The staff was truly wonderful—every single person we met was kind, attentive, and genuinely interested in how we were feeling and what we were doing. From the reception team to security, everyone went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The team was always reachable via WhatsApp, which made everything even more convenient. We always felt very safe and well taken care of. They supported us in every little detail, and it honestly felt like being at home. We’ve never experienced hospitality quite like this, and we already miss them. Our room was beautifully decorated and always spotless. The housekeeping lady was an absolute treasure. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location, but what made our stay truly special were the people. A very very special thanks to Remy and Renz for going the extra mile every single time! ❤️

The accommodation is super central. Everything is easily accessible on foot: the town center, the best coffee shops, and the start of hiking trails. Most activities are a 10–15 minute walk maximum. I did everything on foot (massages, cafés, drawing, etc.), except for the hot springs. Cleanliness and Comfort: My room was very clean, spacious, and well-equipped. The view is extraordinary, and the food available is also very good. Value: The value for money here is truly excellent. I must admit, I was caught by a double surprise! First, the photos online DO NOT do justice to the quality of this establishment. Thank goodness for the comments, as they truly reflect the reality! The second surprise was the exceptional welcome. The staff is extremely attentive and genuinely caring. As soon as I arrived, they offered me breakfast for the next day and asked about my plans to arrange a driver or provide recommendations. After mentioning it was my birthday, they prepared a beautiful room with a small surprise and even a 'Happy Birthday' video! Truly 5-star service

The location is a little remote, but that makes it better… I arrived much later than expected and the night staff was lovely, and showed me to my room - which felt like a full comfort treehouse. The walk to the restaurant, after sunset, takes a magical appearance, with small warm lights hanging in the mangroves.

We had a great stay! Jimmy and Nico are great people and great hosts. Amazing view from the newly built and beautiful bungalow. Location wise - 10-15 min walk from a beautiful beach and 1 min walk from two good restaurants (Green hill and Jungle bar). A short boat ride (taxi boat) or isch 30 min tuc tuc ride (bumby road but so worth it) from Port Barton.

The chief Richard was a superstar for this place! He made us feel like home, not only with the food he served but also his kind person. He was so helpful. The beds are big and really comfort. Nice nice and cool local area. Here you get the real local fili feeling. There are no space for luggage or for food (we travel with small kids) but Richard help with that too.

For sure the best accommodation of our 3 weeks in the Philippines. The place is quite secluded, far from all the tourists, and yet you can get around easily (ideally with a scooter which they can get for you). The villas are absolutely stunning. Indoor/outdoor living on point. You can fully open the french windows on two sides of the villa, but it will still feel very private thanks to the vegetation that surrounds it. Beautifully designed and super comfortable (especially the beds - the best sleep of the trip). Last but not least, the hosts - Carl and PY - made us feel like home. They are both amazing people putting all their hearts and so much passion into this. Thanks a lot again!

This resort completely exceeded our expectations. Having stayed at multiple high-end resorts, I can attest that this resort is up there with the best. The villa couldn't have been better, with a calming view overlooking the sea. I was absolutely delighted with the à la carte breakfast, which offered plenty of fresh delicious options. The facilities are very well-thought-out, with beautiful and inviting décor, and are impeccably maintained. The island has plenty of nature to appreciate, from its lush vegetation to its different bird species, hermit crabs, monkeys, and some very shy monitor lizards. The resort has a decent range of activities that can keep you busy and entertained on rainy days (if you get them—we did [Oct'25]). The massage therapists were excellent. We took some island hopping activities which were absolutely unforgettable. The resort guide showed us around the big lagoon in kayaks, and afterwards we swam in an amazing spot where we got to view lots of coral fish, blazing-fast 40kg jackfish swimming around us, and sea turtles! Last but not least, the staff surpassed all levels of customer service we have ever experienced—it was quite simply the best, most attentive, and warm and professional. Our stay was short, but El Nido Pangulasian was able to capture our hearts, and we will definitely return many times over.

Unique and luxury experience. Lovely island, amazing coral reefs just 10 meters from the beach. The bed was the biggest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Breakfasts are great. The restaurant is also mainly great, though some positions like pizza are much worse in quality and taste than other dishes. Lots of things to do on an island and also several tours available. Would definitely come back again and already recommended to many of our friends.

The staff at the Funny Lion are all incredibly friendly and helpful - service is genuinely 5 star and some of the best I've experienced in the world. We were kindly upgraded to a better room which was amazing, and also meant we could use the second pool right outside the room which was really convenient and a bit quieter. Every meal we had at the Funny Lion was delicious. Rooftop bar was also great for a cocktail or two in the evening.

PROS: Staff very friendly and helpful, natural surrounding areas great (although some of the nature walks showed lack of maintenance). The trees were even labeled! resort grounds and rooms well-maintained and clean. CONS: Resort was far from main town center via 20 min tricycle ride and no grocery store in resort.

The airport and almost all hotels are located on Busuanga (the neighbour island of Coron). There is hardly anything to see here. Neither nice beaches nor varied landscapes. You have to take boat trips to the neighbouring island of Coron or go diving. Both are great. Coron with its lakes, lagoons, caves and beaches is amazing. The underwater world is more varied than in El Nido, Moalboal or Boracay.

The most important things to do here its the underground...

The most important things to do here its the underground river located in a cave about 2h drive away from the hotel by van to the National park. Also its nice to travel down the south for Balabac but I personally picked North up to El Nido for more Island Hoppings.

Port Barton was just the right place to chill out and spend...

Port Barton was just the right place to chill out and spend our last 5 days in the Philippines. The island hopping tours rival El Nido and Coron and the coral reefs and marine life some of the best we experienced. Plenty of good food options and beach bars.

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit,...

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit, put this one on your list. It's relatively uncrowded, the people are very pleasant and the vistas are jaw dropping. If you are a diver, and have an interest in WWII, you will find an incredible 11 Japanese wrecks to dive. I'd recommend Pirate Divers, they are very professional and very conservative when it comes to evaluating risks. They also know the wrecks like their second home. Coron is a bustling town with good food and pleasant people, but the beauty of the island is the back country. I liked it enough in December that I'm returning in February. To get around, I'd suggest renting a scooter. If you are new to powered two wheel vehicles stay out of Coron, and pay attention to the roads, there are some surprisingly tight turns. Otherwise, since it is relatively uncrowded you should be fine.

A delightful quiet backwater and so far less developed town.

A delightful quiet backwater and so far less developed town. The beaches were beautiful and mostly clean. The town has plenty of activities to offer and places to eat. The whole place is walkable but you may want a Tuktuk or moped to visit further beaches.

If you intend to visit Palawan you need to be more informed than I was. The Philippines are a poor country. Accommodation is cheap and as such you get what you paid for - No hot water, some cockroaches, you cannot swim in the water because of the jellyfish, plenty of sandflies and no shop to get any relief medication. There is no way to move around unless you organize transfers that cost you as much as your accommodation. A must see if you would like to see the culture. We were unable to snorkel due to weather

Small coastal town with vibrant local shops/bars and great vibes. Good area for island hopping and a lot of beautiful beaches close by. Main street is closed in the evening which makes it even better.

The damage from the previous typoons is still present. There are numerous bars, I recommend the Pacifico Bar, they have Octoberfest sized mugs to hold the Red Horse Beer. It is 50 Pesos each way from the hotel to town and back. On the island tours, the outhouses are the absolute bare minimum, a toilet, no seat, no tank, no TP, a bucket and a ladle and no sink. Wear grippy water shoes, the stairs are slippery. Go see the Coral Garden, elsewhere all the other fish are <5" and no coral. Unless you go to the the Coral Garden, the crystal kayak is a waste of money. Still I had a great time, the staff did an amazing job, life is an adventure!
