At some place it was not smelling good. Not in the room or at the swimming therefore it was not a big problem.

The team, Frankie and the tea master where all very nice. The swimming pool is even nicer than on the picture with a beautiful view.

We liked everything here.

We had a truly relaxing and wonderful holiday at this cozy and beautiful resort! It’s tucked away in a quiet area, yet conveniently close to the west gate of the national forest park. The staff were incredibly hospitable and kind. They offered us helpful tourist information, taxi services and assisted with our luggage. The ladies in the kitchen prepared authentic and delicious local dishes—some of which were made with fresh vegetables they picked straight from their own garden! One of the things we appreciated most was the resort’s location. It allows you to explore the park against the main tourist flow. Most visitors stay near the east, north, or south gates, and most tours begin from either the south or east. Staying near the west gate gave us a more peaceful and unique experience of Zhangjiajie. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a more tranquil way to enjoy the park!

Not so much to dislike about this place. The food might be a little limited, but on the other hand the food was just really good!

This place is a gem. The property is just amazing, with its rice fields, lotus pool, infinity pool overlooking the valley and all the thousand other beautiful things that were there. Frankie made sure we had a lovely place with our family and helped me out with everything we could wish for. Super close to the national park of zhangjiajie this is one of the most relaxing and beautiful places I have been!

The location was dreamy!! The scenery was breathtaking and the accommodations very nicely designed. The hotel is far from the city, but there were daily activities which made it nice! Bar and karaoke included 💁🏻‍♀️

Frankie was exceptional. He ensured we knew how to navigate the park and even assisted us once we left the stay. The view at the pool and noodles were outstanding. My friend and I drank tea that was freshly prepared by the beautiful tea lady. I had a lovely trip the only sad part was that I didn’t stay longer.

This hotel was just incredible, nestled within the valley with uninterrupted views for sunset. Staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating. They helped us booked everything for the national forest when we got there and the free shuttle to and from the drop off point was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Some insects indoors as others have mentioned, which is expected in a rural mountain setting, but staff responded quickly and without judgement.

My sister and I stayed for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff were warm and helpful, and the free shuttle to the West Gate made exploring easy. They even provided a detailed map and insider tips we couldn’t find online. The buffet breakfast was lovely and filling for exploring the national park, and the in-house tea master is so inviting, offering delicious home-grown tea and gifted us beautiful calligraphy. The room had two air conditioners, and the two large pools (including an infinity pool with sunset views) were a highlight. Special thanks to Rain, the manager, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

The Valley No. 5 Lodge sits in a one-of-a-kind location amid the Zhangjiajie Forest Park mountain scenery. The beds were very comfortable, the only noises were made by birds and frogs, and the service and staff led by the wonderful Rain were exceptional. We loved our stay here!

This is a really special place. Frankie and his team at the lodge are so helpful and friendly and the location of the lodge is stunning. The lodge is located a 5 minute drive from one of the gates to the park and the team at the lodge will drive you to the gate and pick you up when you need. We ate at the lodge on both nights of our stay and we were so impressed with the food! They serve a lot of local dishes and everything we ate was delicious. One of the team makes many different types of teas and shared them all with us at the end of both days. It was a very special experience. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is a little sanctuary in the mountains.

Everything was perfect! There is nothing that we didn't like!

There really wasn't anything we didn't like - it was all perfect! Rain communicated with us ahead of time, helped us with all arrangements, and made sure we were taken care of. The hotel is about 1.5 hours drive from the airport, in beautiful countryside. I would describe the vibe as rustic elegance. We had room #2 with a downstairs dining room and bathroom and private balcony, and upstairs was our bed, seating area, second bathroom, and private balcony with outdoor tub. The view over the rice terrace was stunning. The terraces are available for guests so we enjoyed spending time looking at the view there as well. Everything was absolutely stunning and wonderful. We're so glad we booked a stay here!

This place is a gem. Rain and his colleague were extremely helpful and both spoke excellent English. Beautiful spacious rooms. Great food for breakfast and dinner. A fun little bar with karaoke for after dinner. Warm infinity pool to soak the bones after a long day out in the park. It is a few minutes drive from the West gate. They drop you off and pick you up for free whenever you want. Service in general outstanding. Sad to leave

Some guests might not like the presence of insects, but that’s completely normal given the lodge is surrounded by nature.

Our stay at No.5 Valley Lodge was excellent! The staff was amazing – especially Rain, who was incredibly helpful and always available when we needed something. Everyone working there was kind and made us feel truly welcome. The location is peaceful and beautiful, perfect for relaxing after exploring the area.

There is not much on the West Gate side of the National Park, so the hotel is quite secluded, if you are after a lot of night life then its not the best place. But we really enjoyed the peaceful nights here.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy hotel. It is located very close to the west gate of ZhangJiaJie National Park, and the hotel manager, Rain, helped us organize a free shuttle to the entrance during our trips to the park. He also helped us book tickets for the various attractions around the area, including the National Park, ZhangJiaJie Grand Canyon, Yellow Dragon Cave. Rain was very knowledgeable about the area and even planned out the whole day's route throughout the National Park. The route he recommended allowed us to see all the best places in the national park, additionally since we travelled West to East through the park, the lines for shuttle buses and the Bailong elevator was significantly shorter, so we were able to save a lot of time. There is a small tea room near the reception where we spent each night talking to the tea master. She was very lovely and let us sample each of the flower teas that she was creating, they were all very unique and delicious! She is also a calligraphy master and wrote poems with our names to take home! The hotel has free buffet breakfast each morning and it was very delicious each time, you can also have dinner at the restaurant at an extra price. Overall all the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Frankie Qin did an amazing job in organising the driver to pick us up and drop us of at the national park. Moreover he went out of his way to explain ehat hikes to do. The room and hotel was absolutely lovely with everything you need sourrounded by beatiful nature.

The hotel is located in a beautiful natural setting with a fantastic view. You are taken to the gate of the national park. Frankie really looks after his guests and, together with his team, provides a top service. As Frankie also speaks English, communication is easy and smooth. The whole experience is rounded off by a competent and cordial tea master who lives and breathes the love of tea.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but if we had to mention one thing, it would be that we wished there was a small fridge in the room for storing drinks or snacks. It would have added an extra layer of convenience to an otherwise excellent experience.

The surroundings are absolutely stunning—lush greenery, dramatic mountain backdrops, and a tranquil atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. Waking up to the natural beauty of the area was one of the highlights of our stay, and the peaceful setting made it feel like a true escape from the busy world. The rooms are well-appointed, cozy, and offer a relaxing escape after a day of exploring the nearby mountains and scenic areas. The surroundings are peaceful, making it an ideal place to unwind and reconnect with nature. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was the hospitality of the staff—especially Mr. Rain. He was incredibly helpful, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

The size of the room was excellent and the washroom facilities were great too. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed a couple of nights of awesome sleep. The best thing about our stay was the professionalism of the staff, where nothing was too much trouble. Rain helped us plan our trip and excursions and even dropped us off to the Avatar mountains ticket office which is only 2km from the accommodation. Be wary, if you want to ride the elevator to the top of the mountain, you will need to travel farther. Many of the other attractions: Baofeng Lake, the glass bridge and Tianmen mountain are quite a distance from the accommodation though the staff at the hotel are happy to hire you a driver who will drop you off at the attraction and wait for your return. The fee is reasonable too! Enjoy!
