The property has been very responsive both via booking and by phone. The staff was composed, helpful, and considerate. It was our first visit but they made us (dog included) feel welcome. Cleanliness was spot on both in the room and common areas. Stay at the hotel restaurant as the chef develops and executes daily excellent menus. The location is perfect for hiking as many trails start directly from the doorstep.

I stayed 4 nights and I've had such a pleasant stay, everything was just perfect: beautifuly decorated, lovely and clean rooms, attention to details ,amazing wellness spa, great breakfast, lovely staff and a warm vibe in general. Claudia and Gerhard are the loveliest and most welcoming hosts i've ever met , always there happy to help. The hotel is very close to gondola just 5 min walking. I highly recommend it for solo travelers.

The hotel is very well located, is very comfortable and clean, the food is great and the best of all is the amazing service they have. They were very helpful during our stay, our dog was attacked by other during a hike and the hotel offer to transport us to the veterinary and were extremely helpful during the rest of our stay, thank you very much to the whole staff we will definitely be back.

The pillow was a tad too soft to my liking but the extra pillow in the room helped. But nothing really, highly recommend the hotel for its price!

The staff was super nice, they were attentive and friendly. Dinner and breakfast were just lovely - it helped that it rained when I stayed there, creating a super cosy atmosphere inside the hotel. Overall, it was such a relaxing place to unwind in Kandersteg.

The room bathroom is a bit small but functional. The cappuccino was the weak point of the otherwise excellent breakfast: sorry, I am a very demanding Italian when it comes to coffee... ;-)

The location is perfect, walking distance from everything in the town and with a great view (which other hotels likely don't have this unobstructed). The staff is warm and professional at the same time, very Swiss! The room is comfortable and quiet. The restaurant is also excellent. The free parking is icing on the cake.

Hb evening meal menu choice limited ( very minor point)

My Wife and I had previously stayed at This lovely Hotel 14 years ago and I promised myself that I would once again return! We have just returned spending a further 4 wonderful days at The Bernerhof. Claudia, Gerhard and the whole team were very friendly and welcoming . This time we opted for a Mountain View room which was comfortable spotlessly clean with views of the mountains to die for. Eating at the hotel is a real pleasure with great friendly service . We decided on the Half board option for Evening meals , the 4 course meals were beautifully presented , however my only minor observation was that the menu choices were quite limited. But on reflection looking at cost of eating out generally in Switzerland I think that the 45Chf per person still represents good value. And as said the service is excellent. Our verdict after 14 years The Hotel is still quite wonderful with lovely hard working efficient friendly hosts

We didnt like the spot lights illuminating the hotel frontage pointing directly into our window. It was pouring of rain when we arrived and the hotel is quite a walk from the train station. Although we arrived 1 hour before checkin time and we were allowed to leave our bags a nice touch would have been to be offered a coffee or seat as we were.

The owners are very welcoming and the food is delicious. We’ve stayed before but this time we went specifically for the set menu and the breakfast. We were not disappointed as the main meal exceeded our expectations. The beds are very comfortable and the views from the rooms are amazing.

Friendly and helpful staff ensured a most enjoyable stay in this well located hotel. Very high standard of catering for both breakfast and evening meal. As half board guests we were most impressed with the choices given for the evening meal. Hotel is located within easy access to the town centre and a short walk to the train station. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel in all aspects.

Lovely hotel with clean amenities in a beautiful area. I stayed here to visit Lake Oeschinen and it was perfect, close by to the cable cart and I also received discount through hotel for the cable cart. Great breakfast. Nice staff. Would highly recommend and revisit in the future.
