How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The home keeping team made up my room despite putting up a sign for privacy and, even worse, left the door open !. The admin team at the desk was made aware instantly.

Check In / Out was smooth. Rooms were clean, spacious and well equipped. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was good.

I wish they had a self serve washer and dryer for guests.
The kitchenette had an apartment sized fridge, cooking elements, and even a dishwasher making it easy to prep meals in our room.

We were in town to spend time with family and the pool was a main factor of our booking. The pool temperature was rather cool.
Our stay was great. This is our second time at this location. The hotel is very clean, the staff are excellent and the space is very welcoming.

Room door was damaged, the paint was flaking off and was getting tracked into our room. Ceiling needed repairs from water damage.
Staff was friendly and took care of all requests promptly. Property was clean. Breakfast buffet offered a variety of foods and there was plenty to eat.

CONS: long stay should have some discounts instead of charging nightly. The rest of CONS are minor and can be ignored, but here they are: - despite breakfasts being great by U.S. standards - they can't compete with even a mediocre European breakfast - despite room-cleaning is great overall - the housekeeping ladies never open sofa beds (full of crumbles/chips/candies/etc) and never clean under heavy furniture like armchair/sofa. I know it's a "norm" for U.S. and the spots they did reach to clean are all shiny and exceptional :) - minuscule cups (150ml or so) don't work well for tea-lovers
PROS: Full kitchen, large fridge, quiet, comfy, up to Hilton standards. Wednesday dinners. Enjoyable 1-bedroom stay as always.

I forgot a really expensive jar of green powder drink mix in the cupboards so I contacted them right away when I got home that night. Three email requests later, and two “we’ll pass it along to housekeeping” replies later, I’m pretty disappointed. I offered to pay shipping and expressed how it was expensive and I really really need it back. I was ghosted after the third email. No email from housekeeping. Not even a “we tried but sorry it was thrown out” (trust me anyone who saw this and felt that it was totally full, right beside a shaker bottle that wasn’t ever there before, wouldn’t have just thrown it out). A really nice trip ended on a disappointed feeling that I wish I hadn’t forgotten it. I know it’s my fault, just bummed about how it was handled by the staff.
Front counter staff was friendly and kind. The stay was good. I mentioned it was my daughters first hotel stay when I booked. They gave us a room on the top floor with the good view. Might of been a coincidence but maybe they did it on purpose for her? Either way it was really nice for her.

The rooms could have been cleaner - the pull out couch hadnt been cleaned - I know cause there was popcorn and dirt when I lifted the cushions

I found the air conditioning units to be quite loud which wasn’t great for a restful sleep. The decor seemed a bit basic and outdated (ie bed linens were torn in places).
Had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, the suite with a separate lounge/bedroom helped make it feel a bit like home away from home.
