It was exactly as described and better! I was greeted by friendly staff who checked me in and took me over to the seafront bungalow. The room was well set up with a little kitchenette and private veranda. The shared kitchen area was really clean, spacious, and also had a great lounge too. I loved snorkelling just in front of the bungalows and taking in the views from a hammock. It was also nice to be able to pop over to Turtle Bay, just next door, for a delicious meal, chat to the staff, and take out a kayak to explore the bay. A wonderful stay, and I’m sure I’ll be back.

It was a perfect and prime location. And the owners were so friendly, kind and nice. The little kids were so friendly, playing and helping. There were puppies and dogs around, I have never seen more cute puppies. You get out of the bungalows and you jump in the beautiful water. I liked everything. The lemonades were so nourishing.

The staff is kind and very professional. It was every day such a pleasure. The menu is little bit short but all the meals are well cooked.

The location was beautiful! The owners, the manager and the staff are all super friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are really great with delicious dishes with fresh ingredients. There is also a wide choice for vegetarians which is great! The restaurant is very cozy and has a beautiful view over the bay, with a terrace right on the water. The PADI dive center of Turtle Bay Lodge is conveniently located next to the restaurant and is practically furnished with many different items, such as kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gear, etc. There is also a nice shop at the reception with beautiful merchandise to have a nice memory of your stay. The dive sites are very close to Turtle Bay Lodge, close to several nearby islands. You can also snorkel in front of the restaurant, which is great. The atmosphere throughout the site is very relaxing and you can enjoy yourself in a hammock under the trees. At the reception you can arrange any excursions you want to do, or even rent a buggy if you want to go out on your own. Santo island is so beautiful, with such friendly people!

Had a lovely stay at Lonnoc. The family gives such nice hospitality and Sylvie really takes care of you. The beach is stunning and I spent hours snorkelling the reefs just in front of the place. They were so appreciative of tourists choosing to visit them and it really helps their community. It was fun playing with the local kids who are so kind and hilarious! Pleaseeee if you can, bring some games with you for them, like education jigsaws or they’d love a new football! They were sooo happy when another family brought them gifts! Manage your expectations for this sort of remote accommodation as it is very no-thrills (cold shower, intermittent solar electricity etc) but everything worked and was clean/organised. 10 mins walk from Champagne beach (1000vt) or you can also kayak there with their free kayaks (1 double and 2 singles). Getting there needs some forward planning. Most shared vans or taxis only go UP north in the evening from Luganville, and go DOWN south in the early morning. It cost 1000vt in the shared vans, but if you wanted a taxi outside of these time you’ll struggle and be paying 5000-8000vt or hitchhiking (common)! You could also do a private day tour stopping at Nanda Blue Hole, then up to Port Olry then down finishing at Champagne Beach (Lonnoc) which cost us 12000 total for the whole day and got to see other things too. Overall it’s a great place to spend a few nights, manage expectations for remote village living, plan the arrival in advance, and enjoy the local culture and scenery!

The staff went out of their way to look after you. Kathy was great even doing our laundry. Whilst the property is a little out of town very easy to get a bus or taxi. Locally operated and great value for money.

Our stay at the freshwater Plantation farm stay was absolutely amazing! The bungallow is so beautiful, it is situated directly on the beach and has an amazing sea view. They also have a super nice restaurant, with delicious meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Try the chicken Parmiggiana! We really enjoyed the evenings with Vini and Klaas, to talk about interesting topics by a glass of wine. We did the diving at the coolidge, while we stayed at their accommodation and they drove us every time and picked us up. We also went snorkelling, right in front of the bungallow and the reef is pretty decent (we even saw morey eels and lion fish). It grows back slowly after the cyclone.
