From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing, we felt like celebrities! They were so friendly and helpful, arranged a birthday surprise. The grounds are stunning, so the trail for a beautiful view. We stayed in the Manor House and the room was huge. View of the mountain from the bath! We also had a drift away package and that was 10/10. Best place I’ve ever stayed.

Communication before arrival was friendly and clear. The place was easy to find, and I was warmly greeted as soon as I arrived. I was shown around and given helpful tips on where to go and how to get there. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming - I instantly felt like I was on holiday! I will definitely be going back to stay, 1 night wasn't enough.

The Submarine Museum is a must.

The Submarine Museum is a must. A lot of effort went into creating it and through volunteers and donations, it has thrived. The tour of the interior of the S99 - SAS ASSEGAI ex SAS Johanna van der Merwe is a must and the tour guides are both humorous and knowledgeable. Also on the approach to Simonstown is a slightly hidden but very interesting SA Naval Museum. There are about 6 places to eat out in Simonstown depending on your budget and if you are willing to wait at a few of them, you will have plenty of time to enjoy a good wine. Be aware that some of them shut early around 21h00. It is also a penguin lovers delight at Boulders, just a few hundred yards as you exit Simonstown to the east on the Cape Point road. A few companies running fishing and shark cage experiences from the jetty at the Quaside Hotel. A lovely little town.

Its just such a cool authentic place with so many nuisances and super cool things on offer, from a Friday evening indoor community market which in the meantime has legendary status to live music venues, a theatre divine coffee shops and eateries' along the beachfront as well as in the village and not to mention the glorious unending sand beach the nature reserve-estuary along the Vlei and of course the majestic Mount Muizenberg. There are so many leisure and water/beach sport related activities incl surfing, angling, mini golf, water slides and pool etc. The railway is reliant and safe in both directions. And most of all not to overlook the really cool community of people living here which just gives this village such an awesome vibe. Its a paradise of sorts. The chance you fall in love with this place is 100% guaranteed :-)

Super nice place in between the best spots of Kalk Bay, Simons Town and easy to go to Cape Town, Cape Point and other beaches. Fish Hoek is safe and the beach is lovely, with lots of locals during the weekend and nice tidal pools and snorkling spaces. Really nice ; )

One word that defines Tokai for me is tranquil, with a family-oriented atmosphere. It feels far, like a peaceful escape from the madding crowd, while still being conveniently close to major roads and Cape Town’s attractions.

We loved how private it was.

We loved how private it was. That we had our own space and no one knocking. The lady that cleaned our room waited until we left to clean and when we came back she was gone and did a great job. We loved how the security waited for us until we came in to lock up. We loved how professional the staff were. They allowed us and the bridal team to take pictures there, and even allowed the girls to get ready for the wedding in the room. The staff were very professional and we loved that. We had our own parking available for us so we didn’t have to walk far. Everything was great, and we would definitely go back and longer. Our favourite places there were the beach, muizenberg putt putt, the blue train, the mall and shops weren’t too far. We went a little far to black Marlin restaurant, got some kfc , fish places, etc. It was easy to get around kalk bay.

My time here was spoilt by other inconsiderate guests, but the House, the facilities and it's location was idyllic. The Carer of the house, Candice, did her best to try and make the stay enjoyable. She is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Sadly, we can't always control the behavior of other guest. Scenery is just gorgeous, it is safe and secure, a little hideaway, yet also not too far from Longbeach and Sunvalley Mall if you need the shops, pharmacy etc.
