Idyllic Island of International Fame

Thailand’s largest island, Phuket has a mountainous landscape leading down to lush, green palms, warm, turquoise seas and soft, golden sands. Patong is its most developed resort and is well known for outrageous nightlife. There are lots of clubs, bars and restaurants in the main town and it also has a fantastic beach lined with hotels and resorts.

To the south is Karon, home to the 2nd largest beach and offshore coral reefs that are good for snorkelling. Quieter Kamala also has coral reefs and good surfing conditions, as do the curved beaches at Kata.

The island’s airport is in the north and there are lots of Phuket hotels near the airport in Mai Khao and Nai Yang, where sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. In Bangtao to the south there is a great range of Phuket hotels with private pools on Booking.com, while around the corner in exclusive Surin there are often typical Thai long boats bobbing up and down in the rolling waves.

On the other side of the island Chalong has an impressive Buddhist temple and is a popular spot for kitesurfing. Neighbouring Panwa has shallow water coral and the Phuket Aquarium to explore. The Phi Phi islands are off Phuket’s eastern shores and their idyllic scenery makes wonderful day trips.

We had a really great stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. The property is very nice, with a fantastic swimming pool that was clean and relaxing. The staff were excellent — always friendly, helpful, and professional. One thing I really appreciated was the metal water bottle provided in the room, which you could refill at the reception. It’s a great eco-friendly touch. The room also had an air purifier, which made the stay even more comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, with a very wide selection of food — there was something for everyone. The hotel restaurant is also the best choice for dinner, with high-quality meals and a great atmosphere. The rooms were quiet, which made it easy to rest, and the sea view was absolutely beautiful. The bathtub in the room was fantastic and very relaxing with sea view. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and I would happily come back.

Staff was friendly and very prompt with any service. In room BBQ was exceptional and well worth trying. Private pool is amazing for thr lazy days, whilst the big pool is good for a change too. Loved my daily walk on the beach spotting different coral and shells every day. Buggy service always prompt and no wait to get anywhere in the resort. Spa packages were such amazing experience, and easy to pop the sky lounge next door for a drink and dinner afterwards. Preferred food at the sky lounge over the restaurant. Breakfast at the restaurant is an amazing spread though and top quality. And cappuccinos were great too.

The hotel is absolutely stunning and nestled in the mountain cliff area away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket, which worked for us. The staff were so attentive and very friendly. The room is also beautifully decorated and very spacious. The bathroom and dressing area is very large! The food was fantastic, the Thai restaurant is a must, and we did the cooking class, which is an amazing experience. They also gave us a goody bag, which was such a lovely touch. Overall 10/10 experience.

It was the most exeptional vacation for us. Staff, including absolutely everyone, was very accommodating. We got the best service ever in any and all situations that we eequired help in. the food is an additional story, we were eating only in the hotel due to it's highest standard of cooking and service. The massages are a must do, every part of it was a wonderfull experience and a must do to experience the wonders of Thailand.

Patong Beach is acceptable - but compared to Kamala Beach...

Patong Beach is acceptable - but compared to Kamala Beach nearby, it's not as beautiful and delightful. Patong is a mix of Benidorm, Sunny Beach and Pattaya - terrible and extremely noisy town!

Phuket is an international destination and a definite bucket...

Phuket is an international destination and a definite bucket list. It has everything to offer - from nightlife to island hopping. Just know what kind of travelers you are. If you are young, hip and want crazy party and nightlife then stay in the Patong area. If you are family and enjoy quiet, culture and beaches - then stay in the Mai Khao area. There are wide ranges of activities to do for everyone.

What I would like to comment on is how Booking.com has...

What I would like to comment on is how Booking.com has disappointed and disgusted me . I booked a oneway flight from Phuket to my home Melbourne. There were two direct flight options -Qantas , and Jetstar. Jetstar is known for being totally "cattle-class" , so even though the Qantas ticket was twice the price I booked it for comfort $909AUD as opposed to the Jetstar price of around $400AUD. When I arrived at Phuket airport checkin I was told that Qantas doesn't fly out of Phuket !!!wtf! There was only the Jetstar flight and I was listed on it . As expected , the seats were terrible . I stood up to avoid the back pain. I arrived really tired and angry . I could have saved nearly $500 , and booking.com refuses to do anything about it even I booked the ticket through them . They owe me a full refund for the price difference . I feel that they behaved fraudulently . The ticketing should have explained that there was no advantage in booking Qantas because there was no actual Qantas flight . I am left with a very bad opinion of Booking.com ....I will not use them again

It's a lovely beach to swim and to watch the sunset.

It's a lovely beach to swim and to watch the sunset. We ate at some seafood cafes and the Coffee Club also had a good menu, but the Glow Mira Hotel had Chen's restaurant where you could eat at different places from the pool, the restaurant or up at Halos rooftop bar. The menu with cocktails was very extensive. Cars and Taxis are everywhere and of course Tuk Tuks and the 100 Baht bus which you can catch to most of the towns in Phuket. Parasailing, swimming and snorkeling is all over and go-kart tracks are a fun holiday pastime

An extreme beautiful beach but it's getting more and more polluted day by day, the most painful part is that nobody cares.Beach is full of plastic bottles and all kind of garbage everywhere.How it's possible to welcome millions of tourist without having public garbage bins.Shame of Thai government.

Very nice beach.

Very nice beach. Have sunbeds options and towel area; good vibes, good restaurant and smoothies options; the water is good for children. Some entertaining on the beach options. Fantasea and Carnival - 1 km walk. Good nightmarket in the area.

The rooms are a little on the smaller side, but they’re comfortable, and the bed provides a good night’s sleep. The location in Naiyang truly couldn’t be better—it’s absolutely perfect. Step straight out onto the beach, where the Sea Almond restaurant is just a one-minute walk along the sand for beachfront dining. Head out to the street and you’ll find a 7-Eleven directly opposite, adding to the convenience. You’re right in the heart of this beautiful, laid-back hidden gem.

A really nice smaller and quieter town than others in Phuket but still with plenty to do. Good restaurants and bars and generally 10-20% less expensive than places like Patong, Phuket Old Town and Karon.

A gorgeous beach..very shallow and quite rocky at times but...

A gorgeous beach..very shallow and quite rocky at times but lovely to dip in to cool off whilst lounging under the beautiful shade of one of the hotel trees nearby. You can walk the beach to the nearest 711 for supplies, maybe a lovely 10 minute walk.

the beach is stunning.

the beach is stunning. I travelled around a lot of the islands and it was one of the nicest beaches I found. It was so quiet apart from the area on the beach by the airport . The low flying aeroplanes were amazing to see
