Traditional house, absolutely gorgeous inside, meticulously looked after and impeccably clean, lovely terrace out back and if you're on the top floor the views are probably the best in town. AC worked, water is hot. The staff were lovely, and immediately sorted out a minor problem I had, though you will need to use google translate if you don't speak Thai. I can't fault this place at all. Location perfect for the old town. I'd recommend renting a bicycle to explore.

Night market is nearby, floating market ~ good experience Comfortable. Clean. Food. That's all I needed for this trip - on a road trip around (enough parking spaces for cars and motorcycles) Aircon and smart TV works - staff kind, efficient, and getting in and out of the hotel is effortless.

11 out of 10! I didn’t want to leave! The hotel is immaculate and well maintained. The bed and pillows were so comfortable it was hard to get out of bed in the morning. I loved the natural light in the room as well. Ms Chin was so kind and lovely, her recommendations for places to eat/drink and sights to see were spot on. On the last day she let me have late check out as my train wasn’t until 6pm. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

This accommodation was initially the main reason for me to stay in Songkhla, it just looked soooo pretty on the website. Songkhla turned out to be fun as well, but the hotel was just delicious! Every room is different and I was given a choice between a few colour palettes and designs. The room is comfortable, the bed enormous, it really is like staying overnight in a museum! Breakfast isn't included but if you choose to order one, it is yummy and truly enormous! The staff is super helpful, they really are. Thank you 🙏

The world is sleeping on Hat Yai.

The world is sleeping on Hat Yai. The cross roads of Thai and Malaysian, Buddhist and Muslim culture. The best assortment of A-1 grade tropical fruit at the daily morning market- maybe the best in the WORLD during this season (July). If you're a tropical fruit fan, you must make this hold pilgrimage. Pineapple, mangosteen, durian, bananas, mangos, pink guava, coconuts, etc. etc. All the best versions you'll ever have. The downtown was very walkable, not just for South East Asia, but by international standards. Traffic was mellow and drivers thoughtful of pedestrians. The best fried chicken ("Gai Tod") in the world- come find out. Value for money is outstanding compared to well trod tourist destinations elsewhere in Thailand.

A nice chill place, laid back old town area, not touristy.

A nice chill place, laid back old town area, not touristy. In fact very few tourists encountered. The kilometer long beaches are great, white fine sand. Plenty of food options throughout the day. Songkhla sleeps early, by 9:00 pm the streets are deserted, except for the restaurants. cafes & bars. But most impressive, the road users are all very friendly & patient, will slow down or wait for the undecided/lost driver/rider/pedestrian. Will visit again for sure

Not much things to do except crossing the border from malaysia to thailand. Howver, there are many Halal food stalls, restaurants in the Night Market. There is Asian Cultural Village (but close early on Sunday?). Personally, I find that it's more of a drop-by place for me cos the reason I was there was to attend a cultural ceremony in Kodiang, Kedah abt 30 mins driving Danok-kodiang. Also head to hat yai (1 hour drive danok-hat yai). Places to chill out at nite include the clubs nearby M Village (beside M hotel), snooker club at the night market, the night market, etc.

a prominent border town located in the northernmost part of Perlis, Malaysia, sitting directly on the international boundary with Songkhla Province, Thailand. Widely celebrated as a "shopping heaven," it serves as a massive trading hub and the primary rail gateway between Malaysia and Thailand. The town directly across the border in Thailand is also named Padang Besar, which locals commonly refer to as "Pekan Siam" (Siamese Town) to distinguish the two.Key Highlights & ShoppingMalaysians and tourists flock to Padang Besar to buy Thai food products, apparel, and household items at highly affordable prices. In January 2026 the town is still recovering from the floods late last year. The water damage can be seen (and smelled) everywhere. More than half of the places Google Maps claims to be open are in fact not. Some are temporarily closed, others will never open their doors again. Whether it is due to the above or the proximity to Malaysia, I found the Hat Yai people to be less friendly than the average Thai person I have come across during my 90 days of travel throughout the country.

Beautiful place to stay on the border.

Beautiful place to stay on the border. A very loving and kind family that treated me as part of their family during the days of lodging. The price-quality ratio is very good, very understanding with my culture and very friendly to shared their own. I spent some excellent and very quiet days eating with them and chatting. Thank you for everything!
