Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyPrices in the restaurant are a bit expensive More variety in the restaurant would be nice No stores in close proximity of the hotel. Not directly connected to the hotel, but if you are booking the transport to/from Santa Marta or other place, it’s best to book it through the hotel. If not and not very clearly said, drivers will not pick you up but you will have to go to the village, to the pick up spot. Not all drivers are clear with that (best avoid the driver Halminton).
Nice, remote and peaceful location Very nice staff Breakfast, not perfect, but interesting and good

SwitzerlandNothing.
Beautiful, beachfront area, where the bungalows are located (looks like a postcard). Spacious, comfortable bungalow with a great design. Delicious breakfast, friendly staff, great massages. The hotel is located within a short beach walk from Palomino, and close to the entrance to the Tayrona National Park.

United KingdomNot great value for money, quite expensive, breakfast options for vegetarians/vegans needs improving. Fan in the bungalow was weak. We also moved next door for a night as it was full but they didn’t have the courtesy to even use their tuk tuk to drop us off and we got ripped off by the one they called.
Beautiful grounds and really good food at the restaurant for lunch. Close to the beach, peaceful, and nice staff. Great for relaxing.

United StatesThe spacious casita (hakuma?) had a second floor for additional guests, which was an unexpected noise source of creaking floors, dragged chairs, and heavy footsteps. Fortunately, this only lasted one night, but I will make sure to forgo the extra space and ceiling height for the extra quiet of a 1-story casita.
The property is gorgeous, with lots of green areas, walking paths, and beachfront palapas. The casitas are spread out over the expansive property, so you feel like you are alone. The included breakfast has a delicious variety, and the paid dinner options were better than any of the meals we had in town.

Ireland- Chairs were dirty with bird poo. - Pool with too much clorine. - Very old beach towels. - No AC and hot shower. Due to the warm weather, the shower didn’t bother us, but no AC did. - Room is old, needs renovation. - Lack of plugs. - I wouldn’t rate the place as a resort. Don’t come if you’re looking for modern facilities.
- Very peaceful and not too far from town. If you’re looking for a lively place, this is not for you. - Good location. We walked a few times via the beach (15 mins) or the main road during the day (40mins). At night we got a tuk tuk for about 20 thousand COP. - Close to other beach bars. - Staff extremely helpful. - Food is extraordinary. Amazing dinner as well. Breakfast is perfect. - Pool and beach bar with amazing food and drinks. - The resort itself is beautiful, amazing view, loads of birds and squirrels around.

Can't really find enough complimentary words for this hotel and its wonderful staff. We had nothing but courtesy and helpfulness throughout our stay here. Loved the room, the balcony with hammock and the peaceful quiet atmosphere. Breakfasts here were brilliant, dinner was great and the views from the restaurant are stunning.

United KingdomAmazing location which was walking distance to Palomino. True green credentials. We were in a room up by reception and the restaurant and pool. No aircon but the ceiling fans worked great so didn’t miss them. We had a patio with a hammock. Fly sheets on all windows - no problem with mosquitoes. The restaurant was great - up on decking which took advantage of the sea breeze. We had delicious breakfasts (with a couple of parrots who joined us!) and lunches/dinners were also really tasty. The whole place was full of trees and plants, beach was lovely with an amazing amount of places to sit in the shade. A second pool on the beach allowed for safe swimming as the sea can have rips. It was beautiful and clean. Bar on the beach was good - swings to sit on which was fun.

United StatesThe views were beautiful. The resort was a little bit down the beach from Palomino town so we were able to enjoy a quieter beach in front of the resort. However, we could still walk down to Palomino town if we wanted to. Walk was ~10 min down the beach. We stayed in a hut on the beach and it was wonderful to wake up to the sounds of birds and waves crashing. Restaurant food and cocktails were tasty. Would definitely recommend.

SwedenNothing really.
The stay was 11/10. The facilities are nice and clean, the staff is amazing (especially Neilis during breakfast) and the food was the best we had so far in Colombia. We also had massage (both deep and relaxing one) and those were also super good.

GermanyThe private beach is excellent and there are plenty of sunbeds available. The Hotel provides towels for the beach. Closer to the "centre" of Palomino, the beach is very narrow, crowded and noisy. The pool near the beach is also great, as you can't really get into the sea because of waves and currents. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The food (breakfast and dinner) is also delicious. We were able to sleep well at night thanks to the ceiling fan and had no problems with mosquitoes. All in all, a perfect stay and perfect for relaxing and enjoying.

ColombiaPerhaps the bathrooms of the cottages could be upgraded and better maintained. I missed room service in my terrace and better services in the beach-huts. Room rates are high for a Colombian. It is not a resort. I would give it three and half stars.
AITE Is the place to relax and “do nothing”, being that a very good thing. It is a real eco lodge in every which way. I appreciated the strict rules to damper unwanted noice. The silence is extremely nice. No music allowed which permits nature to take over. The personnel were extremely nice and friendly. Perhaps the best is that I would not call it a Resort. The beach houses are in a sand garden full of palm trees and very much apart so as to have total privacy. Can’t hear a word from neighbors. Don’t go to AITE if you are looking for @rumba. You can find it with a ten minute beach walk. We had a wonderful week at AITE. I hope owners will do a good job in maintaining it as being the cottages by the beach upkeep is very expensive.

United States- staff was attentive, kind, and helpful in planning an incredible off-resort tubing excursion, and on-resort massage - didn't expect to enjoy the music-free vibe, but it was peaceful and relaxing - beautiful pool, and a bar that was just steps from the water with great drinks - not for travelers who are looking for heavily sanitized, high luxury lodging -- Aité was in touch with the environment, the people, and the flow of nature without sacrificing safety, comfort, cleanliness, and beauty.
