How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

found the reception staff a little rude and unhelpful. no explanation of the facilities. never heard of a hotel needing a deposit before for a crib.

Fairly limited restaurant menu. This hotel was a bit expensive compared with other hotels we stayed in during our vacation to Nova Scotia and PEI.
Wherever we travel, we always aim to stay in a hotel very close to the airport for the night before our flight (less stress). The Alt hotel is joined by a walkway to the Halifax Stanfield Airport. We found the hotel to be very modern, clean, with a comfortable bed. We had a room on the 10th floor with a great view of the runway. The restaurant has a fairly limited menu, but the food and cocktails were great. The staff in the restaurant were really friendly and happy, the service was excellent. The swimming pool is small, but really clean. I recommend this hotel.

I'm not satisfied with the price $370 per night is too much, it is a half of the flight ticket that I had. For this price we would like to have at least something for breakfast for free.
The best thing about the hotel is it's location, it is excellent. The room is also good - modern, convenient, small but to spend there just 1 night it is perfect.

Room price including taxes seemed overpriced and seemed to be taking advantage of the location. Being forced to use airport overnight parking for an additional charge didn’t help alleviate that impression.
Location literally attached to the airport was perfect for what we needed, as my wife was arriving at almost 2am. Very clean and well kept property.

Noisy elevator but we asked for a quiet room and were given a corner room away from elevator and stairs.
Clean and modern! Comfy bed, crisp clean sheets. Great AC. Beautiful views. Superb location. Will stay again.

A bit noisy. Would have liked some more choice on the restaurant menu.
Our group stayed for one night before catching very early flights out of Halifax. Fabulous location allowed us to walk across the over bridge directly into the terminal without fuss in time for check-in. Loved the lounge chair/recliner in the room.

The price for the room being a concrete cell.
Bar tender stayed a little longer on his shift to serve me a beer after arriving at 1 am. They gave me a top floor room with a good view. The room was clean and comfortable.

What look like mold on the trim of the shower and the little consistent running of the toilet, had to close the door. No microwave for popcorn.
Convenient to the airport for an early morning flight, very rainy and the walk over the concourse was great! Even to keep the airport carts in room.

No kettle. No tea. No milk.. had to work out how to use the coffee machine for hot water, not very hot. Couldn't work out how to use TV guide, shouldn't be so difficult. Very expensive.
