Almost everything: the room with the big balcony, the pool, the geothermal water in the pool or "ciubăr", parking place, the restaurant, the terrace from the pool, the beach towels in the room. The thing that I liked the most was the respectful stuff!!! I have never seen such nice people and always responding in a calm, respectful and smiling way!! 10 points for the massage, also: devine!!

Where do I start, I loved this hotel so much we booked again on return trip, location excellent, great parking for large van, staff friendly, food fantastic, the rooms are beautiful, beds and bed linen super comfy, tea, coffee machine, water, fridge, everything in room, we stayed at back of hotel which allowed us to have balcony door open for fresh air, no real noise after 10pm even though right on road

Very nice family run place where you feel imediatelly very welcomed and taken care of. Ideal for families as there is playground, pool, football/basketball possibilities, cat and dogs(our daughter adored). Owners serve wonderful home cooked food many of what is growned in their farm. Room was spacious and very clean. Not to forget wonderful view around. Beautiful waterfall nearby if you are into nature and hiking. We had a wonderful time and would come back.

Recommend to visit any of the thermal baths they have there...

Recommend to visit any of the thermal baths they have there (like the one in Central Hotel in Calimanesti) or the Aqcua Park Cozia. The Olt river has a nice little island, with a monastery on it, worth visiting. There is a nicely arranged path in the forest nearby, very good for a walk in the fresh air of the forest. Nice restaurants, clean streets, neatly arranged.

A nice and cozy city in the mountains, within 1-2 hours drive to multiple ski resorts (Transalpina Ski or Paltinis). The city has all the facilities of big cities, but is small and not crowded. You can spend time in restaurants, coffe shops or malls, or you can go to different spa resorts that are near by (within 15-30 min of driving).

Nice tranquil small mountain town.

Nice tranquil small mountain town. I like it best during the autumnal season when nature develops lovely shades from light green to yellow and brown to reddish. You can take long walks on along the Olanesti river, up to Comanca monastery and natural water springs. Don't miss out the quick train voyage up to the lotus lake. (have cash with you to pay directly - 15 Ron) and the wooden church Saint Pantelimon.

Good for skiing in Domeniu Schiabil Transalpina , anything else dont much things to do , hard to find a good restaurant , they’re to far , and note that if u get in Voineasa with car make sure u go with full tank , as the closest petrol station is 48 minutes far from Voineasa , Pensiunea Edelweiss is good for food and staying !

Elegance and still, great food, restaurant and peoples. Smoking policy missing and any moment a heavy smoker can seat next to you and destroy the moment. Dedicated smoking areas on terraces and pool areas is a must.

The view is nice From the park starts a trek that goes through the forest to Căciulata,recomanded Not so many restaurants in Călimănești,though Căciulata offer more restaurants and spa pools ,Complex Cozia for example and more trekking opportunities on the nearby mountains

The place is underrated, has so much potential.

The place is underrated, has so much potential. While I traveled many times through it, I never stopped for more that a few minutes. But I discovered Rm. Valcea as a clean, cozy and pretty well structured city. It definitely deserves at least 3 days of staying to discover its secrets.

In Romania, the word Băile implies a spa town.

In Romania, the word Băile implies a spa town. The most famous spa towns in Romania are Băile Herculane, Băile Felix, Mangalia, Covasna, Călimănești & Borsec. Romania has hundreds of non-descript small spa towns - few of which get overseas visitors. Băile Olanesti is not one of the grand Spa Towns - but is one of the many far smaller affairs with old communist era hotels and guest houses and a certain amount of dilapidation in the surroundings; witness the ruined hotels, broken windows and crumbling pavements. In the days before locals could travel far they were important holiday destinations for the workers. In summer they still fill up with local families on a cheap break. The swimming pool with its water slides is packed to bursting and the evenings brings everyone out to promenade the streets, meet, smoke and have a drink. In July 2024 Băile Olanesti was packed full and busy - even if the big hotels had spare room. So why come here? Well I stayed above the spa town, in a village called Pietrișu. Take a look at the clip from Google Maps to see why - it is at the end of the road (actually a mud/earth/loose stone track) that leads to huge beech forests and a few scattered farms. The place was peaceful - precisely because it was so hard to reach even with your own car (the single track road is a challenge to a 4x4) with masses of wildlife. My experience of a month's travel in 2024 is that many of the nicest places we stayed were like this - hard to reach and certainly left out of even the backpackers' guidebooks.

The town has a resort with mineral water that contains sulphuric slots and iodine extremely healing for reumatice and arthritic health problems. I spent all 5 days soaking myself in pools and enjoying the sun.
