What a great choice! Although the room facilities are simple, they are very warm and in the IKEA style that we like. The lady at the front desk is very beautiful and friendly, and she even let us use the washing machine. I will definitely choose here next time I come!

Exceptional place. The chalet that I slept in was floating on the river. It was a unique experience for me. The couple who owns the property, Chris and Areeva, were fantastic people. I really appreciate their hospitality. I enjoyed my stay here so much. Will come back if I can. I highly recommend it to all travellers.

Felt like suburb of bangkok.

Felt like suburb of bangkok. Not as hectic as BKK but still had a city feel to it. As a tourist, one or two days is enough to sample this area. The central nakhon pathom mall worth a visit as well as the old floating market and pagoda temple.

Salaya is about 40 minutes outside of Bangkok by car.

Salaya is about 40 minutes outside of Bangkok by car. We started near the University. Lots of great street food and good restaurants. The people are friendly and helpful, we did a lot of point to order food since our Thai is non existent. Grab our bolt for getting around,. Salaya is alot cheaper then Bangkok

I stayed there for 8 nights my room was never cleaned.

I stayed there for 8 nights my room was never cleaned. Internet worked for 1 day when I told them they did nothing, I rebooted the router myself to get it working. Water and clean towels every day just left outside my room. I upgraded to better room with a view with double beds I got a room with no view and single beds, when I complained they told me that is my room put up and shut up even when I shown my booking reference.

The city of Nakhon Pathom is a nondescript Bangkok satellite...

The city of Nakhon Pathom is a nondescript Bangkok satellite. It's congested, badly planned, and littered with architectural eyesores, the most tedious of which is an ugly, bulbous chedi in the central area. In contrast, the province of Nakhon Pathom can be quite charming, particularly along the riverbanks and khlong-side areas. Even so, for most tourists, Nakhon Pathom is best understood as a midway point between Bangkok and more interesting provinces of western and southern Thailand.

There are a few highlights to check out, but not many.

There are a few highlights to check out, but not many. Wat Samphran (aka Dragon Temple) is worth the viewing. It's free, though donations of 20 baht of more are appreciated. Don Wai Floating Market is an excellent, local market (re: not many tourists) -- though not technically a "floating market", more of a riverside market. Very nice to spend a couple of hours walking through it, shopping, trying all the food. A good market to get lost in :) There are one or two other very nice-looking temples as well with a 20 minutes radius of the main area of Samphran. Haad Sai Khao is a man-made beach, with a lagoon, equipment rentals, food booths. Expesically nice to visit if they are hosting a festival. Other than those things, however, Nakhon Pathom isn't exactly a beehive of activity. Perhaps a good stopover for a day or two on your way to somewhere else.
