The view from the room was just stunning, the glass door and windows overlooking a beautiful lake, the mountains in the background and picturesque hills. Hosts were incredibly welcoming, advising places to visit, places to eat as well as making sure we were felt well taken care of.

It is an excellent quiet and safe place. I traveled with my family. We did night sky gazing and woke up early to watch the birds. The rooms and beds were comfy. Hot shower water was comforting.

Unbelievable value. A whole country house for less than the average hotel room. I also had a huge garden with a lake and horses to myself. Amazing. Peaceful.

We were only in Himeville for a stop over, so we did not have a chance to see much of the area. However, we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, beautiful houses and gardens in the street we were staying in.

A true home away from home.

A true home away from home. The kids enjoyed the waterpark and the daily activities. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, and the reception and administrative staff were both professional and friendly. The entire team was well-mannered and always available whenever we needed assistance. The place was exactly as advertised on the website, and our family loved every single aspect of it. We will definitely return to Mountain View.

A lovely village and close to Underberg. Really good position. The Himeville Museum was excellent and well worth a visit. A trip up Sani Pass is definitely recommended. Unfortunately the Vulture Hide was close during our stay there but on our return we'll visit it.

There are several resorts and a number of smaller accommodations in this picturesque valley, a hotspot for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. It is close to the famous Sani Pass, where 4X4 enthusiasts can ascend one of the highest and most scenic trails in Southern Africa. The town has charming shops and eateries, and many of the resorts offer a host of activities, restaurants and outdoor adventure options.

Overall, the place gave off "cheap, stingy" vibes.

Overall, the place gave off "cheap, stingy" vibes. Not value for money. We paid R17k for 4 nights at Fairways self catering and could not get fresh towels, the beds are uncomfy, the fireplace didn't work well, there isn't much for the kids to do when it's raining and cold. We booked for dinner only to be told they don't cater for kids and there's no other restaurant open. The jacuzzi temperatures are set way too high and ended up burning my skin. The only heated pool for kids gets too crowded, another heated pool for kids would be great.

Potholes are ridiculous getting to underberg. So many & close to each other. Definitely cause damage to your car tires / rims. Once to get to underberg, spar and other stores are convenient. Being close to the berg is beautiful

Electricity cut of many times during our stay due to the switch tripping. Drain clogged in shower. Carpets not vacuumed but only swept with a broom, which was evident in our continuous sneezing upon entering the room. Geyser switch tripped on checkout day and therefore we could not shower in our room. Rooms need to be better maintained and cleaned.
