All the staff were outstanding in helping with our trip to this marvelous location in such a serene area of Portugal. My only regret is we did not arrange to stay in the hotel longer. Super help from our server for supper. John our server not only made our evening feel very special but he also made some wonderful suggestions for the rest of our trip including somewhere to find some cheese that we enjoyed with our supper. We both found the cod main course splendid. Your staff made this short stay for us feeling relaxed and ready to continue our journey.

This is a fantastic hotel in a not too visited part of North Portugal, even Guarda would worth the attention of the travellers. We loved the design of the building, and the interieur, which was very friendly, even some reconstruction work was ongoing. The breakfast was excellent, wide variety of foods, fresh, crispy baked rolls, salamis etc. The restaurant served excellent foods for dinner. The staff in the restaurant was extremely polite, and kind at the same time.

Found this place somewhat randomly and spent 3 night in their basic rooms, with the deck. The architecture, interior design, food, and most importantly service were impeccable and very high value for the money we spent. Especially the staff.. they went above an beyond to make sure you felt welcome and pampered. Great location if you want to spend a bit of time away and up in the mountains (hills) of Portugal. Highly recommended. p.s. We did make a stop for dinner at the higher rated (5 star) hotel owned by the same group. This location compared to that felt nicer. Both the interior design and people felt a lot warmer here.

The Hotel Da Fabrica in Manteigas was MORE than EXCELLENT. The staff was WONDERFUL! We met the owner of Hotel da Fabrica several times during our stay, which only added to our enjoyment, because he showed a personal interest in us. The Room was SUPER CLEAN and the Shower was GREAT, nice and large. The VIEW was BREATHTAKING. The view from our room was like being in Switzerland. It was our little Switzerland while in Portugal. Though a small hotel, the BREAKFAST was EXCEPTIONAL better than some larger hotels we stayed in. The scrambled eggs were like eating at home. The Breakfast was just GREAT!

I was so happy to visit this region of Portugal. The highlands. I came to ski. And Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela was my Home Base. The hotel was lovely, and the staff were fantastic! The first shift Receptionist Tuesday morning was Super Helpful and lovely! Can you thank her for me? (I didn’t get her name unfortunately…) Also, a special thank you to Luis. We had dinner at the Restaurant Medieval. And it was Wonderful!!! Great, friendly staff, and excellent food… I will visit again for sure!!!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. I really loved the way they displayed the historic elements of wool into the decor. The pool area was lovely. We had a nice quiet room. The breakfast was plentiful and had lots to choose from. Staff was wonderful. Large parking lots of spots. We took an UBER into the old part of the city for dinner and it was only about 5€. Free bottle of water in our room was a nice touch.

Covilhã is a wonderful place to stay, the gateway to nature trails and stunning landscapes. Seia is a nice little city with plenty of cultural sites, restaurants, and shops. In general people are very nice and welcome visitors. Nature surrounding the city are beautiful and there are many short and long hiking trails around.

Not too much to do in the fall. Quiet city. Pretty city from far views in the mountain, very few places where you can try cheese selections with good wine. The wool factories are a key attraction like Burel. Finding great servings of the Serra da Estrela cheese should be easier.

Guarda is a beautiful city.

Guarda is a beautiful city. In 1 day I walked to all the major sites and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Another day would have been ideal. Part of Guarda is exposed to the wind so if you go November December time be prepared with warm clothing.

Unhais da Serra is a very small town.

Unhais da Serra is a very small town. It has one outstanding restaurant - As Thermas and another couple of ones that are good options as well. A couple of local shops that carry the delicious cheeses, charcuterie and liquors made in Serra da Estrela. We always stop to replenish or stock - we prefer the tiny mini-market, but the fancier shop has sweatshirts, slippers and interesting items as well. It's the perfect get-away for rest and relaxation. We park the car at the H2otel and do walking to everywhere we need to go over the weekend. I'd say a 3-4 night stay is ideal.

Loriga is such a characterful mountain village with...

Loriga is such a characterful mountain village with everything you need for a short stay. Its location in the Serra da Estrela is perfect for hiking, as well as swimming in its fabulous praia fluvial. It has plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars etc. It's very steep though and much of it is not easily accessible by car. Try O Solar restaurant and also O Vicente...both serve excellent food.

Covilhã is very interesting to visit. Lots to see.

Covilhã is very interesting to visit. Lots to see. Many restaurants and cafes. Taverna a Laranjinha is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. Staff just fantastic and food excellent. Amazing interesting town.

The only issue was I thought we were getting one space and...

The only issue was I thought we were getting one space and we got another. Otherwise, the place was beautiful and clean. The hosts were beyond gracious...welcoming, wonderful. We will definitely go back. It was an extraordinary and wonderful trip.
