Set on a hill and located inside the Hospitality School of Tahiti, Tiki Hôtel offers a 24/7 front desk, a breakfast restaurant and accommodations with a patio or balcony. Very nice hotel that is a training facility for nearby university so there are adorable young students working here. It is quite a bit cheaper than the usual hotels. It’s small, only 17 rooms. There is a cheap continental breakfast that was quite good—breads, good coffee, juice. Clean and comfy.
Hotel Sarah Nui offers free WiFi and is just 5 minutes’ walk from Papeete Ferry Terminal. All accommodations includes a flat-screen TV. Bed ok, aircond-ok, coffee, and tea-very good, beautiful floor, and decor, staff-v.nice. I would strongly recommend this hotel for location, and very good price comparing to other not as good hotels.
Royal Tahitien is located on Tahiti’s eastern coast, along the lovely lagoon which faces the Island of Moorea. We loved the pool area and the pressure of the shower head. Also the place was easy to find and easy to get to the bus stop. And the live entertainment that evening was fabulous.
Featuring a swimming pool, a bar and a garden and views of the sea, Villa Ninamu Pearl is located in Punaauia and provides accommodations with free WiFi. Sylvie and her staff were very welcoming and accommodating The guesthouse and rooms are beautifully decorated and the bedrooms are super comfortable The food is delicious There was a small car available to rent for a small cost which was very convenient The view is phenomenal Layout makes it easy to either be private or to socialize... very well thought out.
Located in Teahupoo, Villa BO provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, a shared lounge and a garden. A continental breakfast is available daily at the bed and breakfast. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very good with cooked to order eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and juice, french bread and pastries. Great sunset views of the reef lagoon below.
Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Fare D'hôtes Tutehau is located in the Farii piti neighborhood. It is 15 minutes' walk from the heart of Papeete. Really good value for money. In Papeete rare find. Wonderful garden just to relax under palms. Friendly staff. Airconditioning with small extra cost was perfect. Wifi speed good in respect to Tahiti.
Conveniently located just a 5-minute drive from the Papeete ferry wharf, Fare Suisse provides an excellent base for visitors of Tahiti. Delicious breakfast of fresh mango and guava, fruit juices, coffee, cereal, fresh bread, cold meats, and cheese. The breakfast area is on the patio outside with a nice view of the hill below, and a great internet connection while you eat breakfast. The rooms were clean, particularly the fresh beds and strong citronella smell to keep away the insects - but the room had AC, so the windows could be closed and the AC turned for easy sleeping. The internet connection was surprisingly fast for being on an island in the middle of the ocean. the receptionists are very helpful and almost always available, since they collect and drop off guests at the airport 24/7. The building is just a few steps up the hill on the hillside of town and feels very safe and easy to find, if you have a smartphone with GPS and a torch/flashlight at night.

We got off our cruise ship in Papeete. It was a big let down after visiting the other islands. It's dirty, crowded, & expensive . The best thing to do there is to take the ferry to Moorea for the day! We did have a very nice ride around the island of Tahiti with Marama tours, The island is quite beautiful once you get out of Papeete.
We enjoyed the large Papeete market, the waterfront and our tour of the east coast with Unique Tahiti tours
A real neighborhood, good way to see how local Tahitians live. Chinese at Le Feng Shui was a treat.
Market in Papeete was great - bought and cooked local fruits and veggies - like sea grapes! Must get out and take a tour of the island - much more to see than downtown Papeete. Tracey Thomas/Unique Tahiti was great - all day West Coast Tour.
Great to stopover stay when arriving or leaving Tahiti as so close to airport. Taxi fares are rather high as NZ$28.00 for very short ride, but necessary if you have luggage as Faaa is up step steps by foot.
Teahupoo is at the end of the long road from Papeete on Tahiti Iti. Although it takes a litle while to get there, it is quiet, out of the way. You must have a car and traffic out of Papeete maybe be heavy. We are at a couple food trucks along the way and there is a Carrefour supermarket not far in the town of Taravao.
It is a small rundown town with sweet people who are living in fear of the French government. One night and two days is plenty of time to see the town and don't forget to see the Heiva I Tahiti show. The food is very limited and always get sealed bottled water!
I had an amazing time at A Pueu Village. The bungalow is in a large garden. The sea is 5 meters in front of you with all day calm water for swimming and snorkelling. Because it is so far away from the touristy things (restaurants, hotels and shops), there is a sense of retreat. You'd feel like living in the village with real tahiti life around you. Victor, his wife and daughter are very kind and thoughtful. They offered a lot of help to make sure I had a good stay. Many thanks for everything during my stay.
Don't stay in downtown Papeete unless you like all the traffic and city noise. Resorts outside of town offer shuttles to the city if you want to go. Beautiful views all around the island and the Tahitians are very friendly!
This is a typical town without charm, public transportation is efficient , tourist traffic sustains the economy, basic needs are often hard to meet: changing money is a hassle, especially since weekend closure of banks is definitive, public entertainment is always limited, this city is the only entry point to the attractive atolls in Tahiti for the airplane tourists, streets are not clean, vagrants will approach tourists, car rentals are often exhorbitant, local people are friendly, use of English is limited, local food at night stalls is good indeed, freighters will take passengers to outer islands and perimeters,it is possible to negotiate prices for airline tickets with available discount vouchers or identification ( cards can be secured for senior citizens, etc). Treat this city as a necessary intermediate stopover on your way to the outer islands...some of which will disappear soon and forever as climate changes raise water levels...paradise anon!

I don't know where to even begin...... the property was absolutely stunning. It was the most gorgeous yard and pool I've ever seen. But most importantly were the beautiful hosts. They were the most generous and kind people we have met in our 6 months travelling. They couldn't do enough for you. The bungalow was also spotless, beautifully decorated and so cozy. Great private porch. Fully stocked kitchen. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Tahiti and I miss our new friends. Hope to see them soon!!!

Our stay here was wonderful! We landed in Papeete Sunday evening and Beni was waiting for us in the arrival hall smiling. The location was 5 minutes from the airport. The room was immaculate and the AC was helpful in the humidity. We spent the morning walking around town (10-15 minutes into the heart of Papeete) and came back to the hotel for coffee and a free transfer to the ferry quay. Overall this was the perfect place to spend a night and get acquainted with Tahiti.

The grounds, views, and ambiance are perfect. The restaurant is excellent as well. After being on a cruise and and at a nearby 4 star hotel, it was wonderful to experience a more realistic Tahitian/French setting. I loved walking every morning to the nearby store to buy pain au chocolate. We were very comfortable, but If you have to have air conditioning, constant WiFi, or a gecko free bathroom, this isn’t the place for you. Oh, and the pool is very refreshing.

This place is close to a grocery store, bakery, a Walmart type store, and a truck eating place that was “sit down “ eating and excellent. In addition, close to the ferry and waterfront and a music stadium. Walk to Royal Tahitian for food, dancing, food easy. Lodge is secluded and quiet, owner suggested places to go, and helped with transportation. Continental breakfasts with fresh fruit were well done. Off the beaten path and well worth it! Bring shampoo!

We stayed on landing in Tahiti, it's not a 5 star, but was easy to get to from the airport. Very relaxed atmosphere, offering a perfectly servicable room for normal people with a ground floor walk out to the manicured grounds and an ocean view (not much beach, but nice view). The restaurant, in a separate building, was surprisingly good and reasonable, with tables on the water, and service was fine. Price was very good.

Good choice for a few days in Tahiti. The owners were lovely and welcoming, and the atmosphere to meet travellers in the common areas. Lovely breakfast choice, and loved the communal setting! Very far out of the city, but good if you want to explore the island. As said, the dorm is very very small, but the single rooms seem quite nice, and the common areas are lovely.

Jean-Denis was the perfect host. He picked us up at the airport and made us feel right at home. He was very accomodating and was able to assist us in transportation during our stay and joined us for a wonderful dinner at a restuarant he recommended. I would highly recommend Chalet Tahiti to anyone visiting French Polynesia!!

The location is excellent for the airport, but be wary of the very steep uphill climb to this hotel. It's not just very close to the airport it kind of sits above it. If you don't have rolling luggage take the taxi. Taxi fare is fixed and non-negotiable on Tahiti, so this 3-minute ride will set you back $20.

The host, Vainui, was great. She was very friendly, and immensely helpful with planning my stay (advice on excursions, calling up places for tickets, booking transport to the airport). It was also interesting to talk with her about life in Tahiti. The garden and common areas were very pleasant.

Tahiti Pearl is a beautiful resort located right on a black sand beach. We were fortunate enough to be there on a night that they have their cultural show, which was excellent, in the bar area. The restaurant food was excellent and the pool area was amazing.

Hina is a gem. I have been to FP twice. Last time I stayed in Tahiti airport hotel, this time with Hina. This option was much better—nicer accommodations, kitchen, good ac, and hina’s lovely smiling face and presence. Bring earplugs for the roosters.

Location was exactly as described, very close to the ferry terminal, which for us was great as both days we took the ferry to Moorea. Good price in Tahiti, knowing that staying there can get expensive really quickly.

The host was wonderful and the wifi was too! The location was near everything downtown from shops to places to eat. The Air Tahiti booking office was nearby making it easy to get more info about other islands.

Really clean. Perfect set up like a small apartment. Location is not too far from downtown/airport and close to small beaches. Perfect if you have a car. It is a great place for a quick taste of Tahiti

Close to city center, friendly staff, and very clean. Papeete wasn’t amazing but we found the Tahiti Nui a very good hotel for the value. Walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and shops.
