The property was on a large block of land with natural beauty surrounding it. It was peaceful and serene. Maria was excellent in every way possible. From greeting us, breakfast (all locally made produce), dinner (Maria’s own recipes) and helping us communicate with attraction opening hours. The whole experience was unforgettable. If ever we return to the Maramures we will definitely stay at Pensiunea Mara. Definitely recommend this property.

Super Clean, the spa is getting cleaned every single morning, the room are well build and designed to fit in everything perfectly. The closets are huge.
Exceptional Breakfast and the stuff is super friendly and helpful. You can compare it to Balvanyos, but if you take into consideration the price for what you get, Hotel Roman is the winner for sure!

Baia Mare is a fascinating city that is constantly evolving while still preserving its unique character and connection to the traditions of Maramureș. The historic center, beautiful surroundings, and welcoming atmosphere make it a wonderful place to discover.
We especially enjoyed the lovely restaurants, the excellent food, and the warm and welcoming people. The hospitality here is truly special, and you can feel the genuine friendliness everywhere you go.
We were impressed by the positive energy and the many signs of development throughout the city. Baia Mare has so much potential and is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for visitors.
A beautiful city with heart, character, and a bright future. We will definitely come back!

Vișeu de Sus is a very good choice for a successful vacation, because: you can walk with Mocanița(steam-powered locomotive), you can hike to the Horse Waterfall, you can visit the Bârsana Monastery or the Merry Cemetery in Săpânța. In Vișeu you can find generous gastronomy and, especially, delicious homemade cakes, fabulous croissants and great coffee, at Cofetăria Arthur.

Breb is a farytale like place. Amazing scenery, lovely people, lovely homes and streets. You also have restaurants and shops, but for "shopping" we recommend buying food from the locals. The best food there is.

Borsa was previously the center of Marmarosz mining region.
Borsa was previously the center of Marmarosz mining region. The town developed mainly for miners was not beautiful. If the authorities of Borsa wish to transform the town to the touristic centre, the city must completely be renown. The renovation of old architecture is necessary. Open electric lines along every street must be cancelled, and all cables should be nested under the ground. Much more operations must be done to transform Borsa into a genuine touristic centre. Touristic resorts mus possess a unique and specific atmospere to attract domestic and foreign tourist.. I suggest the authorities of Borsa to visit Mayerhofen in Austrian Tirol or even Zakopane in Poland. At present time Borsa is attractive for those who are interested in mountain hiking. Greater numer of pathes should be marked, and kept in good conditions. Detailed maps of Munti Rodnei should be available.

Moisei is a cute mountain village located in Romania's Maramures region. It is home to the Moisei Monastery which is well worth a visit. The area is very scenic and nearby hiking trails lead in the Rodna National Park. For some real fun, bring your ATV. The area is full of wonderful scenic views of the valleys, pastures, forest, and mountains. Sunset was especially spectacular.

Our stay here was simply outstanding.
Our stay here was simply outstanding. The accommodation is designed in beautiful traditional Romanian folk style – everything was clean, new, and absolutely charming. Parking was perfect for motorcycles, safely inside the courtyard.
The host was amazing – he spoke excellent English, and in the evening we had a great conversation about his country. He even offered us his own homemade pálinka without asking for any extra payment. We enjoyed dinner on a gorgeous terrace, where he had prepared plates and cutlery for us free of charge.
In the morning, as soon as we woke up, coffee was already prepared without us even having to ask. And just 10 meters from the accommodation is the famous Merry Cemetery, which we could enjoy all to ourselves early in the morning.
A perfect place with true Romanian warmth and hospitality – highly recommended!

There are 2 main attractions in the area, Creasta Cocosului...
There are 2 main attractions in the area, Creasta Cocosului and Lacul Albastru. The hiking trail to Creasta Cocosului is amazing. It's about 4-6 hours, 12 km round-trip, passing through forests, meadows and at the end climbing a peak from where you can see all the mountains in the area. The first 5 km are easy to do, mostly walking on flat surface, while the last km is more difficult, climbing continuously until you reach the peak. Access to the hiking trail can be done on a very winding road, but very well built, and there is also a large parking area right at the start of the trail (opposite Hanul Tentea-Pasul Gutai, that offers accommodation and really great food).
Lacul Albastru is also a great attraction, there is a parking area right at the start of the trail. From there, you have to climb for 10-15 minutes to reach the lake, which has a very beautiful color in the summer.

One of the most beautiful cities of Romania, with everything in a walking distance, but in this moment a lot of constructions are undergoing so it is a bit messy. Nevertheless the park, museums and bulevards are still nice spots to spend time with your dear ones. A lot of other palces nice to visit too: Firiza dam, Mogosa skiing slope with its lake, Ferneziu blue lake.
