How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Get that swimming pool and pool table guys :)
The hostel is run by a family and they are absolutely amazing people. They make the atmosphere of the hostel great. Breakfast is nice, the beds are good, it's social but not a party, you have everything you need. It's clean and the people are very helpful.

I don’t mind walking but downtown is about 15-20 min walk. Thankfully the bus stop is at the roundabout so if you take the bus with your bags you can get off less than 5min away
Great facilities. Liked the fan option with the AC. Really easy to get trips booked by the staff. They are very helpful. They have scooters available for those who want to explore on their own as well. Lots of kitchen stuff to cook.

Everything is amazing!
Super calm the staff super friendly and always helping gide in me with all the questions even before arrive!! They are well organized, cats and 1 dog they are super friendly. I love it.

Only down sides was air con was an additional cost which wasn't the case anywhere else we stayed. Also, the breakfast didn't have much variety, and the eggs went cold quickly, so you had to get there as soon as it started.
Good hostel all around, and very easy to book excursions through them. The staff were nice too.

Nothing. Simple and basic but great!
I liked the included breakfast. Beds were also VERY comfortable. Staff were friendly. Great location for the ruins and Iguana Conservation Project. Would stay again.

The washrooms/showers are right next to the huge front doors and windows. Other than that I have zero to complain about it was an amazing stay!
Beautiful hostel!! Super clean, activities run all the time, breakfast included, extraordinary staff! I went during the low season and had my entire dorm to myself but it was spacious and easily could have held 4 people with plenty of space. With large storage lockers inside of the rooms and located less than 500 metres from a Mayan ruin, which the hostel offers cheap super informative tours of. "The Cozy Restaurant" nearby also has superb food for cheap

A little way out of town but an easy 10-15 minute stroll in. Lounge area could have had more comfortable seating.
Fantastic hostel breakfast (eggs, bread, oats, granola, cereal, orange juice, fresh fruit). Staff were very friendly and helped with booking ATM caves and shuttle bus. I thought I had booked an AC room but obviously didn’t. The girls put it on for me anyway when I asked.

Its a 20 minute out of the centre of town, but has some local restaurants and shops.
A good hostel to stay in when in transit through San Ignacio. Well organised for backpackers, with a substantial tipico breakfast, film and quiz nights, and helpful staff with information for travellers and trips.

Staff could have been more helpful with information about the tours, but generally they were nice.
Really liked this hostel- it felt very clean with good beds, amazing breakfast and the location is great, close to ruins and a great resort where you can use their pool.

Breakfast was a typical hostel brekkie (toast, peanutbutter, ...) It's located uphill. You may consider this, when walking from the center with heavy luggage.
Beautiful room, we felt really comfortable there! The staff is super nice!! There are social activities organised every day, and the general vibe is great. Fresh fruits in the morning. For Belize, it was a fairly priced place to stay!

Can’t fault anything about this place. It was a great hostel and had a great vibe, many other backpackers. One of the rare hostels with enough bathrooms too! Has a nice deck and activities, can book any tour or transfer with them. Breakfast was also simple but nice. 10/10!

In a 6 bed dorm without curtains. Although there was an AC, it was explicitly labelled as a fan-only room. Only after the second night, we understood we could pay extra to have the AC turned on at night (which was very much needed).
A nice atmosphere, combined with a great outdoor area (hammocks, chairs, ...) and indoor common room and kitchen. Together with the fact that it was a building with different bathrooms (each with a toilet, sink & shower), it had a home vibe. They offer different excursions via their network, which was very handy.

The beds had no orivacy curtains but not a major issue
I liked the breakfast and how the bathrooms and showers were there own individual cubicle and the free drinking water is invaluable in this heat

I had an amazing stay at this hostel in San Ignacio, Belize. The location was convenient, the atmosphere was chill, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel was spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was delicious. They also offered great activities like trips to the ATM cave. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting San Ignacio.
