Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaGetting dated for the cost. Tea/coffee facility in room but only get paper cups. Rooms only serviced every 3 days which is fine for the towels sheets but should re supply the other consumables. Had to ask. Again expected more for $350 per night.
Location was OK. Big room (king).

CanadaThere was lots of construction around the hotel during the day. There is major construction on the Granville bridge. It wasn't a problem at night but access to parking and drop off was a bit restrictive. It is probably why this excellent hotel was a reasonable price.
The location was excellent. Right on Granville st close to the downtown, shopping and bars and entertainment. It was about a kilometer walk to the nearest large grocery store but there were lots of restaurants in the area. Walking along Davie St was a treat.

United KingdomPillows were very lumpy, as if they had been in a washing machine. Toilet cistern condensation dropping onto the tiles so wet feet at night.. The aircon was so noisy, had to be switched off at night leaving just the noisy fridge. Hotel needs some updating, large gap under the door allows noise and bright corridor light to illuminate the room, too many led lights (tv, clock, alarm, fridge, microwave, something lit upon the ceiling), like being in a cockpit!
Pleasant welcome on arrival. Room was a decent size and a view from 11th floor. Enjoyed the use of the kitchen area on 12th floor, immaculate. Didn't use the steam room and the jacuzzi wasn't working. Handy to have the White Spot pub adjoining the hotel, ideal for a drink or bite to eat without having to go outside. Hotel was a 25 minute walk from the waterfront, Sea bus and cruise ships. Nearby is Granville Island and its market, we walked over the bridge and took the small boat back to Hornby Street. Lots of seats to sit and watch the world go by listening to a guy singing with a guitar.

CanadaThere was an odor in the halls and in the room similar to cigarette smoke. Either that or just from being older, not sure. Parking was $38 with tax which is annoying.
Parking was secure. Water pressure was amazing. Clean and updated spacious rooms.

CanadaThe pillows aren't the best but okay. Bathroom, windows showed the hotel's age. Air conditioning unit didn't work and toilet ran several times a day. As in other reviews, the elevators are super slow and you can hear noise from other guests in the halls or if they are loud in their room, but its short lived. Overall, nothing that made the stay unpleasant. Just things to be aware of if you are wanting a super luxurious experience. It's above basic though.
Good location. A mix of demographics but generally feels safe. A short walk to Robson and Yaletown. Probably a 30-40 min walk to the Maritime Museum, Stanley Park, and a beach. .

AustraliaBathroom was a bit run-down. The cabinets had water damage due to the shower curtain being broken and letting the shower water spray all over the toilet/cabinet area. Our toilet became blocked easily and the shower water went cold after about 5 minutes. The shower tap was also hard to turn. There were only 2 coffee packets and 2 sweeteners provided and we kept running out in the mornings
was in a good spot, had nice beds, a tv, microwave and fridge.

New ZealandThe room wasn't cheap, and was quite small... not too much of an issue for me as I was by myself but would have bothered me if there would have been 2 of us. Also, even though it had coffee facilities in the room, there weren't any proper cups or glasses, nor was there any cutlery, even though the room had a microwave to heat up food. There also wasn't any milk. Otherwise the room was comfortable and the bed was nice. The hotel/saloon across the road was quite noisy at night with a lot of young people hanging outside on the intersection. I didn't feel comfortable going out on my own outside the hotel at night.
The staff were very helpful, and as my room was ready I could check in early, as soon as I arrived at the hotel, which was helpful for me as I just came off a plane with all my luggage. The bed was comfortable and the room was easy to heat. Staff were also helpful the next day storing my luggage so I could explore the city a bit more before flying out in the evening.

CanadaNew or cleaned shower head. The shower head had some build up possibly causing it to spray water in every which direction.
It was clean but small and simple though I don’t travel to Vancouver often our friends stayed in another hotel with a room just as small so it seems to be the normal. They could have used a new shower head but other than that the room served its purpose. They were doing floor Reno’s when we arrived in the lobby but it was done before the end of the day. Location wise I’m not to sure as we booked a concert that got canceled so we had to make other plans which resulted in a lot of taxis by no means their fault but everything we wanted to do seemed to be a 30 minute walk away. Staff was lovely and check in and out was super quick and easy and they even let us check in a few hours early. I would return if I had an event to attend near by
