Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Unfortunately this hotel did not do breakfast and was going through annual painting and carpet replacing.

United KingdomThe room wasn't clean at all . There was hair from previous guests on the bed sheets, the carpet wasnt clean and the wall behind the bed was very dirty . Also the air conditioning wasn't strong . It took couple of hours to get warm . There was a code to unlock the TV program and I had to go back to the reception to get it .

United StatesUncomfortable beds. Not enough pillows and no others were offered even after asking (extra pillows in cabinet had what looked like blood stains). Bed headboards had suspicious stains. Refrigerator was broken. In room safe was broke. Not all of the wall sockets worked. No desk to work at and when we asked for one they only brought a broken chair and assumed the small end table was a desk. Daily housekeeping only changed towels, nothing more. No floor towels were offered, which means slippery floors. Breakfast was not offered because I did not notify or pay the day before—but wasn't told I needed to. Front desk was not interested in helping and ignored me when standing at the desk despite asking for help. Hotel hallways smelled terribly.
Nothing of note. The room was big and the balcony was nice. Service and cleanliness was awful.

United KingdomI did not like anything about the property. Payment - we were made to pay in cash as only option for payment. Physical cash. They did not work with debit or credit cards and did not provide receipt or anything confirming the payment. This indicate for criminal activities and dodgy. Atmosphere- There were many young footballers and around them very dodgy and scary, huge individuals (some of them private security guys) with tattoos and they were all around the place. They looked like security guys from a night club. The location- was difficult to find and enter inside the barrier where we saw very dodgy security old guy who was looking at us really bad and scary. The room - Nothing as described was there. Very, very dirty, it did not have forks or cutlery. No comfort. Bad sounds from outside shouting people and construction. The staff - they made us wait more than 2 hours and more even though we arrived on time for check in 2pm. It was bad because initially they said you need to wait around 20 minutes but we ended up waiting 2 hours.
Nothing. I left the place as soon as we saw the room.

BulgariaDifficult to find the location, no signs about the location or helping visitor to find it easy. When we gave the direction from booking it brought us in Iliyantsy - 15 km away... The staff at reception did't informed about hotel facilities, policy, forgot to give us the keys??? So we had to ask about them. The room was dirty (the floor)The furniture broken (chair was broken had to put it next to the wall to be able to use it somehow).20 BGN additional pay for sauna or steam bath each. The only good thing was that the fitness could be used at any time. Noisy room - music from the bar above 😔.
