Facing the seafront in Kota Belud, Bigfin beach resort features a private beach area. Offering a restaurant, the property also has a garden. The property provides sea views and a terrace. Feels like a hidden gem and private paradise. Great dive shop with charismatic guides, nice boat, sufficient equipment. Great to wake up to a view of Mt Kinabalu and all the food was really lovely home cooking and tasted great. It felt like living in a little community for a couple of days :)

Situated amidst abundant greenery, Sepilok Nature Lodge - Formerly known as Sepilok Nature Resort is a haven for nature lovers. I could not recommend higher. It was amazing. Even had Orangutan visits during our stay.

Timba Garden FREE TOWN AND JETTY TRANSPORT has a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Semporna. This 5-star resort offers a shared kitchen, room service and free WiFi. Great little spot in a jungle neighborhood. Super friendly owners. We were hungry when we arrived and they were making chicken curry for their lunch, and added us to the preparations. Very unique location. I slept really well then off the next day for diving.

Sepilok Forest Edge Resort is a nature retreat in Sandakan, a 15-minute walk from the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. The Sepilok Forest Edge Resort is definitely one of the best hotels where we stayed during our two-week Borneo trip. Its location right at the entrance to the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center is unbeatable. The hotel grounds themselves are spacious and the bungalows are not clustered together, making it wonderfully quiet. We stayed in one at the very back with a view into the jungle. We have never seen so many different monkeys strolling by as we did there. Simply incredible to be surrounded by nature like that. The rooms themselves are large, very clean and the bed is super comfortable. The partially outdoor bathroom is spacious enough and equipped with everything you need. The entire resort is extremely peaceful and calming. The restaurant serves many Western dishes, including plenty of vegetarian options, which we appreciated as it can be difficult to find a wider selection of vegetarian food in this part of the world. We would have loved to stay longer.
