This place really exceeded our expectations and was incredible value for money. Tina our host was so helpful. The whole building's decor, brightness and build quality was first class, especially our room. Bed was super comfortable, shower lovely, nice and light with lots of windows and a balcony and room was heated well. We had excellent home cooked food on-site which was delicious. Cannot fault this place. The host also let us play with her adorable two cats which made the stay even more special! Will definitely stay here again when I'm back in Romania and would happily recommend to friends!

A great hotel in Craiova. There is free parking right outside the hotel in a secure area. The receptionist has to let you in. The room was very big and had a lovely, big comfortable bed. Its spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a one night stay including a fridge. There is also aircon and the room was centrally heated. A TV on the wall. A large bathroom and large shower with lots of hot water. There is also a desk. Great wifi. We had the breakfast included and there was a lot to choose from. The coffee machine did great coffee too and it was hot!

Staying at Hotel Relax & Ballroom was a great experience, especially with the host's kindness. They were able to arrange a very late check-in around 2 a.m. The hotel entrance is secured by a locked door with an access code after midnight, so you just need to ring to get in. After getting the room card from the reception desk, it was straight to bed. What really made the stay exceptional was that they had left breakfast in the mini-bar for me to enjoy in my room whenever I woke up—a truly five-star touch. It's a top-notch place with warm, kind, and customer-oriented people.

I had some serious problems when I arrived at Hotel Rexton, among other things I had a desperate need to get to a Western Union office to pick up cash, and it turned out Friday 14th was holiday with many offices closed (Orthodox Easter). The receptionist at Hotel Rexton that Friday at 10AM was the most helpful hotel employee I have met in my life. She sorted out all practical problems for me, and I will always remember that. Apart from that: room was spacious and great, bed very good, also working desk, and breakfast also good.

The room was so modern and it exactly fit my style (bonus points for the colour palette, grey is one of my favourite colours for a room). What I liked more than the room actually, were all of the art pieces in the hall, stairs, reception and restaurant. Not only that I am an art fanatic, but I am also in love with greek culture and history, so for me, the whole vibe that the HB blew my mind up. Will totally come back again and recommend the place to acquaintances.

Great location, they have their own parking, very polite staff. Nice and clean rooms. Tasty breakfast with lots of food choice. I recommend this to anyone staying to Craiova. And dont forget to visit the Nicolae Romanescu park, one of the most beautiful parks in Romania.

The property is situated within 10 minutes walking distance of the Old City Centre. The room was absolutely huge and very clean. I have also asked for a wake up call at 3 am in the morning and the receptionist made sure we wake up.It does worth all the money.Well done!

The Christmas market is a scam!

The Christmas market is a scam! Buy food at other restaurants, better and bigger portions for less! Ribs House in particular was a great restaurant, very friendly and welcoming with amazing food, must try the Papanași.

Craiova is a beatufil city with a great combination of modern and old. You can easily find any and all modern amenities - top-notch public transport, shopping centers and malls, exquisite restaurants and fancy hotels. If you have the time to take a stroll through town, you'll be amazed by all the perfectly preserved and renovated old buildings, dozens of cultural monuments and greatly maintained parks and public areas. The main downside is the over-abundance of cars - traffic's a pain! Good thing their public transport is very convenient and the city is very walkable!

Craiova is really only worth visiting during the Christmas...

Craiova is really only worth visiting during the Christmas market. Aside from that, from what I could see, there isn’t much that’s particularly worth visiting or seeing. Nicolae Romanescu Park might be worth a visit, but definitely not in winter — there is very little foliage and too many birds on the branches, which creates a real chance of getting hit by droppings. There is also a zoo in the park, and the animals can be seen from the park.
