The decor is beautiful and everything was clean and well kept. Breakfast was good and parking just outside the hotel with no problems. They gave us a room upgrade which was amazing. Great location to visit the Cittadella in the evening.

The town is cute and clean.

The town is cute and clean. I’ve spent of my time in the castle/old town. If you like history, you should definitely visit. The walls of this fortified castle have witnessed an incredible amount of history starting with the Roman times. Alba Iulia played a big role in Europe’s path towards democracy.

Sebes is a pleasing blend of old and new.

Sebes is a pleasing blend of old and new. The wood industry is the main employer and it is not without controversyy. There is a busy Green Party office in the centre. On the positive side there is full employment which accentuates the underlying friendliness of a place I had visited before when times were not so easy. On my first day I accidentally dropped a small piece of paper from my pocket while walking along the main street. This was spotted by a driver in slow-moving traffic who called out: 'sir you dropped something!' The centre has some nice public buldings and churches and there is a very good restaurant called 'Crema Turm' where I ate twice and which is easy to spot.

Cabana Daria3 was a perfect choice for our trip, for 2 families with children. The property contains 3 houses, but it is big enough that we felt it private. The property was clean and tidy, equipped with everything what you need for a few days trip. in area of 20-30 min by car there are a planty of locations to wisit, caves, waterfalls, hiking routes.

It is a small village, but well placed to visit the...

It is a small village, but well placed to visit the surroundings. We hiked on Petreasa Peak, second day we went to visit some caves and waterfalls. The location is close to Arieseni (mountain area, ski area, with a lot of things to do). There are some gems to visit in the nearby (Scarisoara, Pestera Poarta lui Ionele, Izbucul Tauz)

Beautiful village, well preserved, quiet and very good to...

Beautiful village, well preserved, quiet and very good to relax. There is restaurant, bars where you can serve meals or have a nice relaxing drink. The local food is delicious. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking and is absolutely lovely to enjoy long walks in nature.

We came to the city for a competition, so we didn’t have much time for walks, but we still went up the hill, which offers a magnificent view. By the way, you can even drive up there by car. The road to the city itself (20 kilometers from the highway) is about four out of five, but if you’re not in a rush, it’s fine.

Fascinating place, very symbolic to the Romanian people, though Hungarians may have different thouths. Lots of fascinating views in the citadel. But also the surroundings are worth while. Recommended strongly!

Nice town..lots of interesting things everywhere but you...

Nice town..lots of interesting things everywhere but you need to spend time looking. Check out Mr Binders House and the birthplace of a guy named Carl Filtsch..he was a child prodigy of Chopin but died when he was only 14. Around the corner is a list of local citizens sent off to the Romanian and Russian gulags..never to return. And oddly enough if you are from Australia or from New Zealand there is a cafe in town that makes and sells Pavlova...

Arieseni is one of my darling ski resorts, since my youth, when it was just a village with a snowy hill closeby. Today is a tourist destination in Transylvania and Apuseni Mountains, a hub for both day trips or weklong backpacking hikes. There are caves and canyons to visit, horseback rides, steam train adventures and just breathtaking beauty landscapes. There are plenty of family restaurants (if you are looking for a McDonalds, you're in the wrong place), with delicious local food (try the trout, the polenta or the thick gulash soup). Visit the unique caves of Scarisoara (the world biggest ice cave) or Bears Cave, where 141 cave bears died 17000 years ago) or ride the vintage steam train along the Aries Valley.

See it and belive it -You must see this place Entrance to the city from the West will give you a panoramic view of this beautiful city. -The Northern par you can go up the hill and watch the most amazing Sunset over the city. This view is breathtaking, night and day, Sunrise to Sunset. The small cute sign on the side of the hill BLAJ it is so nice. Day and Night . The Central Park you must visit type of place , walk around , relax, enjoy the water-fountain.
