Wyoming

Wyoming is best known for its dramatic national parks, Yellowstone and Grand Teton, and for wide open, rugged landscapes where wildlife roams freely. It’s famous for geysers, alpine lakes, cowboy culture and starry skies. Families and solo travellers find both adventure and calm here, from easy boardwalks and ranger talks to longer hikes and scenic drives.

Don’t miss Yellowstone’s geysers or Grand Teton’s peaks. Watch wildlife in Lamar Valley. Stay in Jackson for access and dining, Cody for Old West history, and Lander for outdoor adventure, plus scenic river rafting.

If you are looking for a no frills homey cabin vibe this place definitely checks the boxes. It was a basecamp for us to check out Grand Teton NP and provided a lovely, warm, comfortable space to get out of the snow storms rolling thru at the time. Literally the most comfortable beds I had ever slept on,and the staff were warm and inviting.....they even helped me dig my buried car out of the snow the next morning, this place is a keeper!! They also had a communal lodge area with games, pool table, etc to relax if you wanted to hang elsewhere than your room. I will definitely be coming back.

The attention to detail in the interior and exterior accents was amazing. All of the bear and raccoon creatures placed inside and outside of the building, the wonderful native artwork, large historic photographics in the hallway, etc. It was all quite incredible and so tasteful.

Too many people not enough parking for seniors.
Jackson

Too many people not enough parking for seniors. We would never stay at the Rustic cabin resort again. We are seniors they put us in one of the old cabins the floor was sinking. The bed was uneven things rolled off the nightstand very dark not enough bright light. The bathroom was too small. I’m sure they had plenty of larger cabins available, but yet they chose to put us in a cabin that the door would barely open and close number 166 should never be rented again till they renovate it

Moran

Too far from the parks, led to believe it was closer. Extremely low toilet. No freezer in the extremely small frig. No cupboards or counter space. Lawn not mowed. Lots of storage of snowmobiles and trucks on the back. Looked trashy. Very high step to get into the cabin with no handrails. Only one hand towel for 2 people.

The pictures on Booking.com do not reflect the property.
Colter Bay Village

The pictures on Booking.com do not reflect the property. Colter Bay Village had a general store and a good restaurant as promised. However, the cabin for $380.00 was only a room with attached small bathroom. The bathroom had a shower with dirty, moldy caulking in the shower and around the bathroom. The cabin had no refrigerator, no television, no wifi, just bed(s) with a stain on our sheets. The pictures on Booking.com were great and they talked a lot about Colter Bay Village but no where did they mention how RUSTIC and lacking the cabin was. I'm extremely disappointed with the cabin and with Booking.com.

Buffalo is a lovely small town.
Buffalo

Buffalo is a lovely small town. Alas, Super 8 , Wyndham was surprisingly disappointing. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was ok but the room was not clean. The floor had hairs and fluff on it and some surfaces were dirty. Yes, it was inexpensive compared with other places we stayed, but a room should be clean non-the-less.

Gillette

Gillette is a nice town in Wyoming. It is surrounded by coal mines, that are interesting to drive by and watch mining in action. There are a lot of oil fields, too. It is close to Devil’s Tower to the East and the Big Horn Mountains to the West. People are friendly and there are plenty of hotels and fast food.

Sheridan

One and only planned stops was the historic 'Trail End' Mansion. I found this stop to be fascinating. The home that a poor cowhand from Texas built even before he became Governor and than US Senator. The history and life John Kendrick is worth reading. A true American success story. I found getting around Sheridan easy to drive in. With GPS finding Trail End, was no problem.
