Beds were extremely comfortable. Deep bathtub. Quiet location but next to shops and restaurants. Near airport which was convenient, especially with a free shuttle service with very friendly and helpful drivers. Needed transport to get into the city but buses stop right outside the hotel. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

I was unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised by my stay at Americas Best Value Inn and Suites but it might very well be one of Anchorage's best kept secrets😁 It was actually my best experience of any of the hotels (or motels), I stayed at during my week in Alaska (Anchorage and Palmer). I was given a hugely spacious room (which, was actually a self-catering apartment suite). My experience was peaceful during the time I was there. The hotel provides a simple breakfast and a free shuttle service to the Ted Stevens International airport (which, is only a convenient 10 minute journey from the hotel on Spenard Road). There are a number of additional food services nearby (within walking distance; including, a lovely, cozy little Cafe/bookstore which, I visited on one drizzly afternoon whilst I was there).

Perfect location close to the airport with free shuttle service. Not noisy and certainly doesn't disturb your sleep. Very reasonably priced. If you are an aviation geek then this is the place for you. The hotel is aviation themed with great pictures, it is right next to a big seaplane base and the Anchorage Aviation museum is a 30 min walk. The staff were all very friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean. We stayed for a day prior to our departure and this hotel was a lot better than the one we used on arrival.

The town is bustling a great.

The town is bustling a great. We got around well with our own car and internet for directions. There were lots of things to see and do. Some of the descriptions of stores were a little over the top compared to what was actually available.

We (myself and extended family) were attending my grandson's wedding at Alyeska and rented 4 VRBO's in Girdwood. Overall, everyone was satisfied with their lodgings and enjoyed the beauty of Girdwood and Alyeska. It's definitely worth the visit! Although it is a small town, there are enough cafe's and stores to satisfy without losing the frontier feeling of Alaska. Lots of good hiking and places to eat.

This cabin has a great location on beautiful turn again arm, and is just 20 minutes from anchorage. However, the interior is very disappointing. It's billed as rustic, but it's actually just run down and not maintained. Furniture is busted & dreary looking, large stains on the carpet, and the heater didn't work. When we told the single staff person, who was also the waitress and cook in the bar, she just shrugged and said to look for the controls at the top in the loft. At least the shower was clean with lots of hot water and there was a coffee maker for the morning. But cooking pots and pans were in terrible shape and you wouldn't want to eat out of them.. we only stayed one night, which was enough. Too bad as the cabin could have been so cozy and nice, if owner would just invest a little money in up keep, and decent furnishings.

I'm reviewing our stay in Alaska more generally - the scenery is sublime, locals friendly, and the place simply does not feel like anywhere else, especially in the United States. We used Anchorage as our flight hub and spent little time in the city itself other than sleeping, but we did enjoy a family dinner at the 49th State Brewery downtown on the waterfront. There appears to be plenty of beauty within an hour's drive of the city, but I suspect most leisure and adventure travelers will, as we did, spend more time exploring the Denali and Kenai Peninsula areas and other parts of this vast wilderness state. Would highly recommend adding Alaska to your list.

Beautiful area and great hikes.

Beautiful area and great hikes. The folks at the grocery store are very friendly, the local brewery is great and the food trucks supplied awesome dinner. We have travel with our 1 y old and liked it all. We managed to hike Mt Alyeska, visit Portage Glacier, hike Exit glacier from Seward and took a day cruise from Whittier.

I booked this hotel because I thought it was a short walking...

I booked this hotel because I thought it was a short walking distance to the Alaska Railroad Depot. While it is walking distance it is not safe with two rolling suitcases as the sidewalk goes down a tall staircase. The hotel was fine and affordable for Anchorage.

GIrdwood is a sweet location.

GIrdwood is a sweet location. Not far from Anchorage and a great place from which to have a day trip to Seward and the Kenai Fjords. I recommend those flying in to Anchorage to spend a few days here before heading to Anchorage. A great way to start a vacation in beautiful Alaska!
