Babalao was our second hotel in Nungwi. I can highly recommend staying there. It is nearby to our favorite beach section. Our arrival was early in the morning at 8am. Check-In time is at 2pm. The owner allowed us to store our bags at the reception and so we were able to do a trip until official check in time without the heavy baggage. Thank you very much for that! At check-in you receive wifi password and very helpful information via whatsapp (recommended restaurants, taxi prices, market fruit prices etc). Exceptional service! The deluxe double room is very nice and very spacious. The rooms are very clean. Aircon and Wifi were working very fine. There is a lot of storage space for our baggage. What I love about this room is the fact that it has a hairdryer (installed on the wall), fridge and they even provide shampoo, shower gel and body lotion. This is exceptional for this price range. I haven't seen this in other hotels within the same price range or even higher. The hotel facility is beautiful with a lot of plants and has a layed back vibe. There are several hanging benches were you can chill. Really enjoyable. The breakfast is standard with a fruit plate, toast, selection of eggs as well as coffee and tea. You can take your breakfast at any time of the day. Very great flexibility!
Poa Poa Bungalows

Poa Poa Bungalows features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Kiwengwa. The place is lovely, well kept and has all the necessary amenities (swimming pool, WiFi, etc). Laura and the whole team will go out of their way to help you, including arranging trips or taxis. The breakfast is delicious, comes with good coffee, fruits, fresh juice and more. The bar has a great variety of cocktails and dishes, and there is live music on Thursday nights. Would totally recommend staying here if you are looking for a small hotel.

It has strong wi-fi (if you would like to work), the Staff is amazing: kind, friends and helpful, the chef is great, he makes amazing food. It is a great hotel, and I t was great to to spend here our honeymoon! :) Thank you for everything!

Piter and Ola(sorry if I choped pronunciation) are probably the best people which we met in whole island. So welcoming, helpful, fun ...and there is one secret which only true lovers of rakija will appreciate -:) Room and outside of it are heaven on Earth, food amazing, every recomandation for trying their dinner specials. Not enough words to express how great we felt overthere if you want true rest. Almost certainly if we go back to Zanzibar, this will be the place where we will spend our time. Thank you once again HEBE people!

The hotel is right in front of the ocean, spectacular sunrise, which you can enjoy from the restaurant while having breakfast. Room was good for it's price (we found a very good promotion) and every day cleaned. We really enjoyed the food in the restaurant, all the food we tried was amazing and it presented so beautiful. Staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the simplicity of the rooms that give you the right "island" feeling. Recommended for couples who want to enjoy some privacy and quietness.

The hotel is within walking distance of the beach and many restaurants. There are many hotel on the beachfront but if you're looking for something a bit more quiet, charming and intimate, we'd definitely recommend staying at Gaia Villas.
