"There is plenty to do and many places nearby to visit. Ideal for skiing/snowboarding holidays with many slopes and other activities. Many local markets and shops up and down the high street, with a large car park at the bottom. Gubałówka and Kasprowy Wierch are worth multiple visits and are accessible by public transport from town. With some walking but also alternative transport is the amazing Tatry National Park. I can recommend Morskie Oko in particular. After a long day skiing the Zakopane Aqua Park is a good place to go as it is local and has many amazing facilities. Make sure you leave on time, though, if you don't want an extra fee!"

"It's a brilliant resort. Lovely gentle pistes, affordable restaurants, ski hire and passes. Everything is relaxed but it is super organised. Highly recommend but just for a few days. Due to the price being less than normal ski resorts we were able to enjoy other activities such as skidoos, thermal baths, meals out etc. It's was great!"

"Our first time to this area and we were really taken by everything about it - the scenery is immense, the people so friendly, the food and drink very good and excellent value for money. We did 7 different experiences in our 7 days - lakes, mountain hikes, bikes, visit to Krakow (and Oscar Schindler factory), aquapark, stunning caves just over the border in Slovakia…really would recommend this area"

"It was an excellent choice. We were not familiar with it at all but the location was great, our accommodation lovely and there were so many things to do and at reasonable pricing. We'd recommend it absoutely. We were hoping for more snow but accept that was not something controllable 😂. However, historically, the time when we were there (29 Jan to 5 Feb) was the time of the most snow and lowest temps but the locals told us that for the past two years they had had their snow earlier and apparently a week or two before we arrived there had been a lot of snow."

Zakopane is the capital of the Tatra mountains . Be prepared for the crowds at all seasons. There are plenty to see and experience, especially if you’re looking for the physical activity. Nice hiking trails, kayak and rafting on the river, mountain biking, local art fairs and festivals, variety of restaurants and shops.

Great little town.

Great little town. Loved easy ski slopes in Bukowina, short distance - about 20min to Jurgow and Bachledova. Some great restaurants, friendly people. Abundance of deli shops, few atm’s, occasional traffic around roundabout. Terrible internet in this region.

Poronin is a nice little town, far from Zakopane’s crowds so perfect for those looking for a quiet place. Zakopane is only 10 to 15 minutes drive from Poronin so it’s easy to get there entertained if needed. However, having own car in Poronin is a must as public transport is not great.

Biały Dunajec is a small town not far from Zakopane. You'll most likely travel through here, but it's also perfect for staying the night. Good hospitality awaits those who visit the Tatra mountains either for sking or other forms of recreation.

Great location for both hiking and as a base for visiting multiple tourist attractions by car. Even if you want to visit Zakopane, it is within easy reach from Murzasichle but you do not need to spent all the time in those extreme crowds in Zakopane on popular dates.

Nice and calm village with beautiful architecture, nice surroundings and good civic amenities. The citizens were pleasant and helpful. We appreciated convenience of the Zabka store in the middle of the village, just close to the local church. This store offered a good selection of goods, from basic necessities to snacks and beverages, and even had a tasty coffee for those who needed a pick-me-up. The store was well-stocked and provided a convenient and accessible option for all of our needs, which added to the overall enjoyment of our stay in the area.

I really enjoyed walking around the town centre, visiting Krupówki and Gubałówka, and especially the trip to Morskie Oko, which was absolutely worth the effort. The mountain scenery is stunning, the atmosphere is lively, and there are many restaurants offering traditional local food. Getting to the main attractions by public transport was fairly easy, although some places can become quite crowded and the weather can change very quickly. Overall, I had a very enjoyable visit and would gladly return in the future.
