Hôtel on top of an à Indian restaurant with persistent odor at entrance and in corridors but not in the room.

Indian restaurant in the hotel was very nice, the room was ok but a bit old already, but the location was perfect. we were staying there for 1 night and it was both convenient to walk to old town and cycle to SBB train station. There was also no problem with storing our bikes

The bed was very hard! There is no air conditioning so we were glad it was not hot while we were there. We were on the street side so it was noisy

Beds are firm. Nothing major but worth mentioning. Also, when you open the windows you might be reminded of the indian restaurant on the entrance floor. Not due to any noise but I’m thinking of the spices. However, if you like a curry this is not a problem ;-)

Clean and relatively spacious room. Friendly and helpful staff. Travelpass (trams/buses) for the whole stay was included in the accomodation price. Really good location, easily within walking distance to most worth-seeing-spots. Also really close to the shopping district.

Entrance of hotel would benefit from improvement - very limited seating area and deserves paintwork etc.

Wifi signal weak in some parts of the hotel (we got a different room after complaining).

Close to the city center, great breakfast, possibility to park the car in a private parking space within walking distance. Friendly staff. Gluten free options both for dinner as for breakfast.

Bathroom was not in a good shape. Show hanger was broken. The toilet needed some maintenance too.

The front desk lady was exceptionally helpful. She arranged a place for my bike. She made sure I can get it early in the morning since I was leaving before hotel's staff would come.

There was not enough light in the room and the mattresses were not very comfortable.

The location of the hotel is excellent!. Just next to the Spalentor and close to a lot of public transport. The staff was very kind, they helped us a lot and were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, I like the design of the bathroom.

The rooms are very old and poorly maintained. Toilets have old tiling that has clearly just been painted over but with visible loose joints and broken extractors. Furniture is chipped and clearly old, looks like it was collected from a charity shop. Carpet throughout is stained and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since 1963. No heavy curtains in the room, just a clear veil so don’t expect a lie in if you’re bothered by the light. Staff are helpful when you see them but the desk was always unmanned, so not easy to ask questions. Even the hotel card was old that the code to access the hotel after hours was blurred out, so it was a challenge to gain access back in! Breakfast is decent, just a continental with shop-bought basic items, no hot food (other than coffee). I cannot believe it cost as much as it did, even for Switzerland. The price for the room should definitely reflect the decaying state of the property and awful facilities. Had to extend my stay in Basel for separate reasons and booked a room in a Weil am Rhein hotel for half the price and thrice the quality, had I known this I would’ve skipped this disappointment of a hotel! Learn from my mistakes and book elsewhere.

Good location, very central and with good transport links to the rest of the city. Towels and bedding were clean, comfortable pillows. Staff were friendly.

There was no curtain at our window just a piece of ill fitted net curtain which didn’t give me any privacy least sleeping and there was a street light outside the window which shine on us whilst trying to sleep. Went down to reception to try to move but there was no one on reception or any where in the hotel, we were not told that the hotel was not staffed at night. The plug socket by my bed was a fire hazard and sparked when I removed the plug. There was a pair of dirty knickers that had been left in the wardrobe by a previous guest. Breakfast was very limited. Hotel decor was very very tired, felt more like a hostel.

The guy on reception when we arrived was nice and helpful but I never saw him again. Everyone else was quite surly. Location was good. Rooms were clean.

Staff was nice and tried to be helpful. But cleaning wasn't done, they walked in while one of us was still in bed and later on didn't return to clean. Also the battery of doorlock was low, promise made to replace it next day, wasn't done.

Location is good and a parking place nearby can be arranged for 15 a day, which is good for Basel.
