Saccharum - Resort & Spa is a luxury 5-star design hotel located on Calheta Beach, between the mountains of Madeira and the Atlantic Ocean. Really cool design to this hotel. Great breakfast buffet and amazing swimming pools. This may be my favorite hotel on the island.

I Boaventura, 16 kilometer fra Santanas tradisjonelle hus, ligger Terrabona Nature & Vineyards, som har et utendørsbasseng, gratis privat parkering, en hage og en restaurant. Omgivelsene, utsikten, frokosten helt perfekt å kunne lage den selv når man ønsket, gode senger. Komforten og stedet veide opp for veldig dårlig vær.

I Ponta do Sol, 14 minutters gange fra Madalena do Mar-stranden, ligger Escarpa - The Madeira Hideaway, som har et utendørsbasseng, gratis privat parkering, en hage og en terrasse. The rooms are really nice, amazing view at the ocean, very clean and modern. There have been a few issues initially but the staff was trying to present a solution to them immediately. All in all a great overall experience, we can definitely recommend it.

Quinta Golfinho ligger i Arco da Calheta og har et utendørsbasseng, hage, terrasse og gratis WiFi over hele overnattingsstedet. Excellent location. The garden is beautiful and the sunset lounge is a wonderful spot to have your coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. Steffi and Alex are great and take Steffi’s advice about tracking on the island, she knows all the tracks…what is worth, where to start from where to stop to eat… Much was said about the way you access the villa and how steep the road is. Well, it is steep but that is Madeira… a lot of roads are like that and coming from a flat city can be intimidating but is part of the experience😊 Thank you Steffi for the bananas! Absolutely delicious!
