South AfricaThis was the perfect break from the world. The cabin had all we needed an the decor was so beautiful. The staff are super friendly and thoughtful. We went with our 2 little dogs and they even loved it more than we did. Not far from all the Parys stalls, 10 min away from Frontizo's amazing coffee.

The food was awesome, we had breakfast both mornings. The staff are very friendly and incredibly accommodating. The staff were on hand to assist with anything we needed and are great to us. They even let us check out a little later, and they were cool about us arriving a little late. Great people.

I enjoyed the eateries and shops I went into.
I enjoyed the eateries and shops I went into. I would have changed my plans had I known in advance that Parys pretty much shuts down by 3 on a Sunday, until Tuesday. I found the town to be quite clean. It would have been good to have been able to access a comprehensive list of shops and food offerings (and closing times) in advance (my internet searches didn't provide that info). It is easy to navigate the town. Of course, the potholed road into the town is awful, but sadly, we're so accustomed to them in SA, that it's not surprising - albeit they are so very dangerous. I cancelled a previous trip due to the risk of driving such roads in heavy rains (or actually any rain!)

Parys has some little gems but I did feel a decline in...
Parys has some little gems but I did feel a decline in infrastructure on our last trip. The roads have gotten even worse unfortunately and I really feel for the people who are making an effort for the tourists. This is all municipality related and no reflection of the people working hard within the town. We loved An Artisan cafe and the Enstyle shop. We had drinks and watched the rugby at Die Plek and that was lots of fun and very cosy.

Parys people know how to cook thats for sure! Every place we ate at had excellent quality food!
I highly recommend O's Restaurant and Liewe Koffie!
Everything is in walking distance, and as a whole Parys is simply beautiful.
I went for a birding weekend and Koedoeslaagte delivers.
Just watch out for the potholes, some of the worst I've seen.
I would suggest though brushing up on your Afrikaans, because the locals dont give a flying hoot if you speak it or not!
