Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaI recently stayed at [Hotel Name] in China from January 14-16, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The hotel is completely unprepared for European tourists in several key areas. First, communication was a major issue. The staff had very limited English proficiency, making even basic requests difficult to convey. There was no effort to accommodate international travelers, and essential information about hotel policies was unclear or not provided at all. The biggest problem, however, was the security deposit taken at check-in. Despite multiple attempts to contact the hotel, I have yet to receive my refund, even after more than two months. This lack of professionalism is completely unacceptable, and it raises serious concerns about the hotel’s management and customer service. During my visit to China, I stayed in other hotels as well and did not encounter these issues; the deposit was refunded within 48 hours. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel to European travelers. If you are considering a stay here, be prepared for poor communication, lack of international customer service, and potential issues with deposit refunds. There are certainly better options available that are more reliable and accommodating.

TaiwanThe breakfast's quality could be better. It has enough variety but lacks quality. Even the noodles from the noodle stand did not cook tasty noodles. This is more of an apartment than a hotel so you need to have the appropriate expectations. The hotel services were not there like the sauna room closed at 9 pm and you need to at least 30 minutes pre-booking in order to use it as it was not turned on until someone booked it.
We had a suite so it was spacious with more space we probably would need. The location is good although with Chongqing's up and down streets, you probably need a car to go anywhere. However, the next door is a big shopping mall so it is pretty convenient.

SingaporeIt came with late night supper. Though it was a nice gesture, it gave the reverse effect. It served mainly porridge with preserved vegetables but the porridge was lukewarm even though it was inside a warmer. They also serve glutinous rice flour cake, the server just dump the whole lot unto the steamer basket without arranging it. The beauty, location and reputation of the hotel does not befit the quality of food from restaurant.
View from the room was incredible.

NetherlandsBreakfast was very disappointing. We read that there was also a western type of breakfast but in reality there were only puffy pudding croissants and puffy bread. Also the baguette was as hard as stone. These were kind of the only “western” breakfast items. The other options were the Chinese type of food. Of course we expected a Chinese type of breakfast but the let down was that it was communicated otherwise. The Window in our room had dirty oily marks all over it. Would have been nice if it was noticed by the cleaning crew. We used the laundry room and did some of our own laundry but the machine didn’t feel clean at all. Most of our clothes came out with marks and dirty spots from the machine
Great rooms, quick service, polite people, beautiful location. Great views.

AustraliaThe air condition can’t cool down the room. Even it was set to 16degC, the room is absolutely toasted. I have to keep the window open. The wash machine is leaking as well. The breakfast isn’t good. I only bother to go one time in my four night stay.
Location is great.

ChinaWell, maybe it’s a local culture - the staffs were nice and friendly but “per our rule…” could be felt at all times, unlike our previous experience with Ascott. Had even worse experience with such attitude at another hotel in Chongqing before moving to Ascott so in comparison not a really big issue. Breakfast was quite poor in “quality” than other Ascott facilities.
Location and usual Ascott room standards.

United KingdomJack hammer construction going on 24/7 and we mean 24/7 - we stayed for one month and after 2 peaceful weeks it started..... from then, we never really got an entire nights peace. The manager who visited our room didn't seem to share that the constant digging throughout the entire day and night was an issue - it was! A big one. We left two weeks earlier than planned. Breakfast was under par so much, we just stopped going. Front desk require some guest training. The rooms could be cleaner (fingerprints and small marks). It's expensive - though family apartment choices at this level are limited. Other than the metro which is fine - getting a taxi too and from can be challenging - the area is so busy that taxi drivers don't want to go there.
The panoramic view from the room was breathtaking. Location of the hotel is probably the best in CQ. Maid service on the 34th floor was excellent. All the concierge staff were impeccable Gym/pool/sauna staff excellent. The facilities in the apartment were top class. Anything from a cup of coffee to daily food, beer, medicines can be delivered inside 30mins (normally).

GermanyBeds and pillows were uncomfortably hard. In our room, the air stream from the AC was uncomfortably positioned towards the bed headboard. :-( A small restaurant, extremely narrow and the breakfast was equivalent to a local 3 star hotel. Public bathroom in the hotel lobby was locked and the ladies and gent’s restaurant toilets were extremely unpleasant.
A great location and a very nice property with modern interior and design. Very friendly staff at the door and reception.
