Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Estoniabut the room we had was tiny and the elevator could hardly fit 2 people with bags. there was a tiny bit of window opening to a patio kind of corridor. In the description of the hotel room there was 'view to the mountain' which is not expected in anywhere in Belgium, but why necessary to mention this even though there's even zero view to the city? My friend who stayed with me ,called the room as 'prison vibes'. The picture that was offered for the room was from a different room.
Staff were very nice and friendly and responsive. Always available and at service.

LuxembourgI didn’t like the smell of cigarettes that was left in our room, we found a cigarette bud under the bed, which tells me the cleaning staff don’t really clean it properly. We stayed three nights and our room only got cleaned on the third day after the receptionist asked us to. Which I thought was a little weird, they should be doing it everyday. Then noise when sleeping with the windows open is unbearable, the last night we stayed there I’m pretty sure we either witnessed domestic aboard or child abuse in the next door buildings. So that wasn’t really the hotels fault. Just bothersome.
It was close to the beach and the tram , everything was relatively close.

BelgiumThe room and bathroom require general renovation! First impression is terrible...second also ;p ; terrible acoustics: the morning shower of the neighbors can be heard as if they were bathing in my bedroom; the light in the corridor worked 50/50 cases, I had to look for my room with a flashlight (there is no window so even during the day it is completely dark), the view from the window in the room overlooks the wall of a tall building, about 2-3m next to it, so it was dark in the room, it was hard to see even small peace of the sky to checked the weather outside. Price to high for this standard, if it was cheap i would say "ok, this is only place to sleep, i dont need much". At least for the time when they are doing some repairs in the building and some things are not working (e.g. lights, lack of electricity in some contacts), prices should be much more attractive

BelgiumThe facility is very small. Being pregnant and traveling with 2 young kids and a suitcase, could barely fit into the elevator. The room was very noisy, can hear the traffic and all from outside. You hear people next door or in the hall as if they are in the room with you. The shower and bathtub should be replaced asap. No fridge in the room No TV. ( Blood) Stains on curtains?? The corridor is very narrow. No breakfast. Okay for a short stay.
The location is great, the beach, shops and public transportation are just around the corner. The staff at the desk are friendly and welcoming.

Czech RepublicThe room was small, I mean really small, like 2x3 or something like that. There is no Wifi (really in 21st Century?, no TV, facilities - old and cheep looking. If you meet some local girl at the bar, dont take her to your room for an follow up session (or if you must drink some more :-)).
Great location close to beach and tourist part of the town. Price comparing to other hotels in this area is very reasonable. Stuff was very helpful.

United KingdomMost of the building was dirty, the lift was dirty too. The lift was broken at one stage. No curtains, some flimsy shutters that slide along and don't keep light from the other room out. An air ventilation fan on the outside of the building was whirling 24/7 (all night while attempting to sleep) and was very loud. Not much sleep was possible. The room was boiling. It was more like a holding cell. One pillow.not.very comfortable. Hardly any loo roll and wasn't replaced daily, no new soap or shower gel provided after the first day. The room was not cleaned on the second day. When I first arrived they offered me a room where the bed had not been cleaned or made and towels all over the floor. They moved me to one that was ready. It was more like staying in a prison. Absolute rubbish. The small coffee machine downstairs had a variety of choices on offer, but no milk was in the machine. The place was totally grim, probably a drug den or brothel.
The second room they offered was clean and the bathroom decent.

BelgiumWe were 3 ppl and there were only two sockets (3 including the bathroom one) in total in our rooms so we had to take turns to charge our phones. We were on the street side so it was quite noisy, and the room needs an Aircon bc it was fine for one night but I can't imagine staying there a few days with hot weather. The bathroom was clean and fine but the water from the shower goes onto the whole floor as there's nothing to block the water but it's not a major inconvenience.
The staff was very friendly, the room was what I expected for the price and cleaner than some comments suggest... Y'all need to learn to read, it's clearly stated there's no breakfast or fridges in the room so don't expect that ! + Good WiFi When it comes to the location it's very close to the beach and all the restaurants and supermarkets so there's everything you need there.

GermanyNothing to complain. We booked a hotel close to the beach at a good price and everything was good.
You get what you pay for. A good price for an older hotel with everything totally okay. How can people complain, when they pick a cheaper hotel. I.e. closing the doors quietly, which people ate complaining about. Just push the door handle from inside the room when leaving, that way you can take over and push the door handle outside the room, which is blocked, if you try to only push the outside door handle. So closing the door quietly is possible. And complaining about neighbours looking into your room? Well, close the nice wooden blinds. Extra points for one of the friendliest staff member, we have ever met.

BelgiumI missed having a kettle to boil water in. There was no way to make a cup of coffee in the room. You could buy some downstairs, however. Not the best place for people with mobility issues since the elevator was rather small.
Our room was clean - practical and beautifully furnished. The wooden blinders kept the sun out nicely and gave the interior that seaside touch. All in all, it was a lovely space for the price per night. 1 minute walk to the seaside and Kursaal Ostende - perfect location for exploring both the center of town and the beach. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
