The room was a great size. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. The bathroom was huge and really nice. The shower was big and the water pressure was great! I had told the hotel when I booked that we were staying for my husband's birthday, and if possible I'd love a quiet room. The staff was great and responded right away. I believe the gentleman's name was RJ, he was great. Our room was on the top floor in the back, and we didn't have any room neighbors right next to us. It was very quiet. And upon returning on our second day of our stay, RJ had put up a sign on our door that wished my husband a happy birthday! I was very impressed with the staff!

Vernal is in a great location for anyone wanting to be outside. There are so many things to do, and great places to do them. Dinosaur National Monument is a great destination, and you can touch real dinosaur bones in the Quarry Exhibit Hall. If you're into history, the area has some of the best petroglyphs on the planet. There are loads of hiking and biking options in the greater Vernal area as well. Getting a meal is easy, with everything from fast food to sit down restaurants. A favorite is the Vernal Brewing Company — they make their own root beer and have fantastic food in generous portions. If you're going to Vernal for a convention, the Uintah County Conference Center is well designed with a variety of rooms, big screens and a great sound system.

Small town with nice walkable area and the convenience of familiar chain stores down the road but not mixed with the nice small town to confuse the atmosphere. A couple of nice museums in the walkable area makes it more than just a shopping and eating experience. We stayed at Microtel in next door Naples so every time we drove back and forth, we got to see the large pink dinosaur (photo) entering town (fun each time.) We ate Khao Hom Thai Kitchen (photo of sign) the first night and recommend it for the food, fair prices, and service. Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum (photo) is an excellent museum dedicated to the dinosaurs and geology of the area. Many rafting companies (we went with Dinosaur River Expeditions which we would do again.) Right next to Dinosaur National Monument which is large and spectacular in its views, hiking, dinosaur wall (photo,) petroglyphs, and history. Phenomecon occurred that weekend so we walked around the vendors. Went to a farmer’s market on the east coast and met someone whose wife had been there! What are the chances? Almost a phenomenon! (At least fun to connect.) More to see but not enough time!

Vernal was great. There is so much to do around the area. Flaming Gorge, Dinosaur National Monument. The parks and open spaces everywhere. The weekend events near the conference center. Overall a really great time.
