A lovely property to stay in on the route 62 with gorgeous views all around. The room was very spacious, and we also really enjoyed the private pool and sun deck area with the view over the vineyards. I booked a massage which was great, the staff overall were very welcoming and we felt a personal touch during our stay.
The breakfast was great, and we also had the dinner since you don’t really have anything around the estate, and we were very happy with it.

The glamping tents are absolutely stunning, great veiws, good showers, comfy bed. We enjoyed the hot tub and hanging around in the hammock reading books and spotting animals and talking mini hikes on the property. Nicely located close to town for supplies. And dont miss the meerkat experience.... this was our highlight and JJ was a super guide. All and all we had a wonderful time in this piece of paradise.

Amazing people and incredibly clean. Lettie was superb and welcomed us warmly and helped with anything we needed. We had days where we had no electricity for a few hours in the morning so had to get up really early to shower otherwise no hot water but did hear they were getting solor panels so that would be great. This is not something they can control but can improve on by facilitating their guests needs

We absolutely loved our stay at De Zeekoe. It was our favourite accommodation on our south Africa trip. So much so we definitely should have stayed a second night. Our dinner at the property was great and the views were absolutely phenomenal. We added the meerkat sunrise tour to our stay and loved it. The hosts also helped us book our cango caves tour upon arrival.

The Lodge is on an active farm, and it was fun seeing all the animals. We saw all the little lambs running out to the fields, ostriches, deer and antelope, a cow, and a very friendly old dog who enjoyed walking with us all over the farm. The breakfast was wonderful, and the rooms were basic but neat. For the price, it was good value for money.

We stayed in Greenbeard Treetop, which had the most amazing 180° views of the forest.
Our accommodation was very comfortable, with all the kitchen equipment you require, great outdoor Braai,
an incredible view from the bath. A minimum of 2 nights is a must. This is a real GEM in South Africa.

Oudtshoorn is a lovely karoo town with everything you need.
Oudtshoorn is a lovely karoo town with everything you need. It offers a variety of activities (nature based, wine tasting, agricultural and shopping etc.) and a couple of days spent in Oudtshoorn will allow you to also visit the surrounding smaller towns (de Rust, Calitzdorp).
If you like slow living, good food & wine, this is a must visit.

Barrydale is one of my favourite places to escape to.
Barrydale is one of my favourite places to escape to. There's something incredibly calming about the drive through the Tradouw Pass, the fresh mountain air, and the slower pace of life that makes you forget about the rush of everyday life. I love how the town combines small-town charm with beautiful scenery, friendly people, quirky little shops, and great local food. Every visit feels like a chance to reset, appreciate nature, and simply enjoy the moment. For me, Barrydale isn't just a destination—it's a place that always leaves me feeling refreshed and already planning my next visit. We a;so had lovely breakfast at the Blue Cow.

A historic town with some beautiful old houses, remnants of the feather-boom days. Shops stock most of the supplies one needs, the hardware store (CBL) in town has everything, the new Pharmacy owners are more than helpful and kind, and generally people are welcoming and friendly.
There are places to eat breakfast or lunch, and if you want something a bit more special you need to drive out of town a bit, but not far. I enjoyed the road ro Voorbaat, and passing through farms nestled in this green valley.

A pretty Klein Karoo town.
A pretty Klein Karoo town. There is the sense, however, that most people don't stay too long as it's located right at the foot of the Prince Alfred Pass, which people rush to go over to their destinations. So, Uniondale is a bit overlooked. Getting around is easy, it's tiny so you can walk everywhere.

From the main road it looks like just another dusty deserted Karoo town. What a pleasant surprise on turning off into the little town. We had a superb breakfast at @Stuff and met some interesting locals. The town is experiencing a resurgence and is intersting, well maintained and spotlessly clean.

Oudtshoorn was overall clean and tidy as a city. It did not feel run down at all. People were friendly. Lots of shops available for groceries etc. Karoo Luserne butchery is an incredible butchery and the Ostrich Emporium is superb for those looking for Ostrich meat products. Lovely place to do day outings from. We went to Prince Albert for a day and travelled some of the incredible mountain passes there and back. Closer to home are Cango caves and the Ostrich and wildlife farms - they are always amazing. The Karoo landscape is breathtakingly beautiful.

A very pleasant stay at Barrydale Bliss.
A very pleasant stay at Barrydale Bliss. A comfortable home which was lovely and clean and a super patio with great views of the mountains. It was so nice with the early morning coffee on the patio watching all the bird life in and around the garden and at nighttime looking at all the bright stars which we tend not to see in the city.
