delicious empanadas, especially the cheese one. Additionally, the exchange rate they offer is very good, and they give you the option to pay via Yape, directly in dollars, or they can convert to soles at the current Google exchange rate. This makes it very convenient for travelers to pay in soles at the hotel.

Ica was nothing to write home about. Quite noisy, couldn't find a decent market at the end of my trip and the plaza wasn't very pretty. Huacachina on the other hand was a blast. Skip Ica and head to the Oasis.

Specifically - Huacachina...Ica itself is basically like any other Peruvian city with it's quirks and cultural gems. But I stayed in Huacachina, and it was AMAZING. Coolest, most favorite place I've been in Peru - and I've been to Machu Picchu. You can pretty much eat anywhere around the lagoon and get a great meal (little more expensive than in the city, but that's to be expected), you can walk anywhere in approximately 3 minutes, and getting to Ica is around 5-10 mins by taxi, and there are SO MANY TAXIS just waiting for your business, so it's easy. Not a lot of nightlife in Huacachina, so most travellers wanting to go pisco or wine tasting or dancing go to Ica...but I loved the quiet evenings, it's rare in this country!

The town of Paracas has little interest by itself and deserves to be rearranged completely. But its region is full of attractions: luxury hotels and condos, huge desert and wildlife, national reserve beaches very clean and beautiful, foot and quad trekking, archeological sites. Additionnally it can be used as basecamp to visit others nearby attractiona such as Huacachina or even the Nazca lines and region.

It's okay, dirty along the beach(plastic etc). Stray dogs wander all over and bark at night....many places speak no English and their menus are often without pictures or any English translations. For the many visitors here, English is a way to communicate

Ica is this cute little oasis in the middle of the highest, most beautiful sand dunes. This was one of my favorite parts of our trip to Peru. I could have stayed a few more days for sure. We did the sand buggy ride and sand boarding at sunset. We went out to Paracas and Ballesta islands. Both trips were awesome. Ica was a great jumping off point to do those and so many other trips.

The town of Ica has a beautiful old church at the main square. The surrounding vineyards have a range of pisco tours/tastings. We were able to relax, enjoy good meals and tour the area, which is what we wanted.

The reason to visit Ica is only to see Huacachina. In Huacachina, ride the dune buggies & sandboard. This is however not for everyone. We enjoyed it but not all will. Stay in Huacachina not Ica. The city of Ica has very little to do.

if you plan on relaxing this is the place to be! many pools and activities to keep the kids busy (this place is very family oriented!!), they try to keep a divide between adults and kids. hotel is very clean. ac and heating is great! a lot of staff on the site which means you never have to look too hard to get some help! overall if you’re looking for a good time I would 100% recommend Las Dunas. if you want this as your base to visit Ica and surroundings: it’s a bit out of the way but the safe neighborhood really is an added bonus!

Great location & friendly staff. The pickup from the bus station in Ica was included and worked well. We called the hotel 2 hours in advance to schedule our pickup. amazing breakfast on the terrace. We had to leave 20min before the breakfast usually starts. However the lady preparing the breakfast was super friendly and told us that she‘ll prepare everything and we can have breakfast in 5min. delicious bread with jam, meat, avocado, coffee, eggs etc.

A fantastic find on a quiet and attractive residential street, but with easy access to all the main areas of Ica. Super convenient for access to Huacachina. The owner was amazing, we have met wonderful people during our time in Peru, but this guy was the best. So friendly and helpful! The staff was very friendly and helped us a lot getting around in Huacacina/Ica. You could book a buggy tour/wine tour with them. The hotel is a bit outside the oasis but we liked it, because given the low season it was more quiet at our hotel. We liked the pisco sour course they provided, and got to meet some nice people that way. The room was clean and nice. The breakfast was basic but good.
