I love this place! Location is good. Staff was professional, welcoming and nice. Check in/out were easy. The room was super clean, spacious and nice. Bed was comfortable and sheets super soft. The breakfast is the best I ever had in motels/hotels/inns.

Great cabins in a quiet setting despite being near busy road. The whole cabin was exceptionally clean, well equipped with a decent tub, separate shower and a very good bed. I asked for some fresh milk for my tea and in a jiffy it was provided. The newish owners seem to relish dealing with the great unwashed travelling public...something I did in my own hospitality business for 15 years. A credit to them both and also their excellent staff. Our cabin was set slightly away from the others and thus I relaxed naked in the swinging chair whilst supping some local vino and reading in the sunshine. DEEP JOY!

The room we stayed in was beautiful and overlooked the river. Super relaxing and the bed was really comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was close to downtown where we enjoyed wine tasting, shopping and a nice dinner. The next morning we walked next door and had breakfast at Simon's. All in all a great getaway and we will definitely be back .

It’s what I’d call a boutique town.

It’s what I’d call a boutique town. Hood River is a small, eclectic town, situated next to the Columbia River. It’s only fifty minutes from Mt Hood and has a small town vibe with a nod to the past in history and architecture while providing relevant wares in retail shops. The work of local artisans is everywhere including small galleries, murals, sculptures, restaurants and craft breweries. Windsurfers flock here, especially in the warmer months. The Hood River Inn is a unique place to stay, walking distance from downtown shops and restaurants. This town is a great place to stay after a day of skiing Mt. Hood in the winter, driving the fruit loop in the fall, or following waterfall hikes along the gorge.

The Dalles offers great choices in dining. Personal favorites include the deli at Farm Stand organic grocery, Petit Provence on 2nd Street, and Big Jim's Drive-In a bit further out on 2nd Street The one-way streets and round-abouts can be confusing and frustrating at times, but are easy once you get accustomed to the flow.

Great walks.

Great walks. Get forestry permit for parking at trailheads & map ($15) from museum, $30 for one year & includes trillium lake which is $12 if no permit. Glacier House best for home cooked food. Park up early at popular trailheads at weekends.

This is a great place to hike and great brewery’s and food.

This is a great place to hike and great brewery’s and food. Thunder Island Brewery was a fun place with great food and beer. The Gorges beer company was amazing as well. Whiskey Flats Tavern is a fun place, great food and delicious organic root beer. We really enjoyed Bridgeside breakfast and delicious lunch and homemade desserts.

The town of White Salmon has converted to tourism in a good...

The town of White Salmon has converted to tourism in a good way. People/sales folk/waiters are all very friendly. With only 2,000+ people, there is an excellent bakery and a few very good restaurants, each catering to a different vibe. Finally, the view of Mt. Hood is amazing. Take photos from the city park to avoid including lines. This is the best accommodation and the staff is friendly and helpful. Crossing the bridge to Hood River was free.

Stevenson is a quaint town with good food and great coffee.

Stevenson is a quaint town with good food and great coffee. Make sure you try The Cabin drive through! We ordered in the drive through but ended up parking and sitting on the benches in the front to enjoy the breathtaking view.

The spa, soak, massage and sauna facilities were very clean. I ate at their golf club restaurant, which was good. Carson is a very small town with very little there. Neighboring Stevenson was a little bigger and has a few restaurants, including Clark and Lewie's right on the river - great views. There are a couple of waterfall hikes about 1/2 hour drive away, Lower Creek Falls (beautiful, 4 miles hike round trip) and Panther Falls (the closer one with short walk). There are lots of other hikes nearby.

Great quiet resort town close to Mt. Hood.

Great quiet resort town close to Mt. Hood. Offers fantastic hikes in Zigzag, and close to some U-Pick regions. Highly recommend Kayaking on Trillium lake, and we snuck down an hour and a half to Lak Billy Chinook and took out a pontoon for the day. You escape heat waves in Welches because of the altitude, so that's a huge bonus.

Hood River is a cute town with a lot of good restaurants, and the proximity to mountains, waterfalls, rivers, streams, and scenic drives is spectacular. We especially enjoyed eating dinner at pFriem Family Brewers and Sixth Street Bistro and breakfast at PJs Hometown Cafe. We also enjoyed a dinner at Rio Grande Restaurant in the Dalles. All restaurants listed were great food and great service. An unplanned drive on Highway 30 from Mosier to Rowena was unexpectedly beautiful, and driving 218 to the Dechutes River, crossing over the river and taking the BLM access road all along the river to Maupin and then 197 back to the Dalles was incredible. Lots of views of Mount Hood and Mount Adams as well as the Columbia River Gorge.
