Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWhen we arrived the reception ladies told us that what we paid on booking.com was only a deposit and charged us extra on the day for the room. They wouldn’t let us stay otherwise. The beds were very uncomfortable and I asked for a different pillow and they told me to try use a towel as a pillow. The breakfast was very limited. The transport “car” was an old bus with cigarette ashes everywhere. Not cutlery in the room and no mini bar as advertised.

United KingdomBRING CASH! Our biggest issue was food and cash facilities. We arrived after the restaurant was closed, and left before breakfast had started. We were on a layover and the hotel is promoted as attached to airport. It’s on me for not doing more research, however being an airport hotel, I made the poor assumption I would be able to use Visa. Nope. Can use Visa to pay for the accommodation, but not for anything else. No shops or restaurants in the area accept Visa, there is no ATM facilities and the one food vending machine at the hotel needed specific payment apps we didn’t have. I explained our predicament to staff, they had no solution and were under friendly in general, they suggested we go back to the airport (15/20 min bus trip). We ate a bag of airline cookies for dinner. Don’t use the kettle.
The room was large and nice, the bed was comfortable. Shuttle bus was handy.

NetherlandsThe staff was unfriendly, the breakfast was except for the eggs and some fruit nothing I could eat or drink. The shuttlebus was horrible to contact. Apparently the bus is called ‘cloud hotel’ and we had to call 4 times to the reception because they didn’t speak English so we had to wait almost 1 hour to get into the shuttlebus.
The room was spacious and modern, nothing wrong with that.

United KingdomWe were here for our transit. They didn’t know English, the breakfast wasn’t edible! It was horrible!! And even if u want to go out to buy food, u have to pay with something called ‘wepay’ if u don’t have it u can’t buy anything with ur credit cards or debit cards. They say cash is okay, but no atm anywhere! We starved ourselves until we got to the airport! Honestly don’t go to this hotel! It’s horrendous! They tried to say we will give 10% discount if we leave a good review,I refused! No wonder why there were good reviews when I booked! Honestly can’t trust anyone or reviews!

AustraliaI had an 8:20 am flight, so was given a take-out breakfast, which from memory was a can of highly-processed something which after opening I didn't recognise and decided I wouldn't eat, plus a bread roll, plus an apple juice. I ate the bread roll, which was passable. At check-in I was offered a choice of '4 am or 6am' for the return shuttle for my 8:20 am flight. Even though I felt I was being pushed to take the 4am bus, I opted for the 6am one – the bus was very crowded, and there's no real space for anything but light luggage you can hold in front of you, no space for roll-aboard type luggage etc.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus service, which picks up pax from Gate 43 in Terminal 2 and (from memory) Gate 29 in Terminal 1. Guangzhou aiport is modern and quite beautiful, but lacking in helpful signage, or people who can help. My problem was that no-one in Terminal 2 who gave me directions bothered to tell me that Gate 43 was up two levels, and not on the arrival level at all. After much wandering around and asking various people, I eventually got to Gate 43 and the shuttle bus came along shortly afterwards. It was about a 15 minute drive to the hotel, and check-in was pleasant and fairly quick. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. Not sure why the curtains had to open every time I came back to the room and put my room card in its slot, though.

AustraliaPick up from the airport was really confusing. You have to call or message the hotel on arrival at the airport but hard to call and no one in the airport helps. Messaged over and over and finally found the pickup bus by chance after 45 minutes. Breakfast was very average, cold noodles and spring rolls. Wifi is terrible, don’t even bother! We paid for two nights accommodation even though we only had a 15hour (6am-9pm same day) stopover, not sure if we had to but after calling the hotel weeks before to enquire, no one could understand my question so I booked it anyway to make sure we had a room.

United KingdomWe stayed for 1 night awaiting transit flight the next day. We checked-in about 7pm and after quick shower, we were ready for dinner. The news that restaurant is closed really shocked us as the location is not giving much of a choice. We were told KFC is round the corner, however unfortunately they weren’t accepting card payments- it’s hard to expect from travellers to have Chinese money for a quick transfer so we ended up going to sleep hungry as there are no ATMs either! Not good enough and really disappointing from the hotel point of view!

NetherlandsTold the hotel when I would arrive at the airport including my flight number so they could arrange the shuttle, they told me to call them when I get to the meeting point, not being able to call anyone in china it took me more then an hour and 2 visits to the airport information desks . Would be also nice to know what the shuttle looks like beforehand when it's just an unmarked white care so you have no way of knowing which one it is .
Cleanest hotel room I ever stayed in, everything looks brandnew, largest tv I have ever seen in a hotel room as well, very decent breakfast buffet
