A beautiful little historic hotel nestled in a walled garden in the north of the amazing Medival town of Visby. Our room was clean, cosy and comfortable.The staff were extremely helpful, giving us good local recommendations and completing bookings. The breakfast was a real highlight with delicious homemade goods and a good range of choices to keep everyone happy. We would definitely recommend Hotel Helgeand Wisby!

The stay at this hotel is one big part of our memories in Gotland. The receptionist Ida was amazingly thoughtful and helpful. The building itself is a bit old but has an original atmosphere which we liked it so much. It is a great deal of money considering it includes the delicious morning buffet. I am so glad that I chose this hotel to see my family being excited. Thank you so much for everything!

Room was spacious and well kitted out. Even though the hotel was quite full, we didn't hear a peep out of the other guests at night. Pool was lovely and breakfast had a lot of options. It's also a convenient walk from the town centre and we had no problems getting taxis for when we needed to go further afield.

If you are looking to stay in a quiet place with a royal, historical, touch, this is the place! Conveniently located close to Visby (10mins by car), the hotel sits on a cliff with the most amazing views and sunsets. We just loved the charm and history and the antique furniture and deco with a royal history. This kind of feeling just cannot be recreated in a modern setting. The uniqueness and authenticity of this place must be preserved! The staff is very friendly and easy-going and also for late arrivals or early check-out, convenient solutions are offered. We spent 4 nights here and were able to discover a lot of what the island of Gotland, and the town of Visby, have to offer. There is ample and absolutely safe parking within the (large) premises and the area is just great for (evening) walks and strolls. The ideal place to take in good Baltic Sea air, relax, enjoy and recharge the batteries. And that with everything just at the doorstep... We will most definitely return and highly recommend staying here!

It's a very cozy hotel close to the beach. We came there by bicycle from Visby, and it was a very pleasant ride with great scenery. There is a parking space for bicycles just outside the hotel, and the neighborhood is very quiet. The breakfast there was delicious, with a good variety of food and pancakes!

Visby offers a beautiful blend of ancient history, stunning beaches, and a peaceful small-town atmosphere. The medieval architecture, coastal scenery, and relaxed pace make it a unique destination to explore. During our stay, we relied entirely on public buses, which worked well for a comfortable and unhurried trip. However, If you want to make the most of Gotland and explore more remote attractions, beaches, viewpoints, and villages at your own pace, renting a car is highly recommended. For travelers seeking a relaxed and enjoyable experience without the need to see every corner of the island, the bus network is a convenient and budget-friendly option. But for maximum flexibility and coverage, a car is undoubtedly the best choice.

Loved Visby and Gotland.

Loved Visby and Gotland. We stayed for 3 days and rented a car. We travelled to the North, South and East of the island in each of those days. Very relaxing vibe. Visby is a beautiful historic medieval town. One half day is enough there.
