Amazing family room, huge with 3 singles with a room divide and then a super king size bed. Ensuite was a good size and clean. Love the open plan communal space. Kids loved the big sofas, right next to the bar area and the food at breakfast and at dinner was excellent. Staff super friendly and would definately recommend

Exceptional Stay – Highly Recommended! We had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Recidence. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The hosts, Diego and Teka went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Every detail—from the fresh linens and flowers to the thoughtful touches—showed how much care the owners put into their guests’ experience. Beautifull gardens. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. The location was perfect—peaceful, scenic and close to local attractions and amenities. What truly sets this place apart is the personal touch. The hosts are kind, attentive, and always ready with great recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing, and local experiences. We highly recommend this guesthouse. It’s a true gem and we would happily return without hesitation! Mariana Burger, Worcester

The property is beautiful and quiet! The sleeping room is adjacent to the main house and it’s so cute and well decorated with a super comfortable bed. Everything is new and super clean. We had fresh grained coffee, cookies, granola and milk available to us for breakfast. We sat in the garden to have breakfast, the garden is a dream, surrounded by trees and flowers. We loved it! The hosts are a lovely couple, was very nIce to chat with them and get tips of where to go on our trip and what to do. They also have a dog called Daisy and two cats, one of them is called sugarbaby. We love animals, It was fantastic. Highly recommended.

It was like walking into a garden of REST!!!! We were blown away by the peace and quiet atmosphere, by the lush garden with beautiful trees. I loved the barbeque spot and swimming pool. The room was beautiful and had everything we needed. There was no TV, but it didn't matter. We had a laptop. Will MOST DEFINITELY GO BACK!

For visiting the hot springs it is good, however it is expensive and you are better off staying in an Air BnB near by and visiting the springs in the day time. Bedrooms lack privacy and are prone to noise from the outside and neighbouring rooms well into the evening.

Bettys Bay is a charming little coastal town.

Bettys Bay is a charming little coastal town. I think its perfect for tourists and locals if you are looking for a laid back breakaway. Its quite easy to get around and find different places of interest. We enjoyed visiting the Stony Point Penguin Colony. We spotted quite a number of birds. There are lovely trails for short hikes on the mountainside. The beach is wonderful with white soft sand. The water is quite cold though.

Our trip was mainly a get together with an old friend who lives in Botrivier, somewhere I had never been before. Definitely include some time at the Botrivier hotel bar - so much history! The biltong in the kiosk opposite the hotel is a definite! people are friendly and chatty. Add it to your road trip as a destination. Lots of winefarms ( who knew!) And include a nights stay in a Silver Stream caravan at Old Mac daddy!!! definitely!!!

We had a very quick stay but loved Overberg Honey shop. We wanted to go to Terra Madre but sadly it was closed. We left with the sense that there was so much more to enjoy. You need your own vehicle to explore Elgin.

It is a very peaceful village with a lovely beach. I was there off season which was perfect as coming in summer must be hectic. Met very helpful people from the pharmacy, the small supermarket and the laundry lady. Excellent restaurant - The Cork Eatery! Very nice owner and very good food. Enjoyed a lovely meal. Beach is beautiful but I may have gone to the wrong entrance as a bit of a trek to the sea but well worth it. Big plus - pet friendly area.

Loved the area and the Elgin market.

Loved the area and the Elgin market. Alot of good wine farm however most are closeon a Monday. We went to a few that was closed but we're still allowed to enter and take pics. All the staff at the various winefarms could suggest to us where to get the full experience on the Monday. The hostess at Paul Cluver wine tasting was so well informed and professional. People love what the do. Very good experience all round

What a wonderful experience to stay at Hartebeesrivier.

What a wonderful experience to stay at Hartebeesrivier. The directions were spot on and my small car made it comfortably even on the dirt roads. It was a beautiful drive through farmlands. On arrival, I was delighted to see first world amenities (wi-fi, TV, comfortable beds with high-quality bedding, plush towels and everything you need in the kitchen). There are two bedrooms with double beds - and a cot for those who might need it, together with a full bathroom downstairs. There is also a loft room upstairs with one double bed and two single beds and another bathroom. The cherry on top is that there is both a hot "jacuzzi" (kol kol) and a cold small swimming pool close to the undercover braai outside. We took walks around the farmlands and took great pictures. Two nights was a bit short but we did all return home relaxed and restored. I highly recommend this venue.

I can’t recommend this property enough.

I can’t recommend this property enough. Great communication from our hosts, we were met by Gail who showed us around and said to contact her if we need anything. She even brought over a home made apple crumble! The house and grounds are so beautiful I’ve honestly never stayed anywhere so well maintained, clean and with so much space and incredible facilities. We enjoyed lovely outdoor dining, lounging by the pool, hot tub and fire pit in the evening. The meditation studio and games room are also amazing additions, you really do need a few days to enjoy the extent of it all. But mostly the view is magnificent. What a gem, we will definitely be back! 5 STARS!!!!
