The location is stunning, surrounded by beautiful forest and incredible mountains. The property is amazingly maintained. The Villas are luxurious, beautifully designed, perfectly integrated into the landscape with views of the vineyard, the valley, the mountains, and nearby the ocean. We can hear the sound of the river, the birds. At night the sky is magical with so many stars. The pool and sauna both have gorgeous views. Each morning a selection of fresh baked breads are delivered to you and a well stocked fridge is refreshed every day with farm fresh eggs, cheese, homemade jams, fruit, meats, and more. We also had a wonderful dinner with wine pairing. The best meal we had on vacation was here. The wine of the property is delicious. Maria and Marco are lovely hosts and care for their guests. They close attention to every last detail. They go out of their way to make you feel at home, the staff is great. They are helpful, generous, and friendly. The best hosts ever we met! The luxurious Royal Savoy - Ocean Resort is set amidst tropical gardens in the Bay of Funchal, featuring 2 heated lagoon-style pools and private ocean access. Superb location with direct access to the sea - (however there is no beach but rock-set steps to the water ). There is a huge sun-lounging terrace with plenty of sun-beds . Hotel was originally a time share apartment building which has been converted to a hotel . The suite rooms have a separate kitchen and there is room service available so private dining on the terrace is a very pleasant availability .
