Our stay was absolutely fantastic. From the hosts, to the hot tub and all the small touches in between, every detail was perfect.

Loved the views. This is one of our favourites Karoo lodges in SA. Our family of 7 love to come via the Karoo on our way home after our chaotic coastal family holidays in the E Cape. This visit didn't disappoint - apart from the noisy owner's kids using the pool. We loved the rooms and love Ampie who made an impression on me once again on this visit. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Loved braaing near the pool. Never get tired of the view. We will definitely be back.

What a fantastic place, maybe the best place we have stayed in Southafrica. You can sit all day and Fall into trance over the view from the cottages. Magical. The cottages are comfortable and so well designed that you think you are in a classy hotel, but with personality. And a perfect personal service fron Gondwyn. And then all the things you can do, swim in the river, padle the canoe/kayak for free or take beautifull walks. Or just sit on the veranda and enjoy. Highly recommended. We were there for 5 days.

Like stepping back into a more genteel world. The room was exquisite with fresh flowers and antiques - I’ve never had sheets of such quality in my life before. The food was absolutely top notch fine dining, four courses including fresh asparagus in a delicate sauce and fillet done to your specifications. Breakfast also 5 stars. Service all incredible. Treat yourselves!

The rock formations are spectacular and unique to this area, with a striking red colour. The hills glow pink and red in the early morning light, in the hour before sunrise. The night sky is joy to behold, with little ambient light to spoil the view.

The town is a gem and the houses in general are next level.

The only negative is the number of young coloured men asking to do and be useful when theyo are not required to do anything. One feels badgered.

On arrival, we were greeted by overflowing sewers pouring out into the main road. Smelt so bad, we could not go near the liquor store near the main road. Apart from that issue, the rest of the town was great.
Hit the road and make the most of your trip by discovering another popular destination within South Africa.
