Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe hotel is located in a somewhat dingy district and is a bit off from the city centre (about 40 minutes to walk). However there is a train/metro station close by (Brussels Midi) with which you can reach the centre in a whim. While the breakfast was quite delicious, more variety would have been great.
The hotel is in great condition and tidy. Staff is highly welcoming and always there to help. Rooms are spacious and come equipped with all the necessities. Breakfast was good.

PortugalThe bathroom furniture is damaged. I missed the bacon and scrumble eggs at breakfast. Isnt easy to get to the city centre at night, and the best option is Uber, which is more expensive.
The rooms were clean. Breakfast was enough and with a good variety of products. The staff was superb and gave me many tips for visiting the city. The bar was open until late, and the environment was friendly.

United KingdomWe found a few things that were a little strange. The position of the hairdryer and the fact the lead was so short made using it a bit of an issue. The position of the toilet roll was strange and make it awkward to use.The kettle lead was so short we had to place it on the floor to use it. We were travelling with a lot of luggage and the lift was very small. The fridge wasn't working on our arrival though having complained a SECOND time this was replaced with a working fridge. The hotels location is a little far from the station and not close to any main attractions.
The staff were warm and welcoming and tried to help when needed. The room was clean, tidy and of a very good size. There was lots of workspace and it was nice to see 2 chairs in a room. Storage was ample and extra storage was available under the workspace. The tv and cable was great. Having travelled for 3 weeks it was a fantastic sight to open the bathroom door and actually see A BATH with a shower over it. The bath was a good size and idea for a long relaxing soak. We had an enjoyable stay and breakfast was adequate and enjoyable. On our last day the weather was horrendous and we decided to have a cosy day in watching the TV and chilling out. We decided to visit the local supermarket and stock up on supplies. On our return we asked at reception if we could have some plates and things for the room to make our day easier. This request was met immediately and with no problems whatsoever. We asked on check-out if a taxi could be called to take us to the eurostar and this arrived quickly. Although I have listed some negative points on the whole the hotel was of a good quality with good staff.

SwedenVery friendly and helpful staff in the reception, both at check in day 1 and breakfast and check out day 2. Glutenfree bread and cereals at breakfast. Would have been lovely to also have some more alternatives when you look at the "non glutenfree" bread table filled with croassants, bread with chocolate, cookies etc.

IndiaThe room should have been larger. The lighting should have been better. More trendy. The sorest point was the lack of power points in the room - there were just two! It meant that if you were watching TV, you couldn't charge your phones or boil water for tea; and vice-versa! The room needs at least three more power points- one near the table for the electric kettle and one each near the beds, for charging phones/cameras.This aspect needs to be addressed immediately.
The location was good, three bus stops and a short walk away from Brussels Midi station. The staff was super friendly - one of the friendliest we have met on our numerous trips to Europe so far. The lobby was nice - enjoyed a game of chess every evening, after we returned from the sightseeing. The bathroom was clean and good. House-keeping was excellent changed towels and napkins daily.

FinlandLoud noises could be hear from outside and other rooms. Even though breakfast was nice, it could be updated with other pastries than croissant variants. Had a strange feeling when arriving to the hotel. The location / area was a bit shady. Not necessarily the hotels fault, just keep it in mind if you're for example: traveling alone.
Solid hotel, worth every penny. Hotel interior and romms were super nice. Spacious and comfortable beds. The 24h open reception was a welcome surprise. Breakfast and other facilities in the hotel were nice.
