Wyoming

Wyoming is best known for its dramatic national parks, Yellowstone and Grand Teton, and for wide open, rugged landscapes where wildlife roams freely. It’s famous for geysers, alpine lakes, cowboy culture and starry skies. Families and solo travellers find both adventure and calm here, from easy boardwalks and ranger talks to longer hikes and scenic drives.

Don’t miss Yellowstone’s geysers or Grand Teton’s peaks. Watch wildlife in Lamar Valley. Stay in Jackson for access and dining, Cody for Old West history, and Lander for outdoor adventure, plus scenic river rafting.

The location is absolutely perfect. It is right off the main street and tucked back off the street. It is very quiet. We love to stay here with our dogs as you can walk out the back of the property into a very quite neighborhood. The cabins are small but perfect for us.

Jackson

Jackson in winter months is magical and The Grand Tetons were magestic. We went skiing in Teton Village at Jackson Hole Resort and it was such a fun, lively atmosphere and the staff from lift tickets to renting equipment were wonderful. They have a beginners section that was very affordable and perfect for families. We rode the tram up to the waffle place at the top which was one of our highlights. The views were amazing and to die for waffles and perfect double Irish coffee. In Teton Village we ate at Mangy Moose, Handlebars and Tram Dock. Each of these was a different experience with great food and drink and DJs. We hiked to Taggert Lake about 1 1/2 miles through beautiful, serene scenery that was a highlight. We took a snowmobile with Teton Tours with Andy as our guide and it was a once in a lifetime experience. The town of Jackson is easily walkable with so many shops, delicious restaurants and coffee shops. We ate at Pinky Gs, Local, Million Dollar Cowboy, Silver Dollar, Teton Pizza and more and loved every one of them.

Laramie

Good shopping, friendly, college town, fairly decent places to eat. Lots of UW Cowboy gifts and shopping to be found. The Bent & Rusty is a GREAT gift shop, Dodds Shoes has an amazing selection, 17th ST Cafe was pretty good. The Accomplice is not bad. Altitude Steak House is pretty popular. Pretty good service, make a reservation there or go early on a Fri/Sat evening!! And Chano's Village Mexican Restaurant is pretty good too....busy!!

Gillette

Gillette is a nice town in Wyoming. It is surrounded by coal mines, that are interesting to drive by and watch mining in action. There are a lot of oil fields, too. It is close to Devil’s Tower to the East and the Big Horn Mountains to the West. People are friendly and there are plenty of hotels and fast food.

Rock Springs

I booked this as a stop between Boise and Boulder and was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. Mesa, at the front desk, was very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and featured a microwave, desk, coffee maker, two comfy queen beds, and a large TV. The rooms were quiet, I didn't hear anyone else even though I know I had neighbors. The breakfast was far more than expected and a great way to start my day for the remaining five hour drive. I would book here again for sure!

Rawlins

Had a quick stay here. Tried a steakhouse in Rawlins but it was not very good and was overpriced and the bar was out of basic items. There was one wine selection to choose from. The city is nice & we probably should ask the locals for food advice next time we travel through.

Teton Village

We were there first week in October, so we didn’t get the full experience because lots of the anemnities were not available. Some of the staff were friendly, but mostly our encounters with front office staff, horse riders area were rude. Our food servers were amazing, food was good but ridiculous expensive for what we received. The road construction from the village to Jackson was horrible, took 1.5 hours to go 12 miles. Gorgeous time of year to enjoy the miles of walking trails with beautiful views.
