The food is very good and was very happy with the bungalow. Very little electricity, but fits perfectly if you have minimalistic life style. Beautyfull nature. Perfect place for couples & grown up responsible adults who wish to chill. Please dont bring your naughty kid here, there is nothing for them there and you spoil other peoples vacation.

This is my first time to stay in a Hop Inn Hotel and I am majorly impressed. For me the Staff members Yata and Thiprada were Exceptional! They were friendly; kind; cheerful; pleasant and above all….they were very helpful to me. They are both excellent Ambassadors for Hop Inn and for Ranong and Thailand. Well done to Hop Inn in employing 2 such hard working and cheerful receptionists. Their English is also very good ☘️! The Hotel location is great and is just a few 100m from the Big C shopping centre-mall. It is also close the the Sky Park with wonderful views of the mountains and town of Ranong. The Rooms are immaculately clean (thanks to the wonderful cleaning staff)! The air conditioning is great. The rooms are Roomy also. I was so impressed with Hop Inn that I’ve booked to stay with Hop Inn in Krabi also.

I arrived close to 10pm and the owner was outside hanging out with his friend. I only stay for one night in a 4 bed dorm on my transit to Koh Phayam; and it was a low season so I was the only one in the dorm. Bed was so cosy. Goes to other area in the hostel. They have free coffee and hot water.

Everything! The room was basic with a clean comfy bed, clothes rail & fan. The bathroom was spacious with a cold shower....you don't need hot water!! There are 2 easy deck chairs on your own small porch, perfect for chilling & listening to the wildlife & watching the chickens & peacocks! Breakfast was easy with copious coffee on tap. The hosts & staff are so welcoming & attentive Meals are available throughout the day here & at other restaurants & cafe close by. The beach is a 2 minute walk .... basically a perfect spot.

Location, location, location.You are dropped at the entrance to Bamboo and walk about 50 metres down path with the sound of the surf, the smell of the ocean and then views of the Andaman Sea to a check in/restuaraunt on the beach. Yes, on the beach. I feel bad telling the world about this place as it is a parkway back to SE Asian beaches of 30-40 years ago.

Almost private pool and beach for the whole 2 weeks stay. Amazing staff and the hotel restaurant Sea Again was top 3 restaurants in whole island. Prices were also very low. We rented scooters for 2 weeks and those are excellent to get around the island. Thank you very much Nitiporn Resort Staff!

There are only drug addicts on the whole island.

There are only drug addicts on the whole island. If you hate drugs like I do, don’t go there. Snorkeling is no good, visibility is 1-2m only. Buffalo beach is very shallow so if you go when it’s low tide I’d no good. Traffic is terrible on the island. All kind of nationality drives really fast and bad. We paid 5000bath for a longtail boat for one whole day for snorkeling around 3 different islands. Visibility is 1-2m even after driving boat for more than 1h. Not worth the money at all. Much rubbish on the beaches. I will never visit that island again.

Ranong was a typical border Thai town.

Ranong was a typical border Thai town. Mainly used as a stop over the the islands. It had a huge market and some nice cafes. We stayed there a few days and that was enough really. Apart from the sky walk and palace there was not much else to do. Although we enjoyed the Raksa Wari hot springs for a morning. We were ok as we had a pool. And chilled and had coffees ! Grab was a little difficult.

I've known Koh Chang for a very long time.

I've known Koh Chang for a very long time. The island beauty, quiet and lack of distraction were always the best things about it. In recent years efforts to 'upgrade' are evident, with more roads making more of the island accessible and exploitable. The island is changing, but right now it's still a great escape from the modern chaos. Good food is easy to find, and for tourists still not really expensive.

It's a pleasant enough town, several bars, restaurants,...

It's a pleasant enough town, several bars, restaurants, cafés, and even a nightclub, lots of varied shops and businesses, a normal, functional town where you will get a good perspective on how ordinary Thais live. . Mainly Thai people going about their business as opposed to a tourism overload, 'real Thailand' as they say. Ranong is surrounded by lush greenery and it's great to drive through.

Koh Phayam is a beautiful and chill island.

Koh Phayam is a beautiful and chill island. There is no crazy party culture like on a lot of Thailand's popular islands, but there are amazing, kind, open-minded people (lots of backpackers, also remote workers) and every night you can find a party somewhere, in case you crave one. The island offers beautiful beaches and lots of cute cafes and restaurants. You can either rent a bungalow or a dorm room (I 100% recommend Tropical Hostel). The fun thing about Koh Phayam is that you can get anywhere on the island within 20 minutes on your motorbike, making discovery of the island very accessible. It's a beautiful small community and quickly feels like home.

Very pleasant medium sized town.

Very pleasant medium sized town. Lively market main road with many restaurants and music. Very nice surroundings with waterfalls, hot water springs and spas. Ideally you'll need a car or at least a bicycle to explore it all. No beaches in Ranong, take a boat to nearby islands.
