The location amazing, it is near the airport but you do not feel like you are near the airport. It is also right on the water and it is beautiful. All the workers are amazing and very accommodating. I would stay here again next time I come to Barbados.

I did not like the cleaning staff hanging up used towels in my room and not swopping them out. Also here were no television or iron/ board in the rooms.

There were no TVs. However, this gave us time to just relax. The shower was very powerful and hard to adjust, which meant my hair always got wet, but that's just a minor. The restaurant was a bit pricey for what you got, and there were days when not all food was available. For example: no bread for breakfast and although, there was a local shop at the end of the road.

This is a family run business. All family members were very helpful. The location, although out the way, was great, away from the hustle and bustle of busy roads and people. However, in an area where locals live who are very friendly. The beach could be seen from the grounds but was not accessible. However, I could walk around to Womans bay. The sea was quite rough but picturesque. The hotel room was cleaned daily, and the staff was always friendly and polite. Using local transport was great, easy to get around, and only cost 3.50 BBD to go anywhere. Buses run regularly and will stop anywhere to pick up and drop off. I would stay at this hotel again, and I would recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing but enjoyable holiday.

I really liked that they greeted the guests right away, they communicated all the information accurately. The hotel room was very comfy and it was very clean. They also have breakfast and dinner. Dinner was amazing.

It was a little far from everything. But it isn't a problem if you have transportation.

The location is beautiful. Love how quiet it is. All you can hear is the waves hitting the shoreline.

Lack of means to be shuttled anywhere. Very heavily dependent on having your own rental car or needing to pay for transportation often, so have a budget set aside for transportation to and from daily. The nuance: You trade a lack of access to the local availability of things to do for a much more tranquil experience instead of a tourist feel. Would highly recommend changing the shower head to be more accessible.

The area is very peaceful if you want to stay at a child free location. The staff is fantastic, able to work on booking excursions/transportation on your behalf, felt very safe and comfortable. The views are gorgeous. It has a VERY romantic scenery for us to celebrate our anniversary. The pool is great, with a direct view of the waves/coast.

I truly cannot find anything negative to say - my stay was wonderful.

OceanBlue is a true gem in Barbados... From the moment I arrived, the architecture and the artwork blew me away. The best way to describe this resort is as a Santorini village in the Caribbean where every building is like walking through an art gallery! But as nice and welcome as that part is, it's the staff that makes this place truly special. Literally from the moment you arrive, you are treated not as a customer or guest, but as family. From the owners, Liesje, James, and Lulu on down, everyone goes the extra mile to make you feel special and wanted - a true rarity these days. After just 24 hours there, I knew I'd be coming back soon - but I ended up almost immediately cutting a week-long stay at another location short to return to OceanBlue before I ended *this* Caribbean vacation! 100% recommend making this your first choice when visiting Barbados!

What a wonderful property! From the moment I arrived, I was treated like a friend. Liesje and the rest of the staff are so friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed my evenings at the bar chatting with Marc and Sally. Clean, comfortable, and quiet rooms. The staff arranged for transportation which was always prompt. The architecture around the property is amazing. Strong wifi throughout the property. It's not located on a swimming beach, but the pool area is equally nice. Close to the airport which is most convenient for an early morning departure. What a great place to end the holiday. Thank you again for your hospitality!

what wasn’t to like

last minute booking late in the day due to not getting on a flight… from the off James, Lulu & Liesje were very welcoming and accommodating, really nothing to much trouble. Hotel is close to the airport, on the coast with sea views, pool and on-site restaurant… very peaceful with a friendly atmosphere. When we return to Barbados we will definitely stay again if anything to say hello and for catch up with the team.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. Our flight arrived late in the evening and manager Leesha was there to greet us along with two staff who helped us with our bags to our room. She went above and beyond to enusre our stay was comfortable even giving us her own food as we arrived after everything was closed. The meals were not your average resort bulk food fare. The waitstaff were attentive and fun leaving us with smiles on our faces. The resort was clean and well kept. No surprises when you got to your room. The premises were also well maintained. Luxurious while still feeling welcoming and warm. Again I cannot stress how the staff went above to make us feel. My mother had accessibility needs and they even ensured the right type of vehicle come to pick us up. It was the attention to detail and their concern that really won us over. You have to walk out for 5 minutes to catch the bus/taxi, therefore, I recommend a car, there was not any TV in the rooms.

The staff with the most friendly, and courteous. They assisted me with all my challenges, the hotel is beautiful, and they have tight security and a lovely view of the beach, pool and happy hour 5-7pm in their bar. Great breakfast. Very very helpful staff, you will love them
