We had to stay an extra night on Bohol due to a flight cancellation. The Mayana Resort was an excellent choice for that night, being located close to the airport, the Tagbilaran port and some really beautiful beaches of Panglao Island. The food is excellent and special, featuring some Swiss-influenced dishes as well as a range of dishes with ostrich (something you will rarely find in most ASEAN countries). Also worth mentioning is the great value for money.

Everything! Quite literally. Rooms are very spacious, clean & have good interiors. The staff is very helpful & polite. We requested a vegetarian breakfast, which is not very common here in the Philippines. But they gave us good options and tried to understand our food preference. Swimming pool is huge with the well resting area by the side.

I’ve travelled to about 30 counties and out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in, this is by far the most amazing hotel. Every single staff member goes out of their way to anticipate your needs, they are the friendliest people in the world. The owners are absolutely incredible and took time to get to know us. they are so so accommodating and went out of their way to make my moms birthday extremely special. the property itself is absolutely amazing. extremely quiet, clean, beautiful, and the view is one of the best I’ve seen! the food is delicious and the massage that we each had for 1 hour was the best massage I’ve had during my 4 months in Asia. don’t hesitate to book this hotel!! you won’t regret it. Thank you to Eric for driving us, Alex, Luche, Ariel and all the others. truly impossible to find something we didn’t love about this place

The property is nice, new and clean and looks exactly like the pictures. Room service was provided everyday including water. The host was courteous, responsive, and provided helpful information to do around the island. The location is perfect as it’s tucked away from the main road and it’s only a few minutes walk to the restaurants on the main road.

The quiet surroundings were a highlight, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Being next to the beach was fantastic, offering beautiful views and easy access to the shore. The pool was a great addition for a refreshing swim, and the breakfast served was delicious and satisfying. There were a few board game options available, which made for fun evenings as an option. I appreciated the ample outside seating areas, ideal for enjoying the fresh air. The room was also cozy and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helped book our excursion adding to the pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

Clean lots to like many amenities for kids not too far walk on beach to really nice swimming beach (beach in front can’t really swim). Wouldn’t pay upgrade for room view as most even floor seem to have view and pretty small balconies with tiny bench you don’t want to spend too much time on anyway. Gorgeous property though. Love dvd library and games to play with kids who get bored easily. On whole great would stay again. Only snafu was laundry so expensive and they messed up by not getting back to me in day. But small thing. Great restaurant too.

Excellent staff, everyone was super friendly. You will enjoy the beautiful white sand beach, not much to see but very relaxing. We rented the stand up paddle(750php) which we enjoyed from 7am. The food was fantastic too. We went on a private tour with them to visit the chocolate hills, tartier and loboc river cruise. Although we had a tight schedule, they had an talented driver whom calculated the time perfectly.

The hotel is far from luxurious, but offers all basic necessities for a family holiday. The staff is exceptional -- well mannered, cheerful, and very helpful; from the receptionists, to the waitresses at the restaurant, probably the best experience we've ever had in the Philippines. They also offer tours to visit different attractions and tourist spots around the island at a decent price.

Spacious for our family group size of 10. Rooms are big enough for large parties. We booked 2 family villas near the pool area and it was great. They also accommodated all our special requests (crib for baby, shuttle transport service for Alona Beach, Mist and Airport). The staff are all friendly and nice. It has been a memorable family trip!

The advantage of being self-catering is that you can get European bread and sausages. As well good foreign Restaurants. Except for the area in Alona, ​​riding a motorcycle is very safe. Snorkeling and diving in Balicasag and Napaling Reef nice. Bohol daily trips anyway

We have not maximized our Panglao trip but since we rented...

We have not maximized our Panglao trip but since we rented an Oceanview room, we get all the sea energy we needed haha. Virgin Island was also close during our stay so we have to come back for that some other time. Beach in general is perfect especially Alona Beach side.

Really recommend Bohol Farm!

Really recommend Bohol Farm! Their ice cream is incredible, and the food is great too. We got a tour of the farm, which was super nice. Getting around is quite easy, there are three main road that go around the island, and there are tuktuks for hire everywhere. I rented a moped, which actually felt quite safe, as there were few big cars. Alona beach is definitely worth a visit. I'd recommend doing a countryside tour too, to see a lot of the sights of Bohol in one day.

Panglao was nice and we did some great scuba diving (highly recommend Sierra Madre Divers - Cynthia was the best dive guide!) from here but I think there are much nicer islands/places to visit for other activities. In all fairness, our 2nd tour of the island got canceled due to weather so we ran out of time to see more of the island.

You can get enough of the non-oceanic tourist attractions in 2 days. The snorkeling is why I love it. You need to go to a Marine Sanctuary for the good snorkeling, although a few resorts have decent house reefs. DON'T go on one of the snorkeling/island hopping tours which are promoted at many places, especially by hawkers at Alona Beach. None of the boat motors have mufflers. They will leave you at a substandard restaurant on Balicasag Island for an outrageous length of time. Tag along on a dive boat, which you can arrange at most dive shops.
