Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The service of this hotel is what makes it absolutely faultless. The room facilities of Whispering Mountains were excellent, and the surrounding area was beautiful. The dinner options were absolutely delicious - do not miss them! The hotel itself is just around the corner from the less populated entrance of the national park. Don't make the same mistake we made by booking a tour guide. You don't need to and the hotel staff will not only help you get park tickets, but will also help you plan your route around the park, keeping in touch with you via We Chat throughout the day to ensure everything is ok. We have never experienced kindness and service before as that that we received at this hotel. Every little detail of it was so attentive and literally preempted our needs throughout our stay. They also helped us organise a trip to Furong Town, which was beautiful and well worth the day trip. Lucas and, above all, Eason are outstanding hosts - thank you so much for taking such good care of us!

NetherlandsLittle storage space in the room and not a separate bathroom, but these are minor things anybody can live with.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Eason helped us organising our trip to the park and Tianmen mountain, setting out the whole itinerary for us. Also, he drove us to the entrance of the park and picked us up at the end of the day. And at the end of the day, it was perfect to relax in the pool and enjoy a great dinner.

ChinaI liked it all.. Menu could have more vegetarian options.
I liked being close to the entrance of the National Mountain Park and the cleanliness of the Hotel. I liked it that the Hotel organised my Park entrance and mapped out best thinking routs. I liked looking at close up mountain view while sitting outdoors eating breakfast. The Staff and Manager supported and assisted me with hotel bookings and finding wifi access.

PortugalThe location near the west gate is excellent because you enter the parc very quickly, they take you to the entrance in five minutes by car, anytime you ask. We had no lines for buses ou cable cars. In some areas of the park the roads are closed so for people staying in the south entrance and wanting to see for instance the Avatar mountains and other areas this means waiting in line for several buses in sequence and climbing a very, very long stair to get to the cable car. From the west entrance it is very quick. A dip in the swimming pool was very good after a long day of hiking. The terrace for the meals had a beautiful view and was really pleasant. The food was delicious. The rooms were spacious and the beds confortable, shower very good and towels fluffy. The staff was really caring. Lucas was helping everyone with planning the itineraries in the park, making it really easy, and got us several tickets too. This was extremely helpful, as Chinese people are lovely but we don’t speak Chinese so it may get difficult. Lucas told us to send him messages by wechat if needed and always responded immediately, which really helped when we got a bit stuck. He and his staff are really caring and make you feel very welcome. Can’t praise them enough!

RomaniaOur stay here was truly one of the best experiences we had in China. The hosts were absolutely amazing — not only do they speak English (which was rare during our trip in China), but they also went above and beyond to help us organize our time in the mountains. Thanks to their support, we managed to visit Zhangjiajie National Park, the Glass Bridge, and Tianmen Mountain in just two full days. They even helped us purchase the entrance tickets in advance. On the day we visited Tianmen Mountain and the Glass Bridge, they arranged a reliable driver who stayed with us all day at a very reasonable price — it really felt like having a personal guide. There’s absolutely no need to stay elsewhere if you want experience as much as possible from this region — staying here is both convenient and pleasant. On our departure day, they even helped us with a transfer to the train station at 3:30 in the morning and prepared a small breakfast for us to take on the train. Breakfast at the hotel was great, with both continental and Chinese options available. They also serve dinner on-site with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The room is clean and has an incredible view to the mountains.

United StatesJust a minor issue for me personally but for most people not a problem. I'm allergice to cats and they have a cat on premise. I spent most of my time out doors so was okay most of the time.
This is the place to stay for Zhangjiajie. The location is within walking distance of the west gate entrance - less crowded than the more popular east gate. The site is more secluded and peaceful which we preferred as a family. The hotel staff is excellent and will do everything to make your stay as smooth and comfortable as possible: we were provided a very clear and detailed itinerary of what to do and where to go; given a ride to the gate when we could have just walked; booked all tickets for us; planned out our second day itinerary to Tianmen, and arranged for taxi there and back; arranged our breakfast and dinner at hotel (which were reasonably priced and delicious). There is a pool table and trampoline where our kids had a blast. Eason, the hotel owner, speaks English and will help you in every way possible. I can't say enough good things about how well he runs his business and helped to make my family's stay there memorable.

AustraliaIt takes ~50 minutes by car to reach from Zhangjiajie Railway station. Breakfast is not included in the room price.
Very close to the West Gate of the NP. Comfortable beds. Excellent food. Helpful staff which will organise entry tickets to NP and cable car combo (unlimited rides). Free laundry (self service). Beautiful surroundings. Pool table. Routes recommended by hotel staff on both days, are in opposite direction to the main crowds, thus making the hiking experience more enjoyable.

My wife and I found this hotel to be a terrific base for our visit to this amazing location in China, as it is situated a short distance from the West Gate of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Our comfortable room had a balcony with a view of the mountains and we also enjoyed the view and evening drinks and dinner on the terrace. Lucas arranged our pick-up from Zhangjiajie station and all our necessary tickets for the park. As well, he provided us with a map, with clear instructions, for us to follow to see the areas in which we were particularly interested. We were grateful for his understanding when we temporarily had some difficulty accessing our finances. Lucas, Eason and all the staff ensured our visit to Zhangjiajie was a highlight of this trip to China and we highly recommend their hotel to anyone planning to visit this National Park.

RussiaVery friendly and helpful English speaking staff. The hotel located in a very quiet area close to the West Gate. It gives the opportunity to avoid crowds of people and offers different interesting routes for visiting the park. The host Lucas gives detailed advises for the day route taking into account duration of your stay, how busy is the park at current moment and weather conditions. The food for breakfast and dinner is home made and very delicious. Additionally there is a bar in the hotel with a choice of beer, wine, rum, whiskey, etc. Lucas arranged us transfer from the airport and on the way back provides us the car for the half of the day, so we could visit the glass bridge, walk in the canyon and have lunch before getting to the airport. Our family loved this small but cosy hotel and would highly recommend it.

United KingdomFabulous location a short walk from the Western Gate to the park, which is much quieter than the other gates. Beautiful Mountain View from the room. Absolutely amazing home cooked food which was almost the highlight of our day! Very reasonably priced for the quality and amount they provide. It was spotlessly clean and - most importantly - there is a cute hotel cat! Special shoutout to Eason, who planned pretty much everything for us, from the tours to transport. He checked in on us during the day to see how we got on. Arranged all tickets and recommended us walking tours. His English is pretty much fluent. The service he provided could not have been better! All we did was show up, pick our tours and dinner! Can’t recommend this place highly enough. There’s not a single downside and we will absolutely stay there again!
