Set on a hill and located inside the Hospitality School of Tahiti, Tiki Hôtel offers a 24/7 front desk, a breakfast restaurant and accommodations with a patio or balcony. The room and staff were absolutely amazing. You can have continental or American breakfast for an extra cost, which I think is absolutely worth it. Also, I love the concept of this hotel. From what I understand, some of the staff are students studying nearby at the hospitality university, and everyone was extremely friendly and professional.
Hotel in Papeete
Hotel Sarah Nui offers free WiFi and is just 5 minutes’ walk from Papeete Ferry Terminal. All accommodations includes a flat-screen TV. A great and convenient place to stay in Papeete. Hotel Sarah Nui is super close to the ferry terminal. The room was amazing. The bed was comfortable as well. There is free parking in the parking garage below the hotel.

Royal Tahitien is located on Tahiti’s eastern coast, along the lovely lagoon which faces the Island of Moorea. We booked a studio with its own kitchen facilities, which was ideal for an extended stay. The suite was comfortable, with ample space for two adults and a teen. We were on the ground floor, and there was a patio/balcony. The reception and reservation staff were all warm and welcoming, and provided excellent service. Examples include accommodating early check-in and our request to switch suites for one with afternoon shade. When we mentioned we had been unable to extend our car rental, hotel staff offered to arrange a new rental and took care of all the logistics so that a car was dropped off to us at the hotel within the hour. In short, staff made us feel at home and that nothing was too much trouble. We were even able to extend our stay a couple of times. Although they were not able to give us a late checkout, on the day of our departure they allowed our son to return later on and borrow a towel to take a shower by the pool after his workout at a local park. The hotel buildings evoke an earlier era; some might call it dated, but for us it added to the charm. There was access to a quiet beach, allowing us to enjoy and photograph beautiful, uninterrupted sunsets. The WiFi was free but sometimes dropped in the room; the best connection was in reception. The grounds of the hotel are lush, with flowers, fruit trees, roosters and chickens roaming around, and a pond with turtles. The restaurant was popular with locals for its live music and dancing, which was great fun.

Set in Papeete, within 0.9 mi of Papeete Ferry Terminal and 1.6 mi of Paofai Gardens, City Home Tahiti offers accommodations with a shared lounge and free WiFi as well as free private parking for... Comfortable room wit AC and big common space. A possibility to do laundry and most of all our host - Nadine - was most helpful and even helped us to get a taxi to the airport.

Papeete
Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Fare D'hôtes Tutehau is located in the Farii piti neighborhood. It is 15 minutes' walk from the heart of Papeete. If you're lucky to find this place available, book it! We had the most amazing stay. The rooms are very nice and sparkling clean. The breakfast was outstanding with many fresh fruits. Above all, the host was so welcoming that we didn't want to leave! Georgy is incredible, we could talk for hours with him and he gave us tips to go around the island that no one else ever gave us before. We also had a very late flight and Georgy, for basically no money because he took almost nothing, let us stay longer. We definitely recommend this amazing place!

We got off our cruise ship in Papeete. It was a big let down after visiting the other islands. It's dirty, crowded, & expensive . The best thing to do there is to take the ferry to Moorea for the day! We did have a very nice ride around the island of Tahiti with Marama tours, The island is quite beautiful once you get out of Papeete.
We enjoyed the large Papeete market, the waterfront and our tour of the east coast with Unique Tahiti tours
A real neighborhood, good way to see how local Tahitians live. Chinese at Le Feng Shui was a treat.
Market in Papeete was great - bought and cooked local fruits and veggies - like sea grapes! Must get out and take a tour of the island - much more to see than downtown Papeete. Tracey Thomas/Unique Tahiti was great - all day West Coast Tour.
Great to stopover stay when arriving or leaving Tahiti as so close to airport. Taxi fares are rather high as NZ$28.00 for very short ride, but necessary if you have luggage as Faaa is up step steps by foot.
Teahupoo is at the end of the long road from Papeete on Tahiti Iti. Although it takes a litle while to get there, it is quiet, out of the way. You must have a car and traffic out of Papeete maybe be heavy. We are at a couple food trucks along the way and there is a Carrefour supermarket not far in the town of Taravao.
It is a small rundown town with sweet people who are living in fear of the French government. One night and two days is plenty of time to see the town and don't forget to see the Heiva I Tahiti show. The food is very limited and always get sealed bottled water!
I had an amazing time at A Pueu Village. The bungalow is in a large garden. The sea is 5 meters in front of you with all day calm water for swimming and snorkelling. Because it is so far away from the touristy things (restaurants, hotels and shops), there is a sense of retreat. You'd feel like living in the village with real tahiti life around you. Victor, his wife and daughter are very kind and thoughtful. They offered a lot of help to make sure I had a good stay. Many thanks for everything during my stay.
Don't stay in downtown Papeete unless you like all the traffic and city noise. Resorts outside of town offer shuttles to the city if you want to go. Beautiful views all around the island and the Tahitians are very friendly!
This is a typical town without charm, public transportation is efficient , tourist traffic sustains the economy, basic needs are often hard to meet: changing money is a hassle, especially since weekend closure of banks is definitive, public entertainment is always limited, this city is the only entry point to the attractive atolls in Tahiti for the airplane tourists, streets are not clean, vagrants will approach tourists, car rentals are often exhorbitant, local people are friendly, use of English is limited, local food at night stalls is good indeed, freighters will take passengers to outer islands and perimeters,it is possible to negotiate prices for airline tickets with available discount vouchers or identification ( cards can be secured for senior citizens, etc). Treat this city as a necessary intermediate stopover on your way to the outer islands...some of which will disappear soon and forever as climate changes raise water levels...paradise anon!
Taunoa
Fred and his guesthouse were perfect for my last stop in French Polynesia. Clean, modern, and spacious. There is a TV in the living room (the first I had seen in a few weeks). Nice kitchen. I liked reading on the patio. It is on a side street but easy to find on various maps (maps.me and google). I ended up renting a car and Fred put together an around the island day trip for me to hit the big spots in Tahiti which I preferred to the organized tour I was looking at. He was very easy to reach if anything came up. Definitely recommend!
The location is walking distance from Downtown Papeete. The concierge at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the hotel was good and convenient. Everyone was so nice. At the end of our trip we changed our plans to make sure we stayed at this hotel since it was so accommodating. They also have underground parking if you have a rental car, this is great for the quick rain storms that are common on Tahiti. I will also mention the bed are very comfortable. We will enjoyed our stay here and thought the value was great.
Pirae
As mentioned in preparation reviews, they really take care of you like family! This is true Polynesian hospitality and a memory for life :) The place is really tidy and well maintained, and there is a nice porch area in front of the garden where you can relax. One of the best hostel stays I ever had! Highly recommended! If you enjoy diving, it as a short walk (20 minutes) to the diving center at the marina of Tahiti Yacht club, so perfect also for divers!
Faaa
Had such a wonderful end to my stay in French Polynesia at Manaeva Lodge - the hosts were so kind, helping me to hire a car, print off flight passes, offering fruit and juice, and generally helping to make quite a stressful and complicated return so much easier! The accommodation is beautiful, in such a good location and everything you could possibly want. 100% recommend and will definitely stay here again if I return to Tahiti - amazing! :)
Papeete
The shower had great water pressure, and the bed was comfortable for a good night's rest. The room was clean, sunny, and spacious, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic, I was dreaming about the bread the rest of our trip! Perfect for when in transit on the way to another island or the airport, or when you're doing excursions or renting a car/scooter to explore Tahiti during the day.
Papeete
The Hotel Tahiti Nui is located in the central urban area of Papeete. It is in walking distance to the water front and to a variety of restaurants, shops and the Central Market. Rooms and beds are large and comfortable. The elevator requires inserting one's room key, making the floors secure. The hotel consistently uses an excellent driver named Yoshi on runs to the airport.
This is one of the nicest hotels in Tahiti. I have been to Tahiti many times and have tried all upperclass hotels. Staff if helpful and attentive. The room is big and comfortable. The breakfast is luxurious and super good. So is the food on th e menu. The facilities are large, with different bars and 3 different pools. I have truly enjoyed my stay. I am a returning customer.
Papeete
We got stranded in Tahiti after missing a flight to Raiatea. We booked the Pearl last minute and took a taxi ride over. We checked in at dark and it was pouring rain but the lobby was pleasant and the front desk person was friendly. The room was huge and we could hear the waves but never saw anything because we had to leave out at 5am the next morning.
Punaauia
Awesome Place with a lot of Space, a great great view and two lovely hosts we will gonna miss and call our friends. The best experience outside of hotels we ever Had!! When you are on Tahiti you should sleep and stay There. Our hosts even took us to a local music event what we never had experienced without Them
Papeete
Really central location in Papeete. A great place to stay before travelling to other parts of Tahiti or to other islands. The only hostel in the city with the best price. There is a common area where to sit and you can use the kitchen. The WiFi is good.
Faaa
Hina is a gem. I have been to FP twice. Last time I stayed in Tahiti airport hotel, this time with Hina. This option was much better—nicer accommodations, kitchen, good ac, and hina’s lovely smiling face and presence. Bring earplugs for the roosters.
Punaauia
The pool was great, the donut boat and snorkel gear was was awesome. I think my favourite was out of the four hotels I visited in Moorea and Tahiti you were the only to serve coconut and it was fresh and delicious and made my day
Faaa
Got off plane to Tahiti and was so happy to be able to walk this safe, clean, friendly hotel with excellent wifi.
Family run accommodation with great host. Well organized and paying attention to the details, which make your stay very comfortable. Few minutes walking distance to the beach.
Our ghost Vincent was exceptionally helpful. The driver from our tour company was an hour late to take us to the airport (fortunately we made the flight). Vincent helped us in calling the tour company a half dozen times and eventually called cab for us. He did much more than what we could ask for. The location was excellent - 5 minutes walk to the popular beach and 2 minutes walk to a 24/7 gas station with a large selection of food and supplies
Very nice, traditional and well run little resort. The accommodation is really rustic and cool!
Location was superb, the facilities were amazing and it felt like we were staying at our own resort. Lots of options for activities both included and at additional cost. Would highly recommend for couples and familes
The location right on the water was beautiful. A small kayak was available, and a small dipping pool in the back yard was a plus.
friendly staff, beautiful garden, great location, friendly cats, lovely lagoon, wonderful restaurant, great safari booked through owner.
This is a great find if you are in the area. It's a compound of 3 villas that are super charming and spacious with wonderful hosts! We would love to come back to this dreamy property.
